  1. Late to the party on this one but I hope someone sees this. Although I know there's a snowball's chance in hell at that. So, I get that Data Entry is supposed to be this nice tribute to Dulfy and I appreciate seeing BioWare acknowledge someone so important to their community but outside of previewing on Youtube, you'd never know the animation drops a bunch of stupid boxes. There's nothing indicative in the item description that really makes that too clear. Which is silly. The thing looks like it will just be a data terminal. Awesome! I want that! Then someone buys it and gets a terminal accompanied by loud box drops. I really doubt that you will offer a different version but seriously. I'd pay twice the amount of CC that the current version costs. For realz.
  2. Going to let my subscription void and head into preferred status but I really want to know about any difference to GSF this might cause. I know there is a difference is the acquisition rate of requisitions but is there anything else? No limit to matches per week, is there? I've done a lot of digging around and asking but this seems to be the one area people can't give me an answer. So, now I'm here. Thanks in advance for letting me know what I need to know!
  3. Gestahlt. Probably the best writer we've ever had post here. (Yeah. This thread's a bit of a joke but I might as well use it to give a shout out to a very talented former member of our community.)
  4. We have some major changes and updates on the way. Board's getting a big breath of fresh air!
  5. A major change in my occupational situation (I'm a game designer now, yay!)...has kept me from solid updates. But the bounty list is currently up to date. I highly, highly encourage players to take a risk and put their characters on the board.
  6. Put things in perspective. I'm forced to pay if I want to see the movie in theaters. And, often, that price is higher than what you and I paid for ROTHC. And the time we get to enjoy it is shorter. You paid ten dollars for something that gave you more content, over a longer time, than a movie. And that ten dollars was less than you pay for the full experience of a movie.
  7. To put things in perspective, you've probably spent more money seeing a movie in the last six months than paying for this expansion. Or a good sandwich at a restaurant that you then crapped out. So...yeah.
  8. I don't think they've made a smart move in terms of their rewards to early buyers. But I'm also not losing sleep over it either.
  9. Considering the extent of the downtime and the severity of the issue, I'd suggest possibly restitution to to the community besides some Tawn Faun codes and the Medical Table/Emote combination.
  10. Prestige Rankings Current Prestige Points of participants can be found below. Aderis- One win, one lose. Rank: "Newcomer" Sere'kiv'aranu- Two losses. Rank: "Newcomer" Kri'sie- One win. Rank: "Rookie" Eidozi- One win, one loss. Rank: "Newcomer" Vari- One win. Rank: "Rookie"
  11. F.A.Q. Q: "Is this event only open to Mandalorians?" A: Not at all! All characters are welcome to participate in the battle circle! Q: "Is this event PvP only?" A: No. While the battle circle encourages PvP fights, we also have a streamlined /roll system in place. Q: "My character is only level 20. Will they be able to participate in the battle circle?" A: Absolutely. Not only is the battle circle hosted in a safe area on a cross faction planet, there are multiple ways for a lower leveled character to progress up the ranks. Q: "Are the battles only one versus one duels?" A: Traditionally, yes. However, special matches may be allowed if organized and agreed upon between parties. Q: "This battle circle is not entirely compliant with lore! Doesn't the defender traditionally have the right to determine the mode of combat?" A: Canonically, yes. However, this provides a means for higher level characters and those with a large gear disparity to dominate the circle. As such, the circle is operating under revised rules in order to ensure the most fun experience for participants. This comes with a relatively minor change to the lore of the battle circle. Q: "Will there ever be prizes or credits to win at the battle circle?" A: Very rarely. The battle circle is about prestige and combat. Observers are free to bet on the fights and it is possible that in rare cases, the circle will offer prizes to those who prove themselves worthy but don't expect a weekly credit bonanza. Q: "How do I lose a fight?" A: Fights are lost in one of two ways. Either you are defeated in combat or you leave the perimeter of the battle circle. Either will result in a defeat. Q: "Do I need to sign up to fight?" A: You do not! Just show up to the circle and you're good to go. We will do our best to ensure you get in a fight. If the battle circle does manage a number of participants, the circle reserves the right to limit the number of matches. In general, any newcomers will be given the guaranteed chance to fight, as a rule of thumb. Q: "I have an idea!" A: Wonderful! We're always looking for ways to improve the battle circle. Just post your thoughts and we'll discuss them with you. We might not always adopt suggested changes but we will always be transparent with our thought processes.
  12. HOW DOES IT WORK? PRESTIGE In determining the prestige of battle circle participants, only their triumphs and achievements in the circle will be considered. As such, newcomers start with no prestige attached to their name. Prestige is gained through successfully winning a duel. Each single combat duel is worth one prestige point. Losing a battle results in the loss of one prestige point. In the case of any battles in which a challenger faces more than one opponent, a single prestige point is granted for each opponent defeated. Throughout their time in the battle circle, participants will receive rankings based on prestige. Prestige Ranks are as follows: 0 Points- Newcomer 1 Point- Rookie 2 Points- Skirmisher 3 Points- Fighter 4 Points- Hunter 5 Points- Veteran 6 Points- Blooded 7 Points- Gladiator 8 Points- Crusader 9 Points- Battlemaster 10 Points- Champion CHALLENGING YOUR OPPONENT During each meeting, participants are allowed to issue one challenge. As part of an effort to modernize the battle circle, challengers will be allowed to propose the initial term of combat. In cases where the attendance of the battle circle is deemed excessively large, deference of challenge will be given to newcomers. A challenge may be declined, provided an alternative form of combat is suggested. An outright refusal, without an alternative challenge, will always result in the loss of a prestige point. In the event that the alternative challenge is turned down, the two fighters can part honorably without a fight. Warriors who show a trend of refusing battles may lose prestige points, particularly at higher levels. This is left to the discretion of the Circle Master. METHODS OF COMBAT Method One: Duels Duels are the PvP combat option for the Battle Circle. Only players within five level of each other may duel unless the combatants both agree to a fight. Due to the nature of the ring, for now, the follow skills are prohibited unless parties agree to their use. These abilities are Force Push, Jet Boost, Concussion Charge, Overload, and Force Wave. Method Two: Skirmishes Skirmishes are battles between two opponents using our /roll RP combat system. These challenges are level independent and can be offered to anyone. Both fighters have three hit points, the first to be reduced to zero is defeated. The details of the system can be found below. Additionally, any special conditions can be added to any battle type. Examples of special conditions include unarmed combat, combat using matching equipment, the use of only basic attacks, fights against multiple opponents, and more. RP COMBAT SYSTEM Affording a player of any level the chance to engage in relatively even combat with other combatants, our /roll system can be used to participate in the battle circle. This system, streamlined for use, runs off the notion of risk/reward. Combat will take place using /roll 20's. Combat starts with the challenger's attack. In the event of a tie roll, preference is given to the aggressor. However, in the event of a tie between two perfect twenties, the roll will go to the defender. There are no penalties for a critical failure (ie. a roll of 1), however a bonus is given to critical successes (ie. a roll of 20). Critical attacks will take off two health points from your opponent. The first combatant to reduce their opponent to zero HP is the victor. Players will receive a bonus to their rolls values based upon their prestige: Non Veterans will receive no bonuses to their rolls. Veterans and above will receive a bonus of plus two. Champions will receive a bonus of plus three. Thus, higher prestige combatants will enjoy a slightly higher roll. However, the moderately tame nature of the modifiers should allow players a path upwards in the ranks. Perhaps one that is fraught with adversity, but a mechanically viable path nevertheless. CHAMPIONS The major benefit a champion enjoys is that no one may challenge a champion unless they have a prestige level of at least five. Champions are free to challenge anyone below them, on their terms; a loss against a champion under these circumstance will not result in a lost prestige point. However, a challenger who has issued a challenge against a Champion will still lose a prestige point in the event of a defeat. Should another participant achieve ten prestige points, they are obliged to issue a challenge the champion so that the current champion may defend their standing. Thus are the rules of the Battle Circle.
