  1. No sir, you are rude the minute you leave the game with the unspoken message "Sorry you all suck, I'm out" You can say you're not "Raging". And maybe you're not quitting out of anger, but convenience, but the only thing you're doing is damaging the person who's going to log into that WZ after you leave and the rest of the team who won't get to learn from your talents and wisdom on good PvP. When you're down 3-0 in huttball to a superior team, use it teach. What went wrong? Where could you have improved? Did the team make mistakes and get out position? Was the healer too effective and not focused down? Did we not root / stun / CC the ball handler effectively when he was on our side of the zone? As a battlemaster presumably you have HUNDREDS of more warzones under your belt than most other PvPers. Maybe we will agree to disagree on the matter, but I find you and the action of quitting, particularly for you, as a BM and someone who I would think then enjoys PvP in general, extremely selfish. PvP in a team environment is not just about YOU and YOUR wins. It's about the TEAM and the players on that team getting better so that maybe they can reach BM someday and get better. Selfishness is selfishness no matter what defense you try to give it. And on a semi related note that I think would help alleviate some of these problems, give the winning team 2X value on its medals for comms and valor. Now this could lead to another problem where you might have more premades steamrolling pugs but it might also encourage more people to farm medals less and play to win since getting 4 medals X2 value would be better than getting 7 medals and losing. Just a thought that I recognizes introduces its own problems but maybe its a starting point for a possible solution...
  2. No, I'm not making assumptions about reasons why you leave. I'm making a blanket statement about the OP and HIS reasons for leaving. And frankly that still isn't convincing to me. I still strikes me as incredibly selfish to leave a warzone before its finished. Now are the other people being selfish trying to score extra medals instead of winning? SURE. I would agree with that, but then set a better example, be a leader, and if you can't lead them, get a group of people together you can lead and win, but it seems incredibly selfish to me for a really good PvPer to leave just because they're losing even if other members of the team aren't playing to win. I know I've learned tons staying in matches that were lost causes. When I see members of the other team who did really well and beat me down, I'm the first person whispering them after, asking their advice (and for operatives asking them to stab me in the face less please ). Have I been guilty of seeing us down 0-3 or 425 to 130 and medal farming? Yeah. I'm guilty of that, I think we're all guilty of that at one point or another, but that still doesn't mean it's not an opportunity to learn. TL;DR If BM players are complaining that people aren't trying to win or that other players aren't good enough, take it upon yourself to teach and help other people get better to give yourself some competition, otherwise qq somewhere else.
  3. Boy that sucks... I mean I guess I understand Bioware not wanting you to get to valor level 60 before you hit 50 (but OMG that'd be crazy grinding just doing warzones all day...) but that type of capping makes me... ugh....
  4. Here is my problem with good players who choose to quit. You're not helping anyone else get better. If you're a Battlemaster PvPer stuck in a bad pug, that happens. Yeah you might lose, but if you're the best player on your team and you decide "Eh whatever, I'm leaving" you're only hurting the other people there who are playing and trying to get better and could / would probably learn alot from watching you play, picking your brain and trying to get better. There's no way to characterize it other than to say "We're losing, I'm leaving" and what that really means is "I feel this team is bad, and doesn't have a chance to win and I'm not interested in helping them get better because I'm clearly just too elite to waste my time, so F*&( You I'm out." Do you realize how rude that actually is? ALSO, when you leave and the NEXT poor sap gets put in your place who probably isn't a BM and wouldn't have helped the team near as much as you have, you've just made his / her day too when they get dropped in the middle of an 0-2 huttball because the teams best player decided to be selfish. I don't care how you try to slice it, quitting a warzone is ALWAYS selfish, I don't care if its you solo versus 8 in a premade, quitting and abandoning your teammates is selfish. / thread
  5. Is your valor level capped at your character level pre 50? I really enjoy playing my healing Merc in pre 50 warzones and I'm level 24 now on this character, but my valor level is currently 24 and it reads 5290 / 5290. And its been this way for the last 2 or 3 warzones from what I've noticed. Do I have to win my next warzone to get my valor level? Or am I capped? Is it some sort of range thing? I just don't know what's going on, any help woudl be great. Thanks.
  6. That's a good point on bags, but it might be helpful to elaborate on HOW to do that. (Actually you can pick up 6 bags from comms on day one as well. you can buy one pre 50 hold it until 50, open it then buy 5 more assuming you get back up to 1000 / 1000 comms) Obviously you can try to play 15 warzones in a day and win them, but if you're average warzone takes 12-15 minutes, even at 10 minutes that's 150 minutes assuming you go 15-0... which by the way ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. Your daily on day one of hitting 50? Maybe. But Ilum is broke and with a little work and luck you could probably complete that weekly in one day.
  7. Let me put another option out there... PvP in PvE gear.. NOW WAIT DON'T BURN ME YET! I'm not saying that you do it forever, but if your problem is getting some initial gear to start making a dent, do a couple HM FPs get a couple columni pieces, maybe save some tionese crystals for an okay PvE weapon and then you'll have a couple more HP, you'll survive a little longer, you'll do more damage (even if not as much because you'll lack expertise) but consider that as an optional bridge to get you into a place where you'll feel more competitive.
  8. Ummm... maybe I'm dumb, like seriously... but in both pre and post 50 PvP, I'm not sure why anyone would need to quit a warzone? I mean are you just not interested in getting the playing experience and getting better? I mean do you not WANT the commendations or the valor leveling? I'm asking this seriously, right now is it more efficient to just quit at the first sign of a loss? Because if so, I feel like I've been doing it wrong sticking it out through wins and losses... I mean sure I understand you need that 3 per day and the 15 wins per week which is fine, but do you expect to go 15-0? What am I missing that makes quitting a strategically superior option?
  9. Yeah, this is my first Republic story (50 Sorc / 50 Sniper / 20 Merc) and I'm to Taris now (which by the way, seeing Taris on Republic just feels strange.... its so sunny outside...) and... right now I feel like "Really? Look at me go across the galaxy curing these losers..." Of course I'm having tons of enjoyment being a complete B$#%* DS Shadow to everyone so THAT is amusing, but the actual class story itself seems meh... but Shadow is fun to play, and I really enjoy tanking with the Shadow so far so there ya go. But for the record, Imperial Agent Story is AMAZING. PERIOD.
  10. Okay so I hit 50 and I've got myself parked at Ilum, having completed my class quests, I'm wondering where do I begin going from here and in what order so that I can start to gear up for hard mode FPs and eventually Operations? Should I be starting with say Directive 7 / Battle for Ilum / False Emperor on normal mode splashed in with Ilum dailies for a while and then start HM FPs like BT? Someone help me lay out a progression for 50+, I'm willing to go, I'm just not sure where to start or what end game progression looks like.
  11. I know Diplomacy does and I think Diplomacy gives the greatest variety of Companion Gifts.
  12. I'm a Level 5 LS Sith Inquisitor... make the choices you want to make... seriously. My character failed Sith School, he was a slave and couldn't accept the philosophy of his overseers, but that was his personal decision. Also, if you want to grind LS or DS at some point, Diplomacy, seriously. It's so easy to get exactly what you want (on top of companion gifts for affection)
  13. Okay, through my personal class quests (45 Sith Sorc) I've had very little difficulty. I mean the fight at the end of Act 1 (I don't know how to use spoilers and don't want to spoil) was fairly difficult, and I'll admit I died the first time but that's because I didn't know what the mob could do... once I realized what killed me I hit my interrupt and the fight was a face roll. To the person who said they're always finishing #1 in their BG and having trouble with class quests, I call BS. If you're always number one in you're Warzones you'd be raking in so much XP that you should be WAY outclassing your Class Quests. Maybe you're stuck in PvP equipment instead of PvE (although the general consensus is that PvP gear is fine for PvE with the possible exception of hard mode operations). But really, class quests, not that hard. The game is designed around you using your companion and using stims that are dirt cheap that provide free buffs for AN HOUR and a free buff that every class gets that lasts for an hour... Now, if the OP had said "I'm new to MMO's and I'm having trouble." that'd be one thing we could get someone on the OPs server to hold their hand and help them along, but please this crying about difficulty has to stop... Seriously, in most PvE situations, the only time you'll die is when your companion accidently agroes a second group, you forget how to use CC, OR you die intentionally because you've already used quick travel and its not off cool down yet.
  14. Well some people I guess just need that extra help to get through those space missions before they're high enough level to use level 3 ship eqiupment? Quite frankly, I'm still begging Bioware to increase the difficulty or give us hard or nightmare versions of the space missions because right now, while I enjoy the free dailies for the XP and fleet commendations... I can do them all with my eyes closed.
  15. Okay, for anyone who says these things are hard... I really don't know what to tell you other than to go play Starfox on the SNES because these things are CAKE. Like seriously my complaint is that these things need HARD AND NIGHTMARE modes because you can complete all the space missions to level 25 without a single upgrade and if you really want a cakewalk level 1 equipment for your ship makes it a click fest with no fear. You know what, I shouldn't say that, I understand there are some people who play MMO's who probably don't have experience with other genres of gaming... but really Space Missions are pretty easy. But seriously why complain about free dailies that give pretty decent XP?
