All kinds of Books, but I am a big Terry Pratchett fan.
  1. Yes the fact that the mission gets abandoned instead of reset is extremely annoying. Traveling half the map back just to pick the quest back up again and then travel back to the quest area seems such a waste of time. I usually like to pick up all quests in a hub because I don't want to miss some, but because they get abandoned without so much of a message now i can no longer be sure that all quests remain in the quest log once I log out. I really hope that this gets changed to reset (still bad enough if that happens shortly before you finish the quest) instead of abandon.
  2. I was able to to the mission both for a sorcerer and an assassin. Both times without legacy bonus. The mission is doable if you heal between fights.
  3. Loosing the Voice over would be a big blow and drive many players away. I fully believe that in development they made the error to have the class story as main story and the galaxy as side story. Which meant that they endet up with too many companions, most of which end up standing around as decoration 99% of the time after the first three chapters, and too many voice actors for the main character. If they want to reduce the number of voices they have to record, I could imagine that as part of a future storyline the main character suffers an injury that changes their voice so that all four republic males (or even alle eight male classes) can be voiced by the same voice actor, greatly reducing the amount of time and money needed for recording.
  4. However if you do play a Twi'lek, Talos will mention that Kallig was an alien, if I remember correctly.
  5. Yes and no. I am actually concerned that the delay was only announced a week before the planned launch. This speaks of poor planing because a delay requiring two months (even considering a week of holidays) should not be a last minute surprise to the developers and communicated to the players as early as possible. However the negativity on this forum is as bad as the one in the story section of WoW.
  6. I think they are talking about Warhammer Online, Age of Reckogning. (2008-2013) It was developed by Mythic Entertainment, which later was renamed/restuctured as BioWare Mythic (2009), then rerenamed back to Mythic in 2012 and closed in 2014. The game itself was shut down because a renewal of the Warhammer licsence was to expensive considering the number of players.
  7. Most quest still exist, but are hidden by default. You can turn them back on via the map. But be warned, if you do all sidequest including heroics you will, even without doing flashpoints or pvp, reach the max level during chapter 2 or even earlier.
  8. The creed does not make bounty hunters legal. Many of them still work for crime lords, and the failure to pay an extortion can be enough to end up with a bounty on your head. A bounty hunter can pick his jobs, and some do, but the creed does not require to only take jobs where the mark is a criminal or is placed by somebody with any legal authority .
  9. Which interview would that be ? Ohlsen did mention no such thing in the MMORPG interview. He did say that companions can die through player choices ( a long requested feature considering that some players wanted to kill certain companions since launch ). Most companions will not be back as companions that is true, but many and certainly the romance options will return as NPCs like the ME1/2 companions did in ME 2/3 . Hopefully they avoid Jacob-like reunions which upset most of the few who romanced him.
  10. No. They have been pretty clear that you cannot go back into the old (class-) story once you start the expansion. You most likely can go back and do planetary arcs, collections etc , but the class story is finished the same way it would be for a toon that got leveled to 60 the old fashioned way.
  11. I would love to know how the ridiculous rumor that someone told BioWare to remove SGRAs came from. I have been on the forums since before launch, participated in all but the first of the 30+ threads on this topic (back when there was a 100 pages limit on topics), but there has never been any information about this ,and considering the stance of Lucas, Disney, EA and BioWare is all pro-gay it is rather baseless anyway. Also if they were forbidden to include SGRA in the base game, why would they have been allowed RotH ? Anyway I seriously hope that there will be some changes to elder game companions (either already romance-able or not) to make it possible to carry over a romance into KotFE and not just have the first real companion romance post 60.
  12. Wrong. Even the very first full SGRA (Sky) in a BioWare game contained special lines for the romance, including lines asking the Spirit Monk why he was not interested in women. And the later compainions also all contained special lines for SGRAs, sometimes only little adjustments sometimes more clearly indicating gender flags. Even in the only game with "Player sexual" companions DA2, gender flags were prominent in both the companions and other NPC´s lines. Uncle Gamlen when remarking on Hawke´s love life says differnet things depending on both Hawke´s gender and the companion.
  13. First, "will" implies that the plans did not change, if SGRAs with companions were completely canned at the time of writing he would have used "would". (Though considering that in the two years since plans might have changed without communicating this change to the community). Second, I am well aware about the costs of VO. That is why I found it rather strange that (with the two exceptions of Talos and Zenith) only romance able original companions talked in SoR. Calling only those actors back even when other companions have far better reasons to talk during SoR, like Scourge, Jaesa ... ,is a rather odd choice. I find it highly likely that the lines needed to adjust existing romance arcs for a player character of the same sex have been recorded at the same time. Otherwise the intro and the few planetary remarks would hardly have been worth the effort and cost of bringing all those voice actors back. Third, changing the existing companions is the cheapest way to go address the issue, since the VO costs are already covered by point two. Two new companions would be impossible to fit into the old game (see Treek and HK ) and require much more work both in programming, voice recording and design (unless existing companions remain as indifferent about new companion RAs like they are about Theron and Lana). So I would not be too surprised if SGRAs with companions will be included in an 3.x update this year, especially since the issue of having to level a class again has been addressed with the 12xXP boost for class missions.
  14. "Topic #4: Same Gender Romance: Any news on this front would be great… Answer: First of all, I want to apologize that this is taking so long to get in the game. I realize that we promised SGR to you guys and that many of you believed that this would be with a companion character. Unfortunately, this will take a lot more work than we realized at the time and it (like some other pieces of content we talked about earlier in the year) has been delayed as we focused on the changes required to take the game Free-to-Play. " Jeff Hickman. State of the Game #2, 01.02.2013 So 2013 SGRA´s with companions were still planned. And Shadow of Revan actually made me believe that SGRAs with existing companions are not too unlikely. All the LI voice-actors got called back so there are no new external costs (that is if they planned accordingly) and now with the Epic Story XP Boost even the re-leveling an already played class is a minor inconvenience.
  15. You overestimate the problems. They already brought all the relevant VA back for SoR. You will notice that in the intro cinematic both the male and female LI for all classes speak while nearly all the other NPCs remain silent throughout the expansion. Recording the rather few lines needed for a SGRA with an existing companion can (and possibly has been) be done alongside the recording for the rest of the game and would not take more than half a day per LI (generous estimation). The tricky part is the coding. Code for LI confrontations already exists (because some class-gender combinations have two LIs already) but it has to be expanded for the other classes. And depending on how the romance arcs are programmed (ME1-style initial gender-check with no later checks or DA-style with gender-checks in every dialoge) reprogramming can be a lot of work. Not to mention that for existing characters who already leveled the affection to max and possibly even commited to an other LI issues can happen if new dialoge is added. But since the last word on this is two years old they should have had enough time to figure something out by now or at least own up to the fact if companion SGRAs have been scrapped instead of delayed.
