  1. So from what I'm understanding, you don't get to mix class skills, you don't really get to use different weapon types, let's say a double bladed marauder so.... What in the holy heck is this suppose to be? All I'm seeing is that you can be a trooper with an different advanced tool-kit, say a trooper going through the trooper story, but be a sniper instead of vanguard or commando. If this is to open up character variety so players don't need like 30 alts, then okay? But won't this break the base class story-lines? I highly doubt they're going to give us new cut-scenes of lets say a trooper killing a character with a sniper rifle.
  2. Okay. I won't panic in this reply. I'll remain absolutely calm. Let's analyze what's going on here before we tell people "Not to panic". *The current abilities of the guardian are gutted completely with almost no utility and baked in passives. *This is a PTS yes, however if gutting the abilities and getting peoples initial reaction on an EARLY stage like this wasn't the point, then what is the current point of the PTS being open? It's obviously very early in its development cycle. *They seem to be pushing a holiday release date for this patch, yet plan to overhaul the way classes work with new "combat styles", which only seems to be cookie-cutter choices and once again, less utility. *MMORPG's have done class pruning in the past, it never works out well, current best example is WoW. *A bioware employee responded saying something along the lines of "It's early and we require feedback, we see your concerns and have seen these current complaints", however he or she hasn't addressed ANY complaint what-so-ever and we have yet to see them do so.. Maybe you should think before you tell people not to panic, because the current outrage seems pretty justified so far, because we have little to no communication and a holiday release date....
  3. Depends who you're talking to.... I've made it through stormblood before quitting. I really don't see a shred of "it gets better" aside from the combat going slightly quicker... The story was nonsense and just not enjoyable for me. Hell while playing I even asked my free company of at least 13-15 active people "What do you guys think of the story?".... Very few commended it, some said they only watch the voice acted ones (Which is stupid because EVERY cutscene should be VA'd if they actually have the means too) and the rest said they didn't find it very enjoyable. SWTOR, despite being sometimes being over the top, offered a fully voice acted and dialogue system when no other MMO has back in 2011/2012. FFXIV doesn't do that, it expects you to read a book telling a cohesive story that people like myself who aren't fans of the typical JRPG genre won't find fun.
  4. That statement can be dismissed in two directions. One, there hasn't yet been an official statement from bioware confirming whether or not ANY of this is intended. Then there's the second one, which is, maybe they didn't alter the abilities descriptions referencing the current ones available now to fit the new way the class is supposed to play, which can be read either way..... People losing their marbles right now is justified because nobody asked for this.
