  1. While BW's initial implementation of the 7.0 gearing was lacking, this system was probably their healthiest structure they have done for gearing in quite a while. The baseline gearing model is pretty close to how it has been structured for the top dog of the market, FFXIV. People forget that every other fundamental gear change BW has implemented have all been awful with incremental improvements just like is currently happening. The fact that 6.0 gearing's optimal plan was to grind Hammer Station until you have max gear was fundamentally broken as offering less rewards for more difficult content is the antithesis of healthy game design.
  2. Ignite core is by far the largest dps check right now, but is it really that bad? It took my team 2 pulls getting to Scyva to clear the boss and we had a single dps PT.
  3. Hi Chris, Thank you for listening to feedback here, but this is definitely minor compared to the dps concerns. The big issue that most people are having is not the nerfs themselves, but rather which specs you are choosing to nerf. The overtuned specs in PVE are: Operative healer - getting deservedly nerfed, really good changes made here and with the other healers Pyro DPS - also getting deservedly nerfed, also good changes here Anni DPS healing - not touched Vengeance DPS AOE - also not touched Fury DPS - also not touched Hatred execute - getting nerfed too much The other changes you are making to concealment, madness, lightning, and AP just don't make any sense from a player's POV, and you are nerfing them while leaving the overperforming specs untouched. It would make players less frustrated if you explained why you are nerfing underperforming specs while leaving over half of the overperforming specs untouched.
  4. My group noticed the hazardous pieces we purchased cost veteran tokens to upgrade instead of the story mode tokens.
  5. Operations have really been catered to, just look at all of the content. Those 2 operations and 1 single boss instance over the last 7 years took up way too many dev resources.
  6. As someone that plays both games, I don't see a huge difference. Both games are having the bis gear be tied to the hardest difficulty at the time, and then have catchup mechanics. SWTOR's catchup mechanics are just more awkward because it's their first time doing it in a while and their content release cycle is much longer, and they have to recycle their older content because of that. Regardless, you still end up raiding to get the highest ilvl (not bis) in FFXIV even for catchup gearing, it's just less challenging raids.
  7. To be honest, as someone that plays both FF14 and this game, the post launch story in that game blows this one's out of the water. Not to mention all of the single player games that do story much better. You are 100% wrong.
  8. To be honest, there really isn't much that you're missing regarding storytelling. There is 1 or 2 really short cutscenes per operation at most with the boss taunting you for a couple of seconds with no dialogue from your character as well as a really short dialog with the quest givers for the one time quests for each operation telling you how great you are for defeating the bosses. The majority of the storytelling is in the bosses' taunts during the fights and the mechanics of the bosses that would inevitably have to be mostly eliminated if solo play was to be an option. It is something that would be a great deal more work than the reward would be worth, especially with BWA's incredibly slow pace of content delivery for the past long while. I could see the flashpoints that don't have a solo mode getting one, but the operations not so much. As for the Oricon vs Revan story arc, the only reason that the Revan story arc even worked the way it did was that they had to make revan escape during the operation fight before he died so that he could later be defeated solo which feels pretty poorly conceived to me.
  9. I'm not a fan of the mount, but I don't have a problem with it. I am pretty disappointed about the title though, there were a lot of cooler options that were also more lore appropriate for those that care about that.
  10. I have to say that it is rare that someone rambles on for so long but is completely wrong as you are in this case about almost everything. As for the reason that CXP for chapters is so low, it's because at 1 point running chapters 1 and 2 of KotFE was quite a bit more efficient at grinding cxp than anything else in the game so the devs of course nerfed it to the ground along with the rest of the chapters as is their usual way when they nerf things.
  11. Poor underperforming madness didn't get a damage buff? Rip them
  12. Please don't insist on calling the DVL bosses raid bosses. They are most closely related to world bosses/conquest commanders and are completely different from raid bosses. It doesn't help that I have a guild member that had soloed some of them not too long after they came out. I don't have a problem with story players complaining in general, especially if they're complaining about the quality of the story which I agree was lackluster at best. What I am finding amusing is things like acting like the small amount of story that they are getting now is comparable to raiders/pvpers not getting any new content for multiple years in a row (which is something you did by trying to compare the story that story players got post KotET to raiders getting DVL bosses); as well as story players acting like BWA delivering raid/pvp content was a waste of time and they should get back to only producing story content. Constant complaining wasn't what got BWA to make raids, it was vastly declining numbers when they tried to get by with story only, which ended up causing a change in management as well as a philosophy change. The only thing that would really cause them to change would be for enough players to quit and leave the reason in an exit survey as the story being what caused them to quit. I originally joined this game for the story and played for a couple of years as a story only player, and moved on to playing all parts of the game. I would love for them to increase the quality of that story, just don't drag down the other parts of the game when you're calling for them to improve the story.
  13. There was no new raid content for over 2 years while there was plenty of content being added to other parts of the game and mainly story. There was no new PVP content for over 2 years while there was plenty of content being added to the game and mainly story. There has been comparatively less story content being added to the game when content for the rest of the game has been equally slow. I see a pretty clear difference here, don't You? If you don't think the content added is enough for you go ahead and complain/unsubscribe. Just don't be dishonest and complain about the raiders getting all the content when n9body is really getting that much, (not saying that you were doing so).
  14. That's fair, I agree they've done a poor job with the returning companions, but they've kind of wrote themselves into a corner with how long it's been, and how many more still have to return. The only class I've gone all the way through the story on is my sage, so I completely agree with you about their poor state with companions. I agree that the classes like the consular and to a lesser extent, the knight and smuggler, have had it rough with most of their companions yet to return, but the unfortunate truth is that with the amount of content getting released, nobody is going to be super happy, and I think they are doing the best they realistically can with a couple of companions returning each patch for the next couple of patches at least. The point I was trying to make is that there isn't really a good option for BWA to take with the amount of content they have been releasing, and I think giving everybody a little bit of something was the best option out of all the ones they had left. Along with stopping all the nonsense talk about how releasing 1 operation over the course of the year was operations players getting all the content, and the story players being left with scraps.
  15. It is hilarious for me to see story players act like they are being victimized when BWA's clear goal is giving every group some content rather than focusing exclusively on story like they did to the game's detriment for a couple of years. While no one is going to be happy because they clearly don't have the resources to deliver the content that would require, they are giving everybody a little piece which is far, far healthier than what they did with KotFE in giving pretty much exclusively solo story content. Story players need to chill out and realize that even though they aren't getting the same amount of content they are used to, they are still getting the majority of the content. Since 5.0 which was pretty much the second expansion made up of only story, they got an entire storyline which consisted of 1 new planet and a couple of flashpoints, and a ton of companion returns, while operations players got 1 operation which when it is finished will have beenr over 39 months since their last complete operation, and PVP players got 1 new warzone which is just a reskin of a previous map. They aren't focusing on ops to the detriment of story otherwise it wouldn't have taken them an entire year to deliver 1 operation while abandoning the master mode that they initially promised.
