  1. Just a quick question since I searched the forums and couldn't find it, do the Legacy Story Experience Boosts apply to the Epic Story Boost as well? It would be nice to know prior to getting them for my character that I'm leveling at the moment.
  2. While I enjoy this MMO the most of those which I have played, I still would have rather had Kotor 3. Don't get me wrong, I love the story in this game, but I hate the MMO grind. In the Kotor games I enjoyed the combat because it wasn't always shoved in my face, in fact I happily took out every enemy in the games. I enjoyed combat at first in TOR, but these days it just feels like a chore, and I actively avoid mobs as much as I can, unless a bonus mission requires it. I have noticed many others do the same. Repetitive combat and mobs has always been my least favorite thing about any MMO. PVP is alright, but I say give me a purely skill based PVP experience like Republic Commando or Jedi Knight any day. I am not a TOR basher, far from it really, but I will never be an MMO lover. I love the story, I just wish I could have it without all the MMO grinding.
  3. I look forward to it as well, but it would be silly not to repeat certain events, especially when the work and assets are already there to be used. I do agree about what another player said about having different rewards each time, keeps it fresh for the vets.
  4. I personally think that the lack of swimming was them not wanting to put the effort into it when there are much more important things to focus, just as flight would be on the backburner for a long time as well if it ever is implemented.
  5. Interesting to see the varied viewpoints on flying in MMOs. While I see some of the arguments, others I don't for instance, having it be a high level character perk doesn't allow people to skip the whole game. Also, as for people who say it ruins mob placement, does anyone actually enjoy fighting mindless mobs? Mobs are my least favorite part of any MMO I have ever played. They seriously make combat a chore rather than fun. That's why I preferred the way that KOTOR didn't have respawning foes, except in a few instances, and that was only once in certain areas. I see most people go out of their way to skip mobs, and most know the perfect paths to fight the fewest in FP and OPS. The PVP aspect I understand more, but even that could be handled if incorporated well, I loved City of Heroes PVP after all. As for resources, it would take a lot of resources, hence the reason I said I would like to see it years down the line. And lets face it, some of the planets definitely have room for interesting expansion. I honestly don't see the engine being a problem flight-wise either, Taxis are proof that it can be done. The lack of swimming is just due to the fact that they didn't view it as worthwhile to add, but who knows, maybe we'll see that years down the line as well. All in all, I agree that the game can't support as it is now, but it is only a year old, who's to say where things could be several years down the line. I would love to one day fly a Thranta threw the mountains of Alderaan.
  6. Exactly this, I think it would be years down the pipeline, but it would still be nice to get at some point. More immediately, I do agree with others who have stated that they want a proper space expansion as well as more story content.
  7. I have seen some pretty bad behavior as well as noob friendly behavior. I am new to MMOs other than some limited City of Heroes experience. I have had some really helpful players show me the ropes. But I have had other players that were just unnecessarily rude to me and other teammates. For instance, ran a FP with a random group of people. Three of us initially, they invite one more, but they don't wait for him to join us. I ask if we are going to wait for him and the tank just says "no". No reason why, just short. The new guy asks if he should leave, but they tell him just to catch up, not taking into consideration that he could run into any mobs we skipped. He finally catches up and things are going alright until he mentions to the tank that they can use forcepush to knock foes off of cliffs to kill them quicker. The tank proceeds to sit down, saying nothing. We both ask what is going on, no reply. Finally 4 or 5 minutes later the tank finally replies, "you tank since you obviously know so much". After which the group leader kicks the guy. Needless to say I left the group as well, and put those two players on the ignore list. That tank in particular was particularly obnoxious, I could see that behavior more had the guy been rude back, but he just gave friendly advice, which the tank started using once they kicked him. Also spacebarring people get under my skin, especially when they spam chat, they should specify speed run or spacebarring run ahead of time, because I play for the story, not for gear and xp runs, I prefer to take card of my gear needs through crafting anyhow. Now I actively let people know that I will not be spacebarring on missions I have not done before. A little common courtesy goes a long way, and thankfully most people that I have played with have been very nice and helpful.
  8. Obviously, that isn't the issue though. Why I said several years down the line. I love space flight sims more than the average gamer, I still wish Lucasarts would release another proper X-Wing game.
  9. Interesting, in that case maybe several years down the line we might see a flight update, but I'm not holding my breath, especially with the Datacron issue.
  10. Just curious as to whether other MMOs similar to TOR have flight for exploration purposes? I would love to see this someday, but Datacrons would no longer be challenging and who knows how much of the scenery with in the player zone is really solid and not just for looks, I'm willing to bet much of it isn't solid since that would be a waste of developer time at the moment.
  11. I wholeheartedly agree that romance doesn't matter, but I still think it wouldn't hurt to disable it for certain species. Ugh, I forget about the Selonian, that was Corran Horn wasn't it?
  12. Trandoshans and humans is more extreme than what is in canon and Trandos can speak basic and are humanoid.
  13. That is the truth, but not in some of the instances this would create. Honestly I don't think the romance option matters either, but it would make sense to turn it off in some cases due to lore issues.
  14. I am just curious as to whether there is a quest gear guide out there, that way we know which missions give sweet orange gear. I have been playing most all the missions on my first play through the game, but doubtless I will be skipping a lot of stuff with my alts. A guide would come in handy in that case.
