  1. One healer outhealing 3 highest dps combined. Maybe we want to expand this philosophy to the balance of damage and healing? This current system is certainly not yielding an enjoyable experience in PvP content.
  2. After several days of warzones, combat is still as tedious as ever. As a tank in all dps gear I survived a 1v5 for easily over 60 seconds. My arsenal mercenary has survivability that rivals my defense guardian. I'm seriously considering changing my seer to telekenetics because I've played many multiple games as a seer where neither team could get past the initial doors in voidstar. I feel confident in saying: You have missed the mark of your philosophy. Maybe we're not hitting hard enough. Maybe defensives are still too strong, regardless of not being as plentiful. Maybe at higher gear level things will feel better (although, I doubt this one is much of a possibility). Any other suggestions? -------------------------------------
  3. Allowance to purchase upgrades and change your setup while in GSF queue would be nice. Let's be honest: the matchmaking isn't exactly airtight. I doubt this would have a noticeable affect.
  4. Ah, that's the problem. I was checking values after the box showed what I was "going to receive" when in fact I had already received it and the collect mats button does nothing. #userfriendly. Love it. Thanks for the insight.
  5. I deconstruct gear, the small window comes up as usual showing what came from the deconstruction except it is grayed out and I can barely see what I'm supposed to receive. When I check my inventory/currency/materials, no values change.
  6. I didn’t say anything during the PTS because the dev team explicitly mentioned that UI designs were not complete. Now is the time, however, to call out the creative/artistic director(s) of the ability trees. https://www.engadget.com/2011-10-31-mists-of-pandaria-the-myth-of-the-talent-tree-choice.html Whatever individual or team was behind the creative development of the new talent trees has quite literally implemented a nearly-exact-replica of a World of Warcraft system originally introduced 10 years ago and still in place today. This is practically plagiarism (just like the original talent trees at launch). If you submitted work like this in a university program, would you graduate or be expelled? It’s not like WoW is a burger joint, SWTOR is a rival burger joint, and this ability tree is just a burger. Look at Guild Wars 2, look at Elder Scrolls Online, both have unique character customization. All this dissatisfaction being expressed on the forums, it’s pretty easy to identify the sources (there is a link above to an article published 10 years ago that voices much of the current and PTS feedback from SWTOR players). These relentless bugs, this uninspired creative/artistic work, it makes us feel like you don’t care. I trust that’s not the case but that’s the natural, knee-jerk reaction. Just off the top of my head, here is a more interesting approach to ability customization: Tech Combat characters open a crate of armor, weapons, grenades, and healing hardware. Different customizations are represented as you hover over different items in the crate. Force Combat characters open a datacron with different images of swordsmanship and damaging, defensive and restorative force powers. Different customizations are represented as you explore the datacron. You’re working with one of the most legendary, highest grossing intellectual properties of all time. They’re is no lack of content to pull from. There is no lack of interest in an awesome multiplayer Star Wars game. Any issues with player retention and subscription/income are surely self inflicted. I feel so badly for the people involved in SWTOR that put their heart and soul into their work because, clearly, other people involved are ABSOLUTELY PHONING IT IN.
  7. TLDR: You aren’t spending enough time in development. Take the time to do things right the first time; you’ll feel better, your fans/subs will feel better, your subs will grow by desire and recommendations. The first thing I did in 7.0 was walk off the stone bridge in the combat style selection scene. Naturally, you hit an invisible floor, take not enough fall damage to kill you, and then “/stuck”. Take a look at this known issues list: https://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=10002130&postcount=1 It’s truly laughable. Shameful, even. You’ve forced us all into a beta. Releasing unfinished, unpolished product is the root of every problem this game has. There’s no excuse for it; EA is a $40 billion company. It doesn’t matter that debugging is practically searching for needles in haystacks or that most of the original team is no longer on the project. If any of us in our professional duties delivered products like this, we would face outrage and lose customers too. Do you know how outstanding it is (in the worst possible light) that this game still has bugs in its 10th year that it had at launch [e.g. players being force pushed through floors/ players showing on ground level when they’re actually on a catwalk/ etc]? SWTOR has permanently damaged this studio’s reputation. The performance and products that have caused that damage have persisted for a decade. I assume EA is at fault by imposing unreasonable expectations with impossible resources. Unfortunately for your player base, there is nothing that we can do about that and we absolutely NEED a BioWare member to protect us and BioWare itself from these unfinished releases. But, for whatever reason, that has never happened. Without a doubt this costs you players; it’s the reason I left in 1.0 after having built a computer specifically for launch and waiting in line at midnight for the collector’s edition. Regardless of who is at fault for the consistently unfinished products that are released to us, the solution is clear and has been since the original launch of the game: your projects are not spending enough time in development. If someone at EA is pressuring you to release things when they’re not ready, you need a BioWare employee that can push back against that pressure. If that BioWare representative keeps getting steamrolled and needs more ammunition for their argument, use all this consumer engagement from your forums. This seems to be a viscous cycle. You release unfinished products because you’re over budget, you lose subs because of unfinished product, your next project goes over budget because you lost subs on the last one so you release another unfinished product, you lose subs, add infinitum until someone else releases a competitive Star Wars game and SWTOR dies completely. I’m sure the individuals at BioWare have worked very hard on this release. It is very unfortunate for all of us that your releases never get the full time they deserve. As always, I hope for the best in the future. Maybe year 11 is when the plot twists…
  8. https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=426525 https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=790949 Honestly, we don’t even need an app for the forums; it could largely be solved by having a mobile version of the website. It’s unbelievable that SWTOR doesn’t have a mobile version of their website—EA is a $40 billion company.
  9. Why are these tacticals not being replaced with 3,000 tech fragments and 1,000,000 credits?
  10. I know this has been asked for many times in the past and I’m happy to bring it back into the current conversation: a mobile app for the official forums would surely dramatically increase engagement with players. Using the website on mobile is quite unpleasant. Thanks!
  11. I logged onto a new bounty hunter on the PTS to see how things have come along in the past 4 months or so. I wandered around the fleet desperately searching for a droid to boost me to level 80. I came to the forums scrounging around for a post with instructions on how to get boosted to level 80. I sifted through youtube videos trying to find some path to boosting to level 80 and finally found that you just can't do that with an Empire character (unless you get your personal starship and go to Odessen). This is an absolutely ridiculous obstacle for people wanting to look at abilities, loadouts, etcetera. Obviously I'm not going to sink hours of time into the PTS to grind from level 1 to get my Personal Starship. And yes, I know I can just create a character on the Republic and do things on their fleet. But, now instead of being interested in what's going on with the PTS, I'm quite irritated about having wasted 40 minutes trying to find something that was never there; so irritated that I thought it was important to share this experience on the forums. I get that programming is difficult and, like me, your programmers are trying to spend their valuable time on projects other than the PTS. I get that there are plenty of threads on this forum and one of them may contain details that would've spared me my very not-fun scavenger hunt. But I don't read the forums every day. Checking the threads that seemed relevant (getting started on the PTS, what's new on the PTS, etc.) didn't get me the information I needed. It's essentially nonsense that I had to find a youtube caster to tell me why I couldn't find the droids I was looking for. I believe there is a self-evident lesson about user-friendliness here. I would have much rather been playing the PTS than writing this post. And, had I not written this post I would be much more likely to report more valuable feedback from the PTS content. Food for thought.
  12. This is really putting a damper on my testing. I swear I just watched a video of Kogass doing some warzones on the PTS. Maybe that was a custom game? Can anyone else queue for matches?
  13. The bug: The PvP terminal is offering only daily/weekly GSF missions while not offering daily/weekly warzone missions to one of my characters, lvl 58 at the time. The first ticket: 38528070 The response: "...working as intended as you get daily and weekly missions only on level 75 characters..." The rebuttal: Demonstrably false on at least 10 characters on my own personal account; no need to seek verification. The second ticket: 38539057 The response: "...there is a point where there are no missions available for a character before level 75. [Lower] level characters get PvP missions until a certain level, then there is a gap, then you get the new ones..." The rebuttal: Evidently false from at least 9 different characters on my account that leveled from below 58, to 58, and beyond 58 all using daily/weekly warzone and GSF missions. The third ticket: 38542494 The response: "...there is no other option but to level up the character to level 75. Since we have checked all the possibilities ... no further options are available... and no further investigation will be performed." I'm assuming the liaison answering these tickets was misinformed on the first two which is disappointing but understandable. Based on these ticket numbers, there are thousands of tickets submitted each day which surely is a difficult task to sort. The third ticket is infuriating because it still doesn't state the truth, i.e. this is an isolated case that is not worth anymore time. I pre-ordered the collector's edition of this game and even built a new computer for it in 2011. I had abandoned this game before it's first anniversary because of bugs like this and the attitude toward bugs like this. Almost 10 years later, it is very discouraging to see the same issues and same mentality toward these issues. At the very least be honest with me as a subscriber--We do not have the spare investigation/programming capacity to resolve this issue. We hope that upon leveling this character to level 75 the issue will resolve itself with the new versions of weekly/daily missions that are offered. Don't say that you "...have checked all the possibilities." If that were the case, the issue would be resolved. I want to play this game and play in the Star Wars Universe but issues and incidents like these steadily erode that desire.
  14. I already addressed this. Apparently I need to address it again. ----I don't expect lvl 50 PvP gear to provide any leverage in bolstered PvP.---- Let's consider why the bolstering system is in effect. It's sole purpose is to equalize the stats of differently geared and leveled players, allowing them to effectively PvP. This systems very concept and existence allows players to not gear up for low level PvP. Pay attention, this part's important: ***A level 10 with SEVEN empty item slots bolsters better than a returning level 50 with some of the best PvP gear available at launch*** (Specifically, the level 10 had over 1000 expertise while the level 50 had only in the 700s). . This situation is contradictory to the bolstering system itself. The fact that the gear is outdated should not be considered. If a level 10 is not required to fill the 7 empty slots in their gear before participating in PvP then a returning player should not be required to replace all 14 item slots before participating. Suggestion: Design he bolstering system where a player with 14 full item slots bolsters at least as good as someone with 7 full, 7 empty. Suggestion: Find a solution to the way gear with expertise bolsters compared to how gear without expertise or empty slots bolster.
  15. I don't understand how you extrapolated this from the OP.
