  1. IMO the 'Skywalker saga' is the weakest Starwars setting. The Old Republic and The High Republic are much more enjoyable.
  2. From that article "I do agree with BioWare that this game is quite complicated. Almost no games are released these days that have remotely close to the number of buttons that SWTOR has." Need I remind said person that two of the most popular mmorpg's in the world right now have more buttons to press and is not considered complicated. (I'm aware they said these days but swtor came out in those days) What I see happening is swtor is moving away from an mmo style game to more of a story game which is fine but the only problem with that is mmorpg tab target combat sucks for a single player game.
  3. For the "ability bloat" people I'm a bit curious. Swtor is a tab target mmorpg it's engagement comes from pressing a keybind on a 1.5 gcd (global cool down) this is how you interact with the world. Most animations and move are stale and generic with particle effect on them, essentially what you are asking for is less engagement. Combat won't magically get better from less abilities to press. You now just have less to do while looking at the same stale generic animation only with less variety now. In games like BDO less is good. It's flashy and satisfying and most abilities change on multiple key presses which adds more depth to its combat. Asking for less is a tab target mmo does not improve it's gameplay, IMO. Maybe it's just me but in a tab target mmorpg I'd rather have 30 keybinds that do unique things then 15 that combine multiple things into one ability. It takes away the strategic choice of the encounters. It reminds me of the one button macros from Rift it was silly you could macro almost an entire rotation into one button in that game. You could macro a stun/snare/execute into one button and take the thought of having to use them strategically. that made pvp a mess and pve was 2-3 button mashing. Going to end here before thing get awkward but I am genuinely curious why having less abilities in a tab target game is good to some even if the abilities are niche they are there to offer player engagements in unique situations.
  4. I feel like they should have had a working concept to showcase.. This whole thing feels very indie dev, like we got presented an idea or proof of concept not yet fully realized yet but it completely changes the way you play the game and effects the entire balance of the game while also being told it will be released in 6 months.. With Bioware/EA recent track record with their IP's I'm not entirely convinced this will go very well. Everyone here has opinions one what they think 7.0 is but no one knows what it actually is and how it will effect the future of swtor and frankly that's a bit scary. That dev stream should have been clear and concise the forums shouldn't be full of people going at each others throats for fear of the unknown. The PTS is a poor excuse of a testing environment the concept they have available was put together with duck tape and glue. It only offers to further confuse people. They want so badly to "reinvent" swtor for their 10 year anniversary they are willing to rush and make sacrifices. This is only going to end one way...
