  1. Most of the questions are noobish, I agree. However I have also seen an increase in hacks or things that were looking very very fishy. Apart from Speed-Hacks that are obvious I have seen the following (most only post 1.2): People in huttball with the ball, in the attacking "pit" in front of the defenders' score-line, just running and warping in the wall and then suddenly scoring (I know this also happens if it's a juggernaut intercedes on a stealthed friendly player in the scoreline area but the ball carrier was not a juggernaut), I believe someone of that team actually has frapsed, no idea if it's been posted anywhere tho. Same scenario as before, ball carrier was a sorcerer and he started jumping close to the wall (to get to the scoreline) and managed to get up and over the border and in the scoreline zone (and then sprinted to score, ofc). No idea how he did it, no players were in that zone when he jumped up (and sorcerers who can use extricate surely cannot stealth), it might be some sort of speed hack or lag hack. Last seen today >< Stealth plants in Voidstar: simply you are watching the door, noone is there, bomb gets planted, you wonder *** is going on, go AOE close to the door, spot noone. If you are quick enough you can defuse, but if the other team has some brains or has players close you lose. I think this happens because players are occasionally spawned in the wrong place (or there is a glitch to run through walls?), but it has never happened to me and I have a rank 85, a rank 71 and a rank 65 characters. Caps from outside the turrets in novare coast. You are inside the your turret, someone is magically capping, you doublecheck the turrets' corners, noone's there, you check outside, noone's there, you run behind the turret and someone is there with the capping animation and he just stole your turret. No idea how, camera distance and camera angle seem to not be enough to get it done (I tried, you get Cannot see target).
  2. Hey, I got to this thread by a Link from the community homepage. I think it's fairly great, and I wish everyone (at least on PVP servers) followed it, it would be a good start. There are however some fairly mis-leading points which I'll try to address without being too much of a geek or theorycrafter. 1) Wrong for almost all classes, at least if you have access to a lvl 50 character in the Republic. War Hero (especially the 7 armor pieces) is a very small upgrade from BattleMaster (if you compare it from the upgrade Recruit->BM), so there are better and quicker way to become more competitive (it's the whole point of the guide, isn't it?) in a lot less time. Battlemaster gear comes with no Enhancements that provide Surge Rating (it's always Power or Crit matched with Accuracy or Alacrity). If you had Enhancements with Surge Rating you could increase the damage your critical hits deal by a good 25% (and if you are full BM you will crit between 22 and 45% of your attacks). You need Surge Rating. This is especially true if your class (and spec) doesn't need alacrity but it is also true to some extent if it does, as alacrity reaches diminishing returns fairly quickly and accuracy is blatantly useless in PVP. How to get them? Extract them from Troopers' Battlemaster cannons (Medic for Crit/Surge. Eliminator for Power/Surge). They cost 1550 Warzone Commendations each and swapping them all for your stock BM enhancements (at the cost of 9300 commendations) will net you far better performance improvements than spending those commendations in 2 War Hero implants or 1 piece of War Hero armor (can't buy much more with 3100 Ranked Commendations). I understand you want to add a guide about Mod Extraction, but this needs to be pointed out right now, as getting a minor upgrade just because it's called War Hero is a mistake if you have access to these enhancments. Please Note: Imperial Characters have no access whatsoever to this kind of enhancements (no weapons with power/surge or crit/surge) directly, it can be done indirectly if you have a lvl 50 Republic alt character but it's a fairly expensive process. On the second point I also disagree. After 1.2 Expertise is king regardless of how much expertise you have. When comparing the same amount of 2 stats Expertise will be better than any other stat (+41 Expertise will be better than +41 Power or +41 Critical Rating or +41 Main Stat), with the current plotted Expertise curves on other forums this is true for all amounts of expertise currently reachable with the known gear. It might still be better to swap an item with Expertise for one without, but the one without has to provide way higher stats than the amount of expertise lost in the process (for example a belt with +67 Expertise might provide a lesser damage boost than one with a PvE armoring and a PvP Mod). But the general rule is that Expertise is king, and BioWare has done a very good job in making it so with 1.2
  3. ...not sure if anyone has done it before because I don't lurk these forums but me and a guildie sorcerer have been at it since the last week of January (got first clears between that and Feb 4th), mostly for fun as we didn't need any columi gear. Below is the link for the Kaon video (others are private for now as I'm not sure how many people could be interested), Please not that this is mostly uncut audio/video meaning Italian chattering in the background even by people not in the flashpoint, please mute and listen to music if you're not interested in hearing it. Only fragment missing should be the first 1-2 waves of the first event and maybe the first seconds of the kill pull of the last boss (only 1 wipe on the last boss in the first try, not bad). Most of the trash clearing is recorded (mainly because it's actually fun in Kaon, in other videos I haven't even bothered recording it). The video is for demonstration purposes only, so no fancy scene transitioning or post-production Please note: after the changes I had to respec to full tank (darkness) because of the nerf to my hybrid spec, thanks to wither instances actually go much smoother now If it's something people already did before Feb, please disregard this thread
  4. False Emperor - Sometimes even with a double Overload (from 2 Sith Inquisitors) Malgus does not get knocked properly (he doesn't get interrupted on the first one) - On the Mandalorian Captain (can't remember name) sometimes the ship will stay in close range, regardless of clicking the correct turrets (turrets shoot it, but the ship does not go away), resulting in a quick wipe when the damage bonus reaches 400% - On HK47 if you kill him ignoring completely the turrets (not even removing the shields) the turrets become invincible since you have no way of deactivating the shields after HK is dead and an encounter reset (usually through a wipe) is required to be able to progress the flashpoint (can't speak to the guy with the funny ears if you are in combat)
  5. 26/09 thanks to Webhallen not sending me the code untill I complained twice in a store and twice by mail (very politely ofc, at the time I was not really sure I would have liked the game anyways). Otherwise I'd be in already. Still don't like this EGA policy but can't do anything about it can we?
  6. Then they would lose a lot of money because most of those people would cancel their pre-order, guess what.
  7. Not going to happen, they still want their money, they couldn't care less if they have no good contribution It's EA after all...
  8. Yeah right, because on the 20th they will let normal customers in with waves so they can smooth that out too...oh wait no they can't do that... I would have preferred everyone in at the same time + crashes during early access (acceptable) rather than "smooth" early access (with a lot of pissed off people) + everyone in on the 20th -> server crashes on release day (unacceptable and a lot more pissed off people). To top it off if they can handle server load on the 20th they can now aswell, so there is really no point in these "waves"
  9. Could just people that have redeemed their code on the 21-22/07 post a screenshot of their My Account -> Code Redemption page? people would believe you more and start hating bioware more aswell Same applies for those apparently in that have redeemed after July, yes there will be fakes, but if we get enough samples it should be pretty definitive. And even if they are playing it takes 30 seconds to print screen and post a reply with the screen
