  1. Already purging posts to make it look like people actually support the nerfs. Can't say I'm surprised. They pulled that same stunt with the ability pruning junk too and even tripled down on dev-splaining why they're right and we're wrong and they know what's best for us.
  2. Ah so you mean address the root of the problem instead of nerfing the payout. And you're still clinging to the "nerf the rep token payout" instead of having made rep tokens harder to get in the first place because why? Same concept.
  3. It's a jerk move but not an exploit. Even then you just prove my point for me that the devs don't listen. They've had how many years to combat AFK in pvp? Point still stands, I'm not going to walk on eggshells around people because they don't like facing the reality you can do literally nothing in pvp and get a full bar of conquest. Yet somehow I'm expected to believe my eating a rep token is a problem. Trying to blame me for someone abusing it is like trying to blame news reporters for bank robbery because they covered the story. If we're going to address issues with the game we may as well cover all the bases.
  4. The only "reasonable compromise" is them undoing the nerf completely since it didn't need to happen. You have no grounds to complain about rep tokens when you can literally afk in PVP and get a full bar of conquest to the tune of over 1m conquest in a week. But the 301k of the rep token was the problem? And no you're not talking about a buff, you're still leaving it in a nerfed state because 20k-25k is still less than the 43k from before. At least the rep tokens require you to farm them out and actively engage with the game to earn them vs doing nothing in pvp and pretending you've accomplished something. You've still yet to answer my question, when are we nerfing the pvp objectives into the ground to and applying that same logic? Simply because people aren't playing the same way as you doesn't make their play less valid than yours. You are not the end all be all of players, nor is your way of playing the only way of playing. If they value their customers and bottom line they will undo the nerf. Time will tell if they do or not.
  5. I'm not deleting anything. I don't promote it either but I'm not going to pretend it doesn't happen either. Like it or not this is a discussion that's long overdue.
  6. If they actually played as much as they want us to believe they would've realized that the pvp weeklys for starfighter and pvp matches pay out far far more points and people can literally afk it. Not that I want the pvp objectives nerfed because I'm glad those folks have something. But it's funny they'll whine about the rep thing paying out too much even though we had to actively engage with the game to get it done and get the token to start with, but sitting afk in a pvp match and doing nothing to get a full bar was okay.
  7. Do you understand how delusional that logic is? You're seriously sitting here arguing a rep token that pays out 43k a day or 301k a week is the problem even though it requires active engagement with the game to have earned the token in the first place. Yet doing a repeatable pvp weekly quest where you can literally AFK and do nothing to earn 100k+ conquest per day for anywhere from 700k-1m in a week in the time it takes the average group to do ONE flashpoint is perfectly fine. So 301k a week for "only 2 or 3 minutes of work" is a no go, but 700k to 1m a week for doing literally nothing is normal? You're basically advocating they punish people for daring to do pve content and actively engage with the game to earn rep tokens, vs joining your or others in pvp and galactic starfighter and doing nothing. My brother in the Force, you really need to step back and look at what you're arguing before you post again. You're seriously sitting here trying to justify why you should be allowed to do 20 minutes of nothing for doing a pvp objective and get paid 100k+ of conquest, but I shouldn't be given 43k for actively engaging to earn rep tokens to start with. In the 20 minutes you've spent doing literally nothing in pvp, that same 20 minutes will get the average group through 1 flashpoint, maybe 2 if it's a shorter one and the group is moderately geared and knows what to do. Your 20 minutes is netting you a full bar of 100k+ for sitting afk, mine is netting me 59k (43k +8k +8k) with required active engagement if I'm lucky. Yet somehow I'm expected to believe I'm the one being greedy. Oh no, poor PVPers having to sit a whole 20-30 minutes in queue doing nothing only to join the match and do another 20 minutes of nothing. PVPers have it so hard having to click a whole 5 buttons at most and avoiding the AFK flag that I just don't know how they keep logging in every day and doing it when it's such a slog. Seriously dude, spare us the sob story of terrible wait times. Most of those people sitting in that queue don't do anything but yack in fleet chat talking about things that would make even the Dark Side itself cringe, only to join said matches to go AFK for another 20 minutes while complaining the match takes too long. You seriously think the PVP crowd is the only ones that have to deal with wait times? Have you seen the wait times for master mode FPs or the story OPs? Wait in queue 40+ minutes a few times then get back to me that. Now with that said, wait times are irrelevant as said prior. But even then let's say I were to count it, that's 40 minutes of you doing literally nothing and getting paid 100k or more conquest points vs my same 40 minutes of being able to get through 3 flashpoints, 4 if I'm lucky, which will net me 67k points (43k +8k +8k +8k). Assuming you hit one of the dailies that are worth 143k points to sit AFK which is 2.1 times the points I'm getting paid to actively engage with the game. You say you don't support going AFK in any kind of content, pvp or pve because it ruins other people's enjoyment of the game. Yet you're trying to justify paying the people going AFK in pvp and not playing the game more than 100k+ in conquest, all while simultaneously saying people who were given 43k for a rep token they earned by actually playing the game and engaging in the pve content were overpaid. So quite frankly yes you do in fact support people going AFK and not playing the game despite you claiming otherwise. I'm also very glad that you mentioned not ruining other people's fun, because by encouraging a reward for people going AFK you're doing exactly that. Since you're concerned about other people having fun too, you should be arguing against the nerf to the rep objective since that too devalues the fun of others but undercutting the things they play. They are straight telling you that their fun is being ruined and effected by this. Now lastly as another person already pointed out, you don't get to finish your weekly quest without playing at least one match for pvp. Likewise I don't get to pop a rep token without playing at least one mission in pve to earn that token. The only difference in that instance is the mode to do it. Your chosen mode is different than mine and neither side is wrong. It may not be what you personally choose to do and enjoy doing, but your way of playing is not the only way to play and not everyone plays like you. Now I don't want people going AFK in content or to see the pvp objectives nerfed either for the record. But if you're seriously going to sit here and argue for the rep token to be nerfed for doing too little in your eyes, you need to be consistent with it and apply it to the pvp objectives since you can literally AFK them and do nothing to get paid. I'm glad you have objectives that work for you. Right now currently I don't have any objectives that pay anywhere close to what you're getting for yours. In reality I don't want to see your objectives nerfed, I want to see mine buffed because the universe will die of heat death before I ever set foot in pvp or starfighter.
  8. Simple answer is it's not, but people who cling to that logic will never admit it. At least the rep objective required active input. I'm not going to encourage people to go afk in PVP but realistically that's all that's required and they get full bars or more for doing nothing if they want. I don't want to see the pvp stuff nerfed for the record as I'm glad they have some objectives, but if they want to go there then turnabout is fair play and those need to be nerfed too. No reason they should get a free ride when the rest of us don't.
  9. I don't want the pvp objectives nerfed. Nor do I really want to see people AFK in pvp for the record. But if they're wanting to be technical about work being done, that's what can happen. However if people are going to appeal to the ignorance of "it only takes 2 or 3 minutes to get a rep token" to justify the nerf, then we may as well have equality across the board and nerf everything. Otherwise it's unfair to everyone else. I hate the double standards some people are pushing of saying the rep was too much, but the pvp stuff isn't. If folks are going to have a standard they need to be consistent with it. Simultaneously if it ends up happening because people said it was "no big deal because it paid too much for rep" and it ruins their pvp as a result, I don't feel sorry for them because now they'll know how the rest of us feel. I just hate the hypocrisy of some people going around with this stuff.
  10. Considering you can do the pvp objectives for more than 700k per week for the starfighter objective, and then another 1m each for arena and 1m for warzone I don't buy it. All you have to do is sit and get killed over and over and you get over a full bar for doing nothing. Rep objective gave 301k per week MAX. When pvp objectives give more than double or tripple that I don't want to hear it when those don't require you to actively engage beyond making sure you don't get flagged for AFK. With rep tokens I'm required to actively engage to get those and play the game. If say I do 10 flashpoints and get 10 tokens I still did what the game itself required of me and still completed the flashpoints. Whether I cash them out at once or over time is irrelevant to the fact I did the work to make them. If you're concerned about it being too fast to get a rep token, your problem is with the ease of getting the tokens, not the payout. Fix to that is to make the tokens harder to get, not nerfing the rewards. That's literally blaming the players for an "issue" they created. So since the rep thing paid out too much by your logic, when are we nerfing the pvp stuff? Now I'm glad that they have objectives they can do for pvp. So where are the objectives that pay similarly for those of us non-pvp players?
  11. No ignorance is thinking YOUR experience and opinion should be applied to everyone and that your experience is universal to everyone. There are others who play this game differently than you, and those who play differently than me. I'm also willing to bet that you're in 340s or higher with maxed out implants like I am and using a level 50 influence companion. While there are alot out there who are in maxed out gear, there are many more who are not. If you know what to do, and depending on the heroic/mission then it can be stupid easy, even at lower levels. Then there are those that you can't simply sleepwalk through. However that's neither here nor there. Point being, you and I are the exception and not the rule to the general playerbase. Also second point is you do not know what that person did or didn't do in order to acquire their reputation token. Maybe they got the stuff to buy one from flashpoints such as ye old dark spores, maybe they did something to get a token such as a Manan daily like you suggested. Either way they did what was required of them by the game, so what's the problem with it having paid out 40k for a single toon in a day? If your concern is "taking 2 or 3 minutes to do 1 mission and get a token" then the problem isn't the reward but the difficulty in acquiring tokens. That's not the fault of the players it was giving out 40k, but that of the devs making it too easy to get rep tokens to start with. Now with that said if you're going to sit here and say that doing one mission for a rep token shouldn't give 40k conquest, when are similarly nerfing the pvp and starfighter dailys into the ground too? Afterall if the reputation objective shouldn't be giving just under half of a conquest for the week, then a single pvp or starfighter match has no business giving a full conquest bar or more away as a reward. Why should a single starfighter or pvp match give anywhere close to that when you're lucky to get 8k from single flashpoint? Saying that "it only took me 3 minutes to do so it pays out too much" is the equivalent of saying it only took a doctor 5 minutes to diagnose you and get you on your way so he's overcharging you. Yet you're ignoring the medical schooling and everything he did to get to that point. Otherwise who the heck are you to look down your nose at other people and say "you're not doing enough" when the game itself said they were. I'm sorry but the rep objective has been there for YEARS and if it was really a problem they've had YEARS to address it and should have done so earlier on. Only reason they're trying this now is to try and increase the grind for no valid reason. I'm so glad you said part of what you did right here about it not mattering how much time it took in the entire week combined. So as I asked above, when are we also nerfing the PVP and starfighter objectives into the ground too since a single match or single quest shouldn't be paying out 100k+ points? You also do not comprehend why the 225k was mentioned so let's do a little math in a second. Setting aside them trying to stealth nerf the objective then try to condescendingly dev-splain it away for the moment. On pure math, 43k * 7 = 301k. This meant the objective was worth 301k points per week as a daily. Now if we take the new value of 8k and multiply that by 7 we get 56k. This means 245k points have been stolen from people with no way to make them up, even though the devs claim they wanted "more variety of objectives" and to have balanced it out. So since you want to do precise numbers they actually owe us the possibility of an additional 245k points per week. The 225k was simply the basic math done at 40k and cut them a break, but since you didn't want to do that here we are. Now let's compare this to the the objectives for Arena/Warzone and starfighter. Starfighter gives out ~ 110k (109,982) per day with arena and warzones giving 143k per day each. For the warzone and arena objectives that's just over 1m conquest for the warzone objective, and another 1m for the arena objective. Then you have the starfighter one at 109k per day at 763k per week. So spare me the complaints about how rep tokens were paying out too much when those objectives give you more than 3 times the amount of conquest the rep token did. With the pvp objectives you don't even have to do anything. You just sit in a queue, let yourself be killed over and over, and collect more than a full conquest bar for doing nothing. But sure let's pretend it's the rep objective paying out too much. If I'm lucky to get 8k per flashpoint and I'm actively having to engage with the game to get said payout, why do you think you should get a full bar or more for letting yourself get nuked over and over? And before you say it, time spent waiting in a queue doesn't count for anything. THAT is why I said it's an ignorant argument. You're complaining about the rep objective when you ignore what people had to do to get those tokens, which is active engagement with the game, while conveniently there's no comment about the pvp and starfighter objectives paying too much. Now I'm glad the pvp guys have objectives they can do. However I'm not a pvp person, so where are my objectives that pay similarly? Oh that's right they're not "doing enough work". So do you still want to cling to that argument, or do you want to admit it's not as good as you think it is?
  12. I really wish people would quit using this ignorant argument because it shows you don't know what you're talking about. There was no reason to nerf it, period. In order to generate that token for the "2-3 minute mission" I still had to play actual content and do work to get the token on the toon. Whether it's heroics, flashpoints, killing a boss, or whatever is irrelevant to the fact I had to do more than just login and click. If I do 10 flashpoints to get 10 tokens, it doesn't matter if I cash them in over 10 days or 10 years, I still did the required 10 flashpoints. It's been where it was for years but only now suddenly it's a problem? Yeah no I'm calling bantha droppings. If they wanted to say it was giving too much for too little, then they should've made it harder to get the rep tokens to start with instead of screwing over the reward. This is quite literally a thing they created, chose to whine about it years later like it was a problem, blame the players for the supposed problem that they as devs created, then punished players for the crime of playing the game as designed. Not to mention the whole trying to stealth nerf it in hoping people wouldn't notice and then trying to dev-splain to us why they're right and we're wrong and how we're all too dumb to know we're not having fun unless we're grinding more with less game. Had they actually put it in the patch notes and didn't try to hide it, along with giving us extra objectives to make up for the stolen 225k points, this would be a much different conversation yet they went the underhanded route. To compare, trying to say the rep objective paid too much is like going to the doctor and them getting you better, then saying the doctor is overcharging you because it only took him 5 minutes to diagnose you and prescribe something. It completely ignores the years of medical schooling and potential practice of medicine that doctor had to do to get to that point. Just like it ignores the work people did to earn that rep token. The "right spot" is them reverting the nerf and putting it back at the 40k where it belongs or reducing the amount of points we need to obtain to hit conquest.
  13. Not only that but if they did this then it would have people out in the world again and not always be as dead as it is on some planets.
  14. That's a very good analogy and accurate. It can also be applied to virtually anything else. It may take a doctor 5 minutes to figure out what's wrong with me and prescribe something for it when I go see them, but look at all the medical school and potential years of practice to get there. Some of these people just look for an excuse to white knight for the devs.
  15. This right here shows me you don't have any clue what you're talking about and also convinces me the devs could death star a planet irl and people would STILL defend them. The fact that you tried to cite this verifiably false argument shows you are just being disingenuous. In order to generate a rep token to "login and click" I had to actually play the game, be it flashpoints, heroics, daily quests or what have you in order to get that rep token. If I do 10 flashponts and get 10 tokens, It's not simply "clicking for 40k points", it's running 10 flashpoints and whatever else before I ever get the chance to click it. Saying people just "log in and click to get 40k for clicking a token" is no different than saying people "log in to spend op catalysts for their gear" and pretending that's all they did. You still have to do work to get the OP catalysts just like you have to do work to get the token. Whether I spend all 10 of our hypothetical tokens at once, over the course of 10 days, or 10 years, the result is the same amount of rep. Also whether I spend those tokens now or years down the road is irrelevant to the fact I did the 10 flashpoints in order to obtain them. The reputation objective has sat just fine at 40k for YEARS but just suddenly now I'm expected to believe it's a problem? Yeah no that's not how that works. That's them trying to increase grind and demanding people play longer for less reward. If they thought the reputation objective paid out too much reward for too little effort, they should've mad rep tokens harder to obtain to start with instead of screwing over the rewards. It's the devs creating a problem, blaming the players for the problem they as devs created, then destroying the rewards for players who did no wrong and played the game AS DESIGNED. There is no scenario in which the devs are innocent in this. As to why people do the grind it's for a number of reasons. The simplest reason is that it's one of the better consistent sources of tech fragments, and now conquest tokens. Conquest tokens can be used to purchase conquest gear and upgrade it to 340. Or you can trade said conquest tokens to FP1s or Op Catalysts. If you're in a small guild or a solo player that doesn't get to do many OPs if ever, that's your only way of ever seeing anything Rakata. Depending on how many toons you have that's also alot of tech fragments for upgrading implants. I don't mind the conquest system as it's something to do. Would I say it's perfect, of course not as no system is. Now if they had nerfed the rep objective while simultaneously lowering the amount of points you need to acquire to get rewards, or put in extra objectives to make up the 225k that was stolen and actually bothered to put it in the patch notes, this conversation would be different. But it's the underhanded attempt at a stealth nerf then them trying to dev-splain why they know all and everyone but them is wrong and how we're too dumb to know we're not having fun unless it's their way. In any MMO you will have some grind and dirty work to do in order to get to the other stuff you want to do, that's just the nature of the beast. Simply because something isn't a person's favorite thing to do ever doesn't mean they automatically must hate it. I do not hate conquest. What I hate is them trying to pigeonhole me into pvp and starfighter to see any kind of reasonable payout for conquest points. I know it's hard for some people to admit, but there are more people in this game than just them. I have nothing against the folks who enjoy pvp or starfighter and I'm glad they've got their objectives. However there are more people in this game than just them. There needs to be more than just the starfighter and pvp objectives that have any kind of decent payout, and so far for awhile now, especially the last 3 weeks, all the objectives with decent payouts have revolved around trying to force everyone into those modes. And if it came down to me doing starfighter/pvp or the game being shutdown forever, then the game dies with me. The heat death of the universe will happen before I ever set foot into one of those cursed modes. I got enough pvp from my WoW days to last a lifetime. If they think I'm not doing enough grinding and want me to do more, give me objectives I actually want to do. Because all that's going to happen from trying to force me into pvp or starfighter is me canceling my sub and them losing a player that's been here and spent money since closed beta, and me telling all of my friends and guildmates not to renew either.
