  1. Tried playing with a VPN active. No issues, normal latency, completely playable. Disabled the VPN: immediately back to "surprise mechanics" (red X, character stuck in place, abilities taking 3 minutes to activate, etc). Probably an issue with routing somewhere, or some provider or other misinterpreting traffic from SWTOR as torrenting or whatever they try to secretly police.
  2. Following @TrixxieTriss instructions in PingPlotter shows 100% packet loss at the node "4.68.111.101" (reports no name) and 90% packet loss at the node "4.69.206.77" (ae-1-3502.ear3.Washington1.Level3.net). 0% loss and trivial latency at every other hop.
  3. I am experiencing the same issue. Connection constantly bouncing between "Red X", 1 bar, 2 bars, 4 bars, 90ms, 6000ms, 210510ms, etc. Have now tried a lot of other connections: video services stream fine, webpages load fine, and I'm not experiencing these issues in other MMOs. Began around 3:00 PM PST.
  4. not in the mood to sugar-coat this so let's get straight to the point, here's how to reproduce yet another bug (and/or inexplicable design choice) in your game: - queue for Random Veteran Flashpoint using Group Finder - get The Foundry - be disappointed, because this flashpoint is long, bland, and boring - go all the way to the very end of the flashpoint - spacebar through Revan's dialogue - fight Revan - die to one of Revan's meteor spam crashes because you're getting network latency to Bioware servers (and only Bioware servers) that causes your game to sometimes hitch and then fast-forward - say out loud, "oh no, I am dead, and everyone else's Revive is on-cooldown, because it's a Veteran FP with three tank classes and a marauder, and it's 2020 but we're still putting something as pointless as the ability to raise your group members outside combat on a 15 minute CD" - realize we're all going to be standing around for 10 minutes waiting on a Revive CD for you - say, "oh well, I will just release and run back, because surely this Flashpoint will be like every single other Flashpoint that I have encountered so far, and have a checkpoint that will take me back to near or just outside the boss room, because that would be a sane and player-respecting game design" - RELEASE TO MEDCENTER - fade to black - hear ominous music begin playing in the background (but not actually in-game, this is just an auditory hallucination) - realize you are now located AT THE VERY BEGINNING, ie THE ENTRANCE, ie THE START, ie THE PLACE WHERE YOU FIRST ZONE IN UPON BEGINNING THE INSTANCE... OF THE FOUNDRY FLASHPOINT - say, "Wow, that is quite an awful result, I am displeased by this, oh well, I guess I will just spend FIFTEEN MINUTES running all the way back to Revan's room" - start running back - realize the airlock leading from the starting Imperial ship, to the actual Foundry station, is LOCKED - realize it is physically impossible to complete the Flashpoint now - realize you just wasted 20-30 minutes of your time, and your XP boost, for nearly-zero XP payout, and also no loot, because that loot is on Revan's body, which I would like to remind you — the developer reading this — that said body is located in Revan's room, which is on the OPPOSITE SIDE of the Foundry now, behind a LOCKED DOOR - say, "Wow! This is some amazing, sizzling bantha poodoo! I think I will go write a bug report about this, in order to channel my emotions into something less likely to cause Dark Side V facial features" - sit back and think about how this Bug Report will possibly not even be read for 3-6 months, and not repaired for maybe 18-21 months, or possibly not ever - realize that by the time this bug is ever fixed, it probably won't even be relevant any more - realize that instead of writing a bug report, you could have just used that time to run another Flashpoint instead - think long and hard about your life choices and how you use your time - press Submit New Thread anyway - stare blanky at the wall for 30 seconds with a 1000-yard gaze - queue for another Veteran Flashpoint - fade to black
  5. The gear / items from these vendors would be more rewarding and more convenient if they Bound to Legacy instead of being standard BoP. I don't think the CE vendor (considering the cost to access it) is out-of-line offering BTL gear. I also think 'free' BTL gear is appropriate for incentivizing the Security Token 'account security bribery' vendor. This would also be a boon for swapping RP / fashion sets across factions that are currently unavailable (my primary motivation, since BTL gear is readily-available anyway from 50+ if you just want to gear out alts stat-wise).
  6. Coming back to the game after a very long time away. I found a ton of unused Reputation items piled up across several characters. I would like to consume these, to gain back the inventory space (and also because, why not). Would anyone mind letting me briefly hop into a 10% Rep Bonus guild so I can eat up all these Rep consumes?
  7. Oh look, other games with a Cosmetic tab and a functioning dye system and... Look. I love Star Wars and I will definitely keep playing your silly underachieving content-droughted Star Wars MMO because: PvE coop is mindless fun It's the only seriously Sci-Fi MMO in the fluffy relaxing WoW style This game completely nailed Trinity Healing and made the healer job actually fun Barbie in Space is really fun It's Star Wars Probably other things I'm forgetting But, yeah, you're pushing even my stubborn limits when it comes to funding said game in addition to playing it. I only buy Cartel sets off the GTN so I can Unlock them, because I do tons of fashionista'ing and redesigns all the time across my alts and it's much cheaper than buying the same pieces over and over and over. Now this is just like... okay you know what? I have enough clothes already. I don't need to make outfits with this new stuff that badly. Kindly just screw off, thanks. It's like: $100 fancy-label cow-print bikini VS. Refill my Cartel Coins to pay massively-inflated unlock fees and continue being gimmicked in circles harder and harder every update Bikini is winning! Because I don't need to pay an additional $5 every time I want to loan it to one of my GFs! Well and also it's a cow-print bikini, I mean... yeah. To clarify: BioWare, the price hike taken in isolation is merely 'annoying', but it's just one piece of straw too much. You've reached that tipping point where "WHO CARES I'M BEING PRETTY IN STAR WARS" is no longer outweighing "Ha ha ha, wow, they really do love bending me over my desk and ravaging my sensitive bits mercilessly". You've actually pushed me to the point where I'm saying, "Meh, I don't care, I'll just use a less-perfect alternative I already have". That... I mean... yeah. That takes a lot to get me, of all people, to that point.
  8. Contraband Pack → Contraband Resale Rep Bounty Pack → Bounty Supply Rep Starfighter Pack → Interplanetary Rep Nightlife Pack → There is no rep for these packs
  9. Welp, there goes the last incentive I had to ever, ever buy packs. Thanks, BioWare. I think. Maybe.
  10. I'm not sure what this really accomplishes, though. A Tank who is too clueless to use their tanking stance or switch to it, still won't hold aggro because they're probably tunnel-visioning anyway. Like it would help slightly, but it wouldn't really help as much as we might be imagining since Tanking is more about awareness and target selection, which you can't really compensate if someone refuses to have a clue. ie, someone with no clue is still going to ruin your day whether they're in Soresu or Shii-Cho.
  11. Approved. Ignoring the sarcastic abuse above, I support this because leveling through GF is currently boring and repetitive, especially in the very tedious BP-Foundry-Colicoid nightmare range where you memorize Revan's speeches by heart, start saying his lines out loud before he even speaks them, and want to lightsaber-seppuku after awhile. Bolstering FPs would allow the leveling experience to have significantly more variety, and would make it a lot more fun / appealing for people who are very group-PvE inclined. BioWare, please do.
  12. I'm referring to situations where a Class or Companion can still equip the "dunce version" of a weapon slot for some inexplicable reason: Assault Cannon / Sniper Rifle DPS that can still equip Blaster Rifles Saberstaff DPS/Tanks that can still equip Single-Blade Sabers Techstaff DPS that can still equip Techblades Sometimes, I really prefer the look of the "fail" weapon type — for example, IMO Sergeant Rusk just looks better as a rugged psychopath soldier with a simple blaster rifle, rather than a goofy gigantic tube glued to his back. From comparing damage ranges and basic MMO common sense, I can figure out that you're supposed to use the "correct" type and that this will do more damage. What I'm trying to understand is how bad the difference is — are we talking a minor difference that's only going to matter in Ops / parses (like 2-3% etc), or are we talking a severe difference that's going to gimp you in any kind of content (like 20-30%+, etc)? If anyone has any insight about this I'd appreciate it.
  13. Hi BioWare, This is just your monthly reminder (3 years running) that all the gorgeous unique outfits Companions start with — which are low-quality greens statwise and thus promptly get destroyed and replaced by generic-looking garbage — should be moddable, just like companion starter weapons. Sincerely, — Almost everyone that cares about their crew's fashion sense, ever, since the game released
  14. There is definitely a darkening and muting of colors in his UI-enabled shot.
