  1. All this time I thought this was bug due to me running SWTOR on Linux (was the only glitch I really noticed). The preview window would bug out and not display items...sometimes it would work, but other times it just failed -seemingly at random. Yeah, this needs fixed.
  2. Well, this is the first time doing this "quest" and I used duckduckgo searching for SWTOR reclaimed treasure...so here I am. And the information has been useful to me. And, yes, the person that kept fussing about duplicate thread topics needs to lighten up a bit.
  3. I am a new player (started late last month) and I am enjoying the game. As a subscriber (having never played "free" I am pretty satisfied. My biggest disappointments to date: I purchased a Legacy Rename...it says I have to wait like 500+ hours...WdeeF? When I created my first character and Legacy on my first char I wasn't really sure what the name entailed or that I couldn't just later rename, I have a clearer Idea now about what I want but for some reason it has this huge timer on the rename. It would be my first time ever renaming the Legacy, for a purchased option -well, I am not pleased. Free Character Boost for new players This is a very bad idea all around and especially bad considering the...nature of the expansions... Why would devs want new players to skip or jump directly into the expansion content which effectively nullifies and isolates the player from experiencing most of the best of the pre-65 content? Yeah, I deleted my free Boosted character after completing the story...that character became a dead end and had no connection to anything in the pre-expansion areas, too many limitations and a dead end for RPG enthusiasts. By all means, allow players to purchase BOOSTED or allow them for players who already have level cap chras...but this is not for NEW players for so many other reasons (not limited to what I listed here). Snippet: Quest tracking/availability is weird...can't seem to find the same quests on my Sith Warrior as I did on my Sith Inquisitor...
  4. Except we are all freaking emperors of the galaxy, therein lies the problem.
  5. Well, I am late to the party having just been playing SWTOR for under two months but having also played a boosted 65 char to 70 and completed the God Emperor of the Cosmos...I am going to emphatically say that story sucks. The shark has been thoroughly jumped and BW has completely ruined the stories I was enjoying by breaking the whole game with this ridiculous "story". So, having deleted the offending level 70I shall do my utmost to avoid any of the last two expansions as much as humanly possible. Shame on BW for doing what they did, they seem to have forgotten SWTOR is an MMO -the player character is part of the world not the whole of it. Amateur rookie decision to force funnel the player through to a dead end.
  6. To those of you who are pointing out what various players may like or dislike about the last two expansions in particular in regards to the Sith and Republic diminishment.... I would politely suggest that one may like something that might turn out to be a detriment to the overall life of the game. MMO's are fragile things, their life is dependent on the player's desire to do more in the game's world... Having the player character elevated to a (supposedly) God Emperor status is a risky move, especially for a game that brought us the Legacy system that was promoted as a way to link all the player characters... Either the elevated status is bogus, signifying nothing (which I suspect) or it's a dead end for the player story. Barring some waking up and it all was a bad dream scenario (silly) I can't see how BW can pull its nuts outta the fire... If being emperor of the galaxy is a trick by the devs (which it assuredly is!) to the player, there will be a back lash, a cardinal rule has been broken and BW needs to do some revisions/redactions or very imaginative pivots.
  7. I don't find any fault with what you are stating but I also don't think it is at odds with those who want the MMO theme to be focused on Sith versus Pubs. Both sides have complexities and variances of moral values. The true battle is one of balance between dark and light, both Sith and Republic make up the Yin and Yang of that contest but the expansions serve only to muddy the water and detract from the major theme of the game. IMO
  8. Yes, same here. I am passionate about this because I want to play this MMO for a long time to come having only recently started the game. I am concerned, BW has lost its way from what I have seen. I don't mind single player RPG thrown into the MMO mix, but the balance has shifted so far to the single player overarching focus that the story no longer aligns with a MMO backdrop. The game I am supposed to be playing is Star Wars: The Old Republic. You can't have the player character become God Emperor and still have an MMO which is recognizable -it flushes all the prior content down the tubes -which happens quite a lot anyway in vertically progressed games but this one was a mega-doozy.
  9. To be clear, I never stated I thought /level was "destruction of the game" only that it was a NOMINAL example of skipping content that did have some negative repercussions to the overall game as I briefly described. BW's expansions are TRULY destructive in my opinion and using the FREE character boosts to get to that abhorrent content is just icing on the poison cake. The CAKE is the REAL problem. Avoid the effing cake. Boosts are bad for mmo's they are a confession of dev failure to make gameplay enjoyable, additionally, they are proof that vertical progression games are flawed. BUT the point: the MMO story telling of the expansions is bad form all around and does not fit the MMO genre and has no place in a living MMO progression that should give a fig about a player and how they feel about the game's universe and their role within it.
  10. This, horrid MMO storytelling aside, this is the big problem I have with the Eternal Empire crap. They jumped the shark, pure and simple. Kill this expansion, nullify it or make it entirely optional to progress. I have deleted my boosted character after leveling to 70 in this awful expansion. Very stupid move from BW to ruin the MMO dynamic. They need to pull their collective heads out of their rear and realize that this is an MMORPG not a single player game that ends with winner takes all. I am not going to play a character who presumably rules a galactic empire but has to go kill ten rats to make money.
  11. I suspected but didn't want to be a downer. Yes, I agree...it was a single player RPG diversion completely disconnected from the rest of the real game. But, can you level to 70 with out doing it?
  12. It's poison to the game, BW shouldn't sell it. I have played MMO's for 20+ years, I know a lot about what it normally means to skip content. In Dark Ages of Camelot you could /level (with a few restrictions) it was bad for the game, killed the starter areas and early dungeon content. But BW took it one step further, it made the player character the freaking king of a galaxy...that's crazy, it is where stories go to end and MMO's go to die. PS: the boosted character is deleted, as I indicated I have the game I enjoy back. I hope BW makes this content avoidable in the future...has no appeal to me.
  13. I assume/make believe that there are armor and other counters to the light sabre that mitigate its awesomeness. Otherwise, it is all Eagles for Taxis to Mount Doom.
  14. I haven't PVPed yet, but I will give it a try I am sure at some point if FPS/performance isn't a limitation. I think the game should have kept the Sith versus Republic conflict active and if they were going to change anything, make a third faction without killing or belittling the two existing ones. The game devs seemed to have killed the goose/jumped the shark and boxed themselves in by breaking some cardinal rules when it comes to sustaining a story in an MMO.
  15. Nah, no regrets, I don't want the 70 back, I'll get 70 the old fashioned way, assuming that's possible...but I really do not want to do Knights of the Eternal Throne again, it's a MMO killer for me. Devs need to do something, another path perhaps -anything that doesn't make my chars all "Emperor of a freakin galaxy" I mean, my Scoundrel would think that so ludicrous.
