  1. target nearest enemy reliably targets the nearest enemy for me, I have it on my 'Z'.
  2. A man with a bruise on his arm goes to see his doctor about it, he says "doctor, this hurts when I poke it", and so the doctor responds "stop poking it then". Who said you can afford everything, all the time? That crafting was a magic money tree? A) take slicing, that is a magic money tree. B) roll all of your alts and take slicing on all of those. C) dont try to get every slot for you and your companion purple every level, just replace things that are like 10 levels obsolete every so often and stay focused on progressing. D) people can do 4 man instances to keep their gear up to snuff, so demand on the gtn is going to be fairly underwhelming.
  3. Right, I can manage 40, you can't manage 5. You know you dont need to attack each one as you go through right? you can just hit the button again till the one you wants lights up. "true pvper"? I get results, you cry on the forum about how this isnt a wow clone. /thread
  4. Maybe you should read the thread? he wanted a target closest button- there is one. Now, as I already mentioned, the rest of you have severely unrealistic expectations- you want one button that will magically pick the one enemy that you want? please . tab only tabs between things in your view, so by zooming in and angling your view you can cut the pool of enemies you are targeting- particularly in ilum. if you are tabbing through 60 enemies, looking for that needle in a haystack, you're not going to have a good time and frankly they are NOT going to be able to engineer a way around your inability to learn to play. Im ranged dps and the tab system is PERFECT. On Ilum I tag everything and everyone, all day every day. "fixing" the tab system in the way you scrubs want it breaks my feature of being able to tab through the whole enemy zerg tagging each with confidence that I am taking the most efficient route, getting each once before I see a guy a second time (neglecting of course people coming and going due to death, fleeing, ruses etc) PERFECT.
  5. YOU HAVE IT Press esc, preferences, key bindings tab at the bottom- look for TARGET NEAREST ENEMY. THIRTY NINE PAGES OF FAIL
  6. Tab targetting works fine, just tilt your screen in a way so you only have the things you actually care about in your field of vision. makes tagging everyone in an enemy zerg on ilum a breeze. Theres also a target closest, I have it hot keyed to z.
  7. Sides yes, beyond that if you find yourself in the losing position after the dust settles in the initial scuffle, you MUST be willing to risk a 3 cap to take sufficient force against the enemy's second cap and this must be done QUICKLY; while there are still too many repubs standing around right assuming you will continue to stream in, foolishly, one by one- all 8 of you have to smash mid from the one guy that thinks he is so very clever for winning what he didnt have to fight anyone for. Let me reiterate, if you are losing, "defending" that one point you do have makes you dead weight, if they wanted it, they would send 3, but instead they are just going to cruise to an easy, no risk win because they only have to fight a 8 vs 6or7 war to hold 2 points.
  8. as long as they reward people for doing it, people will do it. cut the particpation rewards and make it just winning and medals and everything will be fine.
  9. pvp the whole way up, not just for the rewards (you want to have a bag in your bank and both commendations maxed for when you hit 50 so you can open 6 bags on the spot, plus that days dailies and the weekly for wz's and ilum for a grand total of 14 bags the first day, starting you out to a galloping start on your pvp sets) but also so that you know what youre doing by the time you're 50. play with a team. skip the heroics, too much time to invest, you can come back for the flavor later, so what if you can solo it, maybe you solo it for a group that is failing and refusing to quit and make their day? skip the auction house, unless something is like 10 levels behind, dont waste time obsessing over it. dont obsess over crafting either, send people out for more companion gifts whenever they get back and then dump all that stuff on the gtn for the default value as fast as you can and keep moving. get off the forums. skip quests that are grey, skip quests that are grey and will probably go green. I skipped all of tat and never made it to coru, theyre still there though if I feel like going back.
  10. yeah sucks about outlaws den, but I gotta get my rant on... ilum, empire vastly outnumbers republic, whenever a republic wants it, they just show up, roll through get theirs and leave, on their merry way to ev or whatever, no reason, nor incentive to hang around and press buttons again and again- least of all for the enemy factions benefit. when the empire wants it? oh thats an event, some people will stand around out there for hours (queing pvp matches all the while mind you, but still, no raiding) just waiting for a republic to come out and press buttons for them, when one scurries through, you might synch up and catch a breath of fresh air, but some other imp is probably going to smash it immediately so he can follow in the republics wake without falling off the gravey train himself. So it makes sense to roll an alt, get it up to the point it can fly to ilum and be the hero of the guild, some people are benevolent enough to stay out there with their alt and toggle the switches a few more times for the stragglers that came galloping out of their heroics and hard modes at the news that republic was swapping on ilum. you killed their guildy and you're surprised they yelled at you? the whole server is pvp, with pvp warzone matching on top and you insist on doing it in the only place you need the other faction to press buttons for you?
  11. economy based on cash is easy prey to gold sellers, a culture based on people accomplishing things so that they can then go on and accomplish other things is "functional". if only we could do something about people afking in battlegrounds being rewarded for doing so... oh yeah, no points for playing; commendations and winner points only.
  12. "doctor, it hurts when I poke this!" "Well, stop doing that." Try buying it on the auction house for cheaper, or maybe selling the things you make for a profit, especially companion gifts, or look into what levels your skill most effectively. Also, bad news on the crafting skill choice, you can buy a pvp weapon from about 6 games played (even if you lose them all, assuming you are able to get your commendation medals), which will totally dwarf anything at your level, even the crafted stuff.

regardless of level, learn to play first; if you never played a game of baseball and accepted an invitation to the company picnic without making any effort to learn the basics, well so much for ever getting promoted or being placed into any position of responsibility; youll miss the direct feedback you get online in comparison to when people stop talking as you enter a room. higher level toons get more tricks, but lower levels can still contribute, just use all of what you have and pressure their healers/throw the ball/use your potions/run away when you can if your should etc
  14. what exactly are the hazards in huttball again? Environment.
  15. ok, so they hold it for x amount of time... then they play musical chairs and each cordially hold a different spot rinse repeat- exact same lame duck. heres an idea- tough npcs defending the things, so people have to group up and interact with eachother, this makes it a thing, as opposed to a "gosh no ones on, better go out to ilum and press buttons" non event. and another- after a certain amount of inactivity, with no one with a pulse defending the site, have each node revert to its own factions control. most of all, give a reward for defending.
