  1. Yep, no issue. (: It'd be nice to see a BioWare post on this, though.
  2. Proton Torpedoes are necessary for hardmode missions but for the regular ones are more trouble than they're worth. I unequip them. The first thing is that proton torpedoes are only usable on major targets, exclusively the bridges of capital ships and the communications spikes on the undersides of space stations, each taking 2 missiles to destroy. You point your reticule at them, hold down right click until the target is painted (relayed to the player by a large flashing oval with an X inside) and then release the button before the target is lost. It's an aggravating system, because you have to keep your reticule on the target you want to paint while your ship is moving. But it's the only way to complete these objectives in hardmodes. Now this is frustrating because these targets are destructible quite easily with regular missiles in normal missions with far less headaches, but if you have proton torpedos equipped you cannot fire regular missiles on capital bridges or communications spikes.
  3. Honestly, I think that as long as you have the Grade 7 weapons systems, Electronic Warfare and EMP modules Improved Power Conversion Module and proton torpedos, they might be doable. The hardmode missions require very active dodging. If you try to facetank everything you're going to get splattered, even with Grade 7 parts. The Grade 7 parts just improve your margin for error a little bit, and make the missions less frustrating for repeat visitors. I still hate Cha Raaba though. Whoever designed this mission, give me your mailing address so I can send you a gift box full of dog *****.
  4. I really like them, myself. Especially the hardmodes. I do them daily. The other space missions are almost insultingly easy, but the hardmodes have an actual challenge to them that could be compared to the Rebel Assault game that I feel like they were derived from. It's upsetting that something that should be just fun is instead made so frustrating by the painful grind to obtain parts to even be able to attempt them.
  5. For 3 pieces, yes. The remainder are obtained with comms, one of which is obtained with 200,000 credits. The point is that there is no real reason for this to be a collections item if it doesn't function like a collections item, when there is no reason for it to not function like any other collections item.
  6. It's supposed to say 10, it was really late (or early, depending) when I wrote this. xD
  7. I guess I just haven't bought anything from the Cartel Market with stats, because I've never noticed this. I still disagree with this decision, though, as Starship parts do not in any way upset the game for any other player. It just makes life easier for the account holder, and puts money in BioWare/EA's pocket in the process.
  8. It hasn't escaped my notice that they're no longer in the Cartel Market. Frankly, I think the reasoning is stupid as it's not BioWare's fault if players are too dense and/or lazy to read the tooltip which could clearly state that these items are not for Galactic Starfighter. But that's not what this post is about. I noticed recently that the grade 7 Starship parts are collections items. ... And despite my best efforts, I have not found a way to buy the right to reclaim them on my other characters so that I don't have to grind out the 2,000 Fleet Commendations to outfit each of them. ... What is the reasoning for this? The only reason I can think of that this is the case is to motivate people who enjoy Space Missions to subscribe. Or to have to buy weekly passes as free/preferred players can only do three missions per week without them, and the amount of real money spent on either of those things is far greater than the money that would be spent on Cartel Coins to unlock them in collections. Don't give me any BS about the items being BoE or about allowing players to simply reclaim them unbalancing the game because that doesn't seem to stop you at all when it comes to colour crystals or adaptive equipment. Which is reclaimed in a BoP state and I'm sure it hasn't escaped your notice what a huge advantage +41 stats are at level 10, or how easy it is for someone with a high level crafter to keep a leveling character outfitted with prototype or artifact mods that are far superior to any leveling gear that might be available. And that's not even starting on the fact that Starship parts don't in any way affect other players. I just want to be able to throw the $6 at the collections so that my soon to be third level 50 can jump straight into hard mode space missions without the frustration of my other two 50s having to grind out the comms to help outfit their ship first. I'm sure I'm not the only one, and I'm sure this really isn't hard to make happen with minimal impact on other players, including the crafters that don't usually bother to make these things because they don't sell well. Thanks.
