I am playing concealment. I think that the Amplifiers aren't shown correctly on the character sheet. Here's a shot of me at the bolsterizer with all purple armorings with 1% Tech Wiz https://i.postimg.cc/SsQBFNcs/1-P-Tech-Wiz.jpg Here's a shot having replaced the purple 60 Tech Wiz armoring with a purple 60 Force Protection armoring https://i.postimg.cc/fTXDvyCn/1p-FP.jpg

How does the Main Hand weapon contribute to damage? Perhaps I am doing it wrong but upgrading the hilt on a MH weapon does not seem to influrence the stats on my character sheet. Same goes for amplifiers, at least for me. When I do a direct compare between, in the example I used in the OP, Tech Wiz, my overall tech damage, crit chance and multi go down.

    Bolster in 2021

I’ve recently got back into playing some PvP after a long time away from the game and been experimenting a bit with bolster in under 75 warzones and trying to figure out how to maximise my in-warzone stats. There are a few old posts out there with some recommendations but nothing I could find that was current (happy to be pointed to one if I’ve missed it). In the interests of generating some discussion and seeing if other people have similar experiences, here are some of the things that seem to me to be true: Datacrons provide a one for one increase in stats (e.g. if you get a +4 to mastery datacron, your total stats in a warzone will have +4 mastery than they otherwise would have). The first power crystal provides a one for one increase in stats. The second power crystal provides a less than one for one increase (e.g. if you have +41 mastery as your secondary crystal, you get slightly less than +41 to mastery in a warzone than you otherwise would) Stims provide a less than one for one increase in stats. I got mixed results switching equivalent level green mods for blues and purples. Sometimes equivalent level greens would be better, others not. The difference was slight though. If my mods were more than about 10-15 levels lower than my character level, my bolstered stats decreased. The best way to increase secondary stats (e.g. crit) seems to be to have the secondary stat in all item slots. Amplifiers did not work like I suspected. Inserting purple armorings with +Tech Wiz, for example, reduced my overall tech damage and crit chance as against green armorings just a few levels below my character level. The conventional wisdom used to be that your main hand weapon was not bolstered. This no longer seems to be true. Having empty gear slots (or mod slots) really hurts your stats.
  4. I agree. The cost of the ranked mods and enhancements is huge, particularly for classes that need to swap out a lot of mods to min/max. It's close to unattainable on my server (Bastion) at the times I play (evenings in Australia) since ranked queues don't pop frequently enough.
  5. Does using blue 46s lower your weapon based only if the mods are in your MH? That is, would blue 46s in your OH still be BiS for a weapon damage based class?
  6. I am on the Bastion, imperial side, and having the same issues.
  7. These are really helpful posts. Thanks to all who have contributed. But I am still confused about two naming conventions that appear to be accepted to refer to item modifications. First, people keep talking about crafted level 66 purples. My understanding is that this means crafted items that require level 53 to equip. But such items don't list level 66 anywhere on them (at least in game that I can see). How do I tell what items are level 69, 66, level 63 and level 61 etc.? Second, jboehm states "that a 69, 63, 61 setup is BiS for mainhand/offhand/armor (if you don't need the pvp set bonus)." I take it that the "69, 63, 61" refers to some combination of the armoring, mod and enhancement. What order is being referred to?
  8. I am constantly upgrading my gear on my cybertech. I've got a full moddable armour set (other than the belt). I make the purple and armouring mod for my class, which means I need to make around 7 of each every two levels. I do almost all my levelling in warzones. I have pretty good stats for my level. I play a Vanguard (currently level 42) and have over 15,000 hit points in a warzone. But I am poor; very, very poor. I never have more than 50,000 credits. I can't afford my level 40 speeder training. The main problem is the purple underworld metals. I've either got to crit a mission, purchase an epic mission or get the mats off the GTN (which has been affordable for some mats but not for the level 5 ones).

  10. Dear Bioware I love your game. This is why I hate when it doesn't work properly. Ever since early access, I have been randomly booted from the server, disconnected for no apparent reason and today the game totally froze on me. I could live with all this - under normal circumstances you could always log back on and pick up where you left off. Here's the problem. My server has queues. Big queues. Today, just now, when the game froze up on me after just one warzone completed, I logged back in and I was place 679 in the queue. As I type this, I am 587, so I am a little closer, but still around an hour away. The problem is even worse in my circustances. My wife is pregnant. I had to practically beg to get 2 hours so I could go play SWTOR with my friends, who incidentally are still playing and talking to me on skype with no apparent issues. Those of you with children or have currently pregnant partners will probably understand the extreme lengths I had to go to get time to play. This is the only 2 hours I have to play today, and possibly for the rest of the week. Instead of playing, I will be waiting in the queue. The waiting in queue screen is moderately amusing - it tells me that the server is full and informs me of my position in the queue. It's not as much fun as the great game you have made though. So here is my question. It's rather simple. Why should I have to queue again when less than 30 seconds before I re-logged I was in game?

    Can't get into WZ's

Same problem here. I just posted about this too. I share your frustration.
  12. Yeah, did an ingame bug report yesterday. I know they will have a lot of things to fix and have to prioritise. This just seems pretty high priority for those that play warzones on high population servers.
  13. Several times over the last few days, when I try to enter a warzone, I get booted to the character select screen. I've tried to zone to a different planet. I've logged onto different characters. Nothing works. As soon as I get the problem, it happens until I log out and re-log. Whilst this seems like a simple solution, when you play on a high population server with 30+ minute wait times to get back in, it is totally game breaking. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, has anyone managed a different work around? To Bioware - please fix this. I've done some googling and it seems this problem has been around since beta. For people who like Warzones and play on high population servers, this issue must be seriously effecting their ability to enjoy the game. /endrant
