  1. Being some IT nerd and spending your life in a basement does not make you expert in economy mate. As we can see...
  2. By raising taxes and making newbie's life more difficult you create demand to buy more credits, what is there you don't understand? You are trying to remove credits from economy? Do you even know how much money sellers have? Right now you are removing newbies who can't afford to repair their gear after a harder flashpoint.
  3. And you still don't understand why are they expensive and getting more expensive every day? Yes, the credit seller sells them to player A ---> Player A buys augments and kits ---> Credits return to shady website Cheap credits from the sellers that are getting cheaper every day create inflation. They are the credit sellers themselves. It's usually one person or small group of people who run entire GTN. Tell me what do they do with these billions they made every day. I can see the same guy buying mats and selling augments on my server since 2016... Strange hobby? No, in some countries you can have a living for $5 worth of swtor credits. You see, you are saying how it SHOULD be. And I agree with you. But I am saying how it actually IS. And every day I see newbies with their level 001 guilds recruiting, bragging about progression squads (how could they afford gear) and bragging about full flagship unlock (one of these frameworks was 30 mil in 2018, now they are 170 mil per item and you need several of them for every room, again how newbies can afford it?) Credit sellers are at the core of the problem, and saying they are gone because Bioware did something is silly, just look on ebay... If people had not had that money they prices would not go up, and it's the newbies who are paying these prices, we old player we already have everything, I don't remember when I last time bought anything on GTN... So it's either removing credit sellers, or making the items cheap buy at NPCs. Currently new players can't afford these prices and devs make it worse by counterproductive changes. Maybe they don't understand how economy works themselves.
  4. See this is a gamer's opinion who does not know how economy works. So if there is no demand for augment kits and augments then why are they so expensive? I'm sure you don't understand what I mean. Cosmetics too, agreed, but these you buy once and have an unlock - augments... you need to buy several sets for your DPS, Tank, Healer... Again, how newbies can afford augments and flagship unlocks on day 1? Give the augments and augment kits to Hyde and Zeek for 200k per item and problem is solved. Right now new players can't afford to join to play endgame and are getting severely punished by devs raising taxes etc. I hope they have some adults there at dev studio who are going to read my post.
  5. How are they (credit sellers) irrelevant when you can now go to ebay and see that they are selling credits just how they always did...? Just type in 'swtor credits' into search on ebay. I don't know what Bioware did, but if they were not completely detached from this game and community they would have known how to solve the problem... Taxes... credit sinks... garbage... see the elephant in the room, but to see it you have to play your own game.
  6. You guys are gamers and most of you have no idea about how economy works. I work in sales my entire life. To stop people from buying credits (tell me how a newbie can gather few billion credits to augment his toon in a legitimate way, buying from cartel and selling is not a solution because it's broken logic). To stop people from buying credits you need to remove the DEMAND. And you are removing the demand by giving augment kits and augments to Hyde and Zeek. In one move you destroy entire credit selling business. By introducing taxes, high prices, 'credit sinks' you are INCREASING demand for shady currency (it's like governments increase inflation by raising taxes). And as far as I know these people have unlimited resources as they abused bugs, referral system and now they are the ones who sell augments and kits. So it's the legit players who get punished, not sellers.
  7. Devs you are doing it all wrong You are introducing taxes, new costs, make repairs more expensive, removing tax reliefs while the source of broken economy are CREDIT SELLERS. It's not some bug from years ago, those players are gone and even if they still play they have everything and they don't have to buy or sell anything. Credit sellers and previous abuse of referral program are at the source. New players come and see that 1x augment kit costs 7 million credit (after finishing story they might have max 1 million total) then they see that 1x augment costs 200 million... so what do they do? They need to BUY that money to play endgame. Every raiding team will tell you - no high grade augments? get lost kid! To fix the economy you need to add cheap augments and augment kit to Hyde and Zeek. Otherwise players will keep buying credits from shady websites to buy augments, and people who sell these augmnents put these credits back on the shady website - the circle is complete. Then there are cartel market items. Buying credits from shady website is half the price at max of what cartel coins cost - again newbies pick the easier and cheaper path and buy from illegitimate sources. But it's augments and augment kits that ruin the economy and the game all together - give augments and augment kits (or remove augment kits completely) to Hyde and Zeek and then and ONLY then you are going to address the issue of economy correctly and strike a blow into the core of the problem. Devs team, by raising travel, repair costs and such you are actually PUCHING people to go and buy more credits from credit spammers and you are punishing new and old players. For newbies endgame gear in not accessible anyway and it's harder to keep playing with devs raising costs.
  8. Hi guys, So after several weeks (months?) of playing updated SWTOR I just can't but notice that all these measures deployed to repair the economy are useless and counter productive. I play mainly as a tank role, I often take a lot of damage, the raiding group wipes etc - I can't sustain gameplay in this role as repair costs go into hundreds of thousands credits after an evening of raiding, and income from these operations can't compensate. With harder flashpoints it's very much the same but in a lower scale and this process is slower. So it's just a matter of time when I run out of credits and won't be able to afford to play as a tank. Solution: people in game tell me to buy things from cartell market and sell them for credits... seriously? On top of monthly subscription I will have to keep buying items from cartell market just to pay for armour repairs? This is broken... The source of economy issue are credit sellers and this is failed to be adressed as devs don't play the game so they don't see what is going on. Guys it's daily occurence that new players have full flagship unlocks on day one (this costs billions with current prices) it's the new players who buy items sold for hundreds of billions on GTN. This is not some bug that occured years ago that new players in year 2023 can afford these prices - it's buying credits from shady websites. Of course this money comes mainly from bugs, buy also from abusing referall system, from farming commanders, from crafting augments and such. If you look up GTN it's small group of people who controlls the whole of it. Guys, you need to ban and delete credit selling accounts - right now you are punishing legit players and newbies who just can't afford all this. What to do: 1. remove the need to buy shady cradits from shady websites. How? Add all kind of augments and other endgame gear to Hyde and Zeek for cheap, for regular prices same as the mods and such they sell atm. Right now a single augment kit MK-11 costs at least 6-7 million. A single endgame augment costs tens of millions or hundreds of millions. How can a person who just completed story afford that? Owns now around 2 millions and wants to progress to endgame content... People chose to buy these credits. This is why Hyde and Zeek should also sell both augment kits and augments - this is going to be a huge blow to credit sellers and relief to community. Also the entire referall program (gone now) and today's crafting and GTN is totally controlled by people who just sell things to make credits which are going to be sold on a webiste. Its a circle of corruption rotten to the core, guys keep selling credits which are used to buy items from them and then sold again... and so on, so on... It's a taboo because it's agains TOS, but that is exactly what is going on. 2. controlled purchases - another thing you could do is to buy the smallest amount of credits from a credit seller and then annihilate his account. This is what real police does, they arrange to buy banned items, buy them and then arrest the seller. Guys, for real, remove all these new taxes and fees as this is just hurting average Joe, the problem of swtor economy is people who are going to work around it anyway and keep doing what they do. By making the daily life in SWTOR more expensive you are pushing people to buy more credits from shady sources.
  9. I subbed and it's not working. You are wasting my time and money. Why do we always have this kind of issues here with Bioware and EA and we don't have such problems with other games on Steam? Is that just incompetence or just... It's beyond ridiculous how you guys ru(i)n this game...
  10. The problem is not western culture, but EA/Bioware... I play other games made in Europe and US, sandbox survival games, space exploration sims - and in every single of these games we have great communication with developers - we can talk to them on the forum, we hang out with them on Discord. And they make the game better for us, release patches and expansions - more content quarterly than we got in SWTOR in couple of years. Myself I played and subbed to SWTOR since late 2018, but I cancelled my sub last week and stopped playing. The game is no fun anymore. I tried to enjoy it for couple of weeks after 7.0 launched, I tried to get used to it, but I can't. They did not listen to out feedback during PTS, they fixed few bugs. Galactic Seasons are OK, combat styles are OK but still - why did they make us carry extra set of equipment for other style, instead just having it saved in the equipment slots. Whatever... But our inventory is full of junk already. But why nerf most of the chars? Why nerf gearing system? I want to be able to customize my build, pick skills I actually need, setup my gear with mods/enhancements to my liking. And that grind... They did not introduce any new content, but made us grind for equipment to be able to play again the old content... Shocking! And boring. And yes - now you can't have all your favourite flashpoints in the groupfinder, you have to play the ones you don't like My character was nerfed and made less fun to play, and now I have to grind through content I do not like just to upgrade my gear to play the old content (because 306 is no good anymore). You guys are joking, launching delayed "expansion" which was not finished, the game did not work on latest CPUs for 1 month, after this there were problems with the Launcher freezing. Fix the game, and add the content or there will be no more sub money from me. It was fun guys, I loved the game. But from now on I will stay away from SWTOR and Bioware and support other developers who actually care and have passion for their game. PS. I make mods in Unreal Engine for other games, enable mods here and I will make a new flashpoint/operation every week. For free. You dudes are messing around charging sub for that game...
  11. I gave 7.0 a chance and kept exploring it for last few weeks. But I discovered that I play the game less, and less. First you removed skills or made me to pick one of three skills - no fun for me, I play flashpoints and get constantly upset that I am missing a skill that I used in that moment and then I am missing another skill which I've been using around the corner... I can't get used to it. Then the rebalance and grind.... Guys, you removed skills you removed most of the flashpoints from the groupfinder and you are trying to force people to play content they don't like. It's very bad decision. If I want to play Hammer Station via GF for 3 hours every evening 7 evenings a week - this is my choice, my fun, my sub money. I don't want to play PvP and make boring dailies. And what did you do? You made us to grind through the same old content we completed hundreds of times, just to be again viable to play the same old content we completed dozens of times... I don't see fun in grinding for equipment to be able to play again the same old veteran mode operations, which I completed multiple times. I know that 6.0 was too easy with gear. But instead of introducing grind, you could have gone back to 5.x style of gearing - we got our gear from command boxes, but if someone wanted better gear he had to complete harder content on Ossus and kill Geonosian Queen on Veteran Mode to get upgrade crystal currency. That was actually fun! I made many friends while looking for volunteers for that vm operation. We wiped through whole evenings! Then another day we won and got our crystal! We laughed and cried - for me this was the best era in SWTOR. Balanced - everyone had his gear, but those willing to complete harder things got slightly better gear. But 7.0 with it's boring grind... Dailies, weeklies, PvP... I want to raid guys, and run Hammer Station for quick fun. I don't feel like doing all this grind just to be able to play vm operations again. If it was a grind for the new content, maybe, but there is no new content, just rebalanced old content. Master Mode operations? Guys just kill that Nefra over and over again... more grind. Guys, you created new grind we have to go through to play the same old content I won't even speak about the new (clearly unfinished) UI, how ugly it is etc... It's a downgrade. It looks like command prompt in Windows. It was fun for the last 4 years or so, but at this stage I quit, I simply won't play content that I do not enjoy, I tried to do it for last few weeks, I tried to give myself time, but no, for me the game is not entertaining anymore. And again, would you finally do something about people selling credits from these spammer sites/ebay? Have you seen the prices of items at in-game GTN? Things cost hundreds of millions and even billions. There is no way to get this amount of credits in a legitimate way, it would take years of gameplay. New people come to game and immediately they see how broken the market is, and how dead the crafting is. Few pro crafters there are, they craft to earn credits to sell them to these websites or maybe even run these websites themselves... Same with commanders to get flagship encryptions, bots watch over them and they are killed as soon as they spawn - another source of income for credit sellers, normal people who play just for fun have no chance to compete. It good that you removed the referral program - it was mostly abused by the very same credit spammers... But more has to be done. Also PvP is set up and rigged - biggest guilds set it up, the make 'losing' teams and 'winning' teams and manipulate results to get their profit. I'm out, I will return when SWTOR will be fun again.
  12. Same here, can't get past the loading screen, the wheel in the right bottom corner is spinning, I can hear background noises of speeders/ships. I did not minimize the game, I waited several times for around 10 minutes. I validated the files, it did not help. So I restarted my PC, upon login game told me to accept EULA again, but still got stuck on loading screen. Guys I love the game and I am a subscriber for the past 4 years, but this kind of things are unseen in any other game. You are not only switching off European server in the middle of the day instead of doing this in the night time when traffic is the lowest but you are releasing update that does not even start. People were joking about this on the general chat just before the update, but at this stage this is not funny anymore... guys, seriously?
  13. I brought all my friends to SWTOR but they eventually left due to lack of endgame. How many hammer stations can one run? People would like to see conflict between rep and imp players (this is Star Wars after all), people would like to see an actual competition between guilds... But in SWTOR there is none of this.
  14. Thank you, I missed them somehow.
  15. Hi guys, so we own our flagship for couple of years now, we managed to unlock it in full. Our perks expired yesterday and I wanted to renew them, but cant... There are only few perks available in each unlocked 'window' (literally 2 max 3) and one of them has no perks to buy at all? We have the credits at guildbank, what is going on? Without our set bonus our builds are broken...
