  1. Yes, and while you're at it, roll the whole thing back to 6.x - Skills, Level scaling, Mods, Renown...
  2. Sadly they won't do a thing about the scamming. There is a secure trading interface. Both parties add all items, then you accept. If someone is stupid enough to not use it and give the credits upfront, it's his fault. With cursing you he has made a mistake though. Reporting him for that is the best you can do. If it is the 1st time, he'll just get a warning, but at least BW will have to act on a harassment-report.
  3. No, It surely wouldn't be fee and rely only on CM, but if they try to ask 120$ (or even 60$) for a conversion of a 10 year old game, they wouldn't sell any copies. I'd expect it to go for 20-30$ and to be included in EA-Play, with the CM-sales doing the rest.
  4. They would simply keep the cartel market. Real-money ingame purchases in Singleplayer/Local-multiplayer-games are not un uncommon thing- especially for EA.
  5. It is that simple. You don't do any merging. Server and client are effectively seperate programs. All they need to do is include the server-side code in the game-download, and change the launcher. Your PC would run the server and then start the client that connects to it. This is handled by the launcher in the background. You don't have to start 2 programs. If you host a MP-game, other people can connect to your server too. This is how basically every game works that has a local-host multiplayer mode.
  6. So you do not only continue with this elitist gearing crap, you make it even worse. Great job.
  7. Absolutely not true. Would the game stop working if only 1 person were logged in? Obviously not. A local version would be just that. Sure, the GTN is pointless then, as is GF, but everything else is fine. If the put some work into it they could have a local/online multiplayer mode with one player as the host, so you could do Coop-questing or run FS. Maybe it could even be possible to do PvP or OPs if the host has a powerful system and fast internet connection to handle the amount of players. That's true, but it's no reason not to do it. I haven't heard of any MMO with a great story and choices that matter before SWTOR.
  8. This is how it did work before they broke it: You stat getting Rested XP when you enter a sanctuary. If you logg-out in a sanctuary you keep accumulation rested XP (up to a maximum) ZUHFB is correct with the server-restart issue. This is an undocumented (and unintentional) feature, due to technical limitations: If they restart the server, character who have not logged in since the restart do not get Rested XP, because the server doesn't "know" if they are in a sanctuary. However you did not loose already accumulated Rested XP.
  9. Sure I could do this, and I realize there are other MMOs that require you to plan your real-life schedule to fit with the game - and I stay away from those games. Far away. SWTOR has never been one of those games, and I'd hate to see that change. Make the software userfriendly, don't require the user adapt to the machine.
  10. Unfortunately that's not a solution at all since your outfit-slots are limited. I'm at max with moste characters and can't add new ones. I think it is. It's the one major issue with the weapons outfitter. With that fixed the outfitter would be fine, but in this state it's a broken mess (unless your combatstyles use the seam weapon) While I'd like to see that too, it's completely off-topic here. This has nothing to do with the Outfitter. Please don't hijack the thread.
  11. While all of this is absolutely correct, you are completely missing the point. It was never in question if they reset. We know they do. Nor was it in question when that happens. It was suggested to remove the reset, as it has not advantages, but is a serious annoyance especially to people who have a real life that doesn't always allow for long uninterrupted gaming session - people who want to start this on one day and continue playing the next day.
  12. Besides being an atmospheric phenomenon (aka northern lights) Aurora is the ancient roman goddess of Dawn, and it is a female fist-name - so surely, you'll find a lot of people named Aurora. Blacklisting it as a character name makes a much sense as blacklisting "John"
  13. This is not a question of challenge. I have as real live that tends to interfere with my hobby, and when I have to close the game, I'd like to pick up where I left, even if that's on the next day or week. Of course this is technically not possible with instanced content las the server will close an empty instance, but for open world content like the Bonus Series there is no technical reason for this. It's just an annoyance, and hoping that the phone doesn't ring before I finish the Bonus Series while I'm on on-call-duty isn't a challenge.
  14. True, but it intended as derogatory when used by elitists. But my question to the OP is: What do you care how other people get their gear? You play the way you want, let others play the way they want. I'm not fond of farming the same content over and over either, and surely nefra/dash are 7.0's Hammer Station. Hammer Station farming was an annoyance to others because it was the only FP that ever came up in GF. This is different as it doesn't affect any one who doesn't want to participate.
