  1. Yeah, I feel this. I really don't wanna go back to WoW. Good God, why am I still even considering going back to WoW in 2022? It's a nightmare. Maybe Black Desert Online? Just chill and fish and trade I guess. I don't know. This game needs so much love. Bioware really blew a bunch of smoke up our you know whats over "10 year celebration." The studio seems like a total mess to me. Barely functioning.
  2. This is why MMO's can't have good stories btw. "Wahhh, we demand her as a companion. Wahhhh!!!" Player's need to feel gratified and pandered to trumps decent storytelling every single time. Shame really. All for, what, your 60th companion? Valyn goes from a great, tragic villain, to just another meaningless stat stick in the blink of an eye. Me? I'll still be using Qyzen Fess.
  3. There are toxic players on both sides, but I feel like this is the only game where I see "story" players claim it as their own. I get that a lot of people want more story. I do too. I love the stories of this game, and the poor quality of LOTS has me worried. I get it. But I would never say that this game "belongs" to me as a story player, or that raiders or PvP players need to take a hike and go play WoW or something. That's just not fair, and it's a denial of what the game is. FFXIV, in my opinion, really proves you can do both great story, and provide an MMORPG experience. The thing is, we're here because we wanna play SWTOR, not WoW or FFXIV or Lost Ark or Everquest or w/e.
  4. Don't think there is any dispute that the game has severe issues with development of content and the upkeeping of its various systems. This is to say nothing of the overall performance of the game's engine, which is borderline unacceptable. You just choose to not see reality though: the game nearly died twice due to "all in" on story. At launch and after KOTFE. My real gripe with the story only "this game isn't for you" crowd are this: they accuse PVP'ers, OPs players, GSF, etc of being toxic yet they refuse to see just how toxic they themselves are. What person comes to this game and demands story be removed? What person comes here and says, "Bioware, just stop developing story." Practically no one, because even if we're not "story players", most of us accept that story is, and is going to remain, a big part of this game's development and identity. THAT'S OK. Yet it is the story only solo player who seethes at the idea of needing to win a PvP match in order to obtain a gear or rages at how hard GSF is or complains about Ops or screams about companions being able to only take 59 hits instead of 60 before incapping who is truly toxic. Anything that deviates from their friction-less "story" experience is unacceptable for them. They would rather purge the game from everyone else than admit that they are toxic in any way. They have delusions of grandeur, when really they are just crybabies raging in their dollhouse. If they can't solo an OP with their companion of choice or obtain gear through PvP by simply sitting in base and browing their Outfitter tab then they are unhappy. They are unreasonable, and have never been able to accept that this game is not a single player visual novel, but an MMORPG.
  5. It's so cringe that some of you still believe that the "story player" is who keeps the lights on. The people who keep the lights on are people who sub and, more importantly, people who spend in the Cartel Market. The guy who is on his 50th alt on Tython that he'll quit before he reaches Taris isn't funding the game. Just because you don't raid or do GSF or PvP doesn't mean that the game isn't "for" the people who do. Remember KOTFET? Remember when they went all in on "solo story players"? Remember what happened? The game nearly died because "there is no end game" and "there is nothing to do" and "what is the point of subbing?" The game had a huge, HUGE influx of players due to the marketing of KOTFE, and after they ran through the story they left. Sound familiar? Yes, that's because it was a repeat of the game's launch. As for the story, yeah, it's good, and personally I loved the story of Zakuul and the Emperor, but look at Legacy of the Sith. It's probably the worst story update we have ever received. I mean, it's dreadful. Absolutely dreadful. Running around the sterile hallways of Manaan clicking on kolto tanks feels like a level 30 mission I might have done back in 2012. People aren't going to sub for this. They aren't going to stay subbed for this. They aren't going to whale for this.
  6. This cutscene for me suffers from horrible pop-in of models, sometimes the entire scene, and strange, glitchy animations for NPC's like Arn and the PC. I had to re-start the cutscene once because I encountered my monitor going black and staying that way. I hit ESC and replayed the scene, this time without a black screen, but the glitchy pop-in of models and janky animations remain. Really bad. Yikes.
  7. I've gotten this FP a few times this week when queuing for Master Mode and this boss is a nightmare. Every time the party ends up disbanding. Sometimes the turrets don't seem to work, another time the ship actually glitched out INTO the platform itself. The damage seems colossal and no healer can keep up with it. I've had people say every flame sweep must be interrupted. Good luck doing that with a PuG, and somehow I doubt that a stray flame sweep is a matter of life or death. I've also seen people say that EVERY cast must be interrupted, which is virtually impossible. I've seen someone say the MISSILE cast must be interrupted, still no dice. I know this fight has been bugged in the past, but I can't find any posts about it that are recent. What's the deal with this guy? Am I just missing something here?
  8. You are so right! The letter you receive from Senya about Vaylin being her daughter and wishing she could get her little girl back really broke my heart. She was severely abused as a child and basically twisted into the monster she became. I was sympathetic to her, and looked for every opportunity to help her, but it's just not there. At the very end I think I said something to her like "I gave you every opportunity, but there is no saving you." and she responds, "I never wanted to be saved." or something along those lines. She didn't have any conception of hope or having a better life. Just torment and pain and brokenness, and in order to defeat her you end up exploiting those things within her. It's... really dark.
  9. There are a ton of bugs, performance issues for me on the new planets, but overall the gameplay of SWTOR is still great. I enjoyed the story and as usual am eagerly awaiting the next chapter. People have listed out all the great improvements to the user interface that came with this expansion and I agree. You know, if you want to run Hammer Station 500 times then that's on you. Most of us are just playing the game as we usually would and not finding the gearing to be a terrible thing. It's much better than GC was. Renown has its proper role as what the Command Rank should have always been. Overall I am enjoying my time back in the game, can see myself subbing for a month or two, and definitely returning for the subsequent patches.
  10. The new planets are horrible for me. One of the datacrons on Onderon requires you to climb high up some mountains, and you can see out over large portions of the zone, even into places that you cannot reach. This would be cool, but the problem is every single tree and shadow seems to be rendering with their "wavy in the wind" animations and it cripples my FPS. I feel like I'm back in 2011 running the game at low settings again in the new areas. Once I finish the Onderon daily grind I'll never return. Horrible performance and Mek-Sha is little better. PvP still runs poorly, always has always will. I honestly kind of expected the new planets to run poorly and be overly taxing because with Ossus you could tell the game looked better, but that the trade off was a massive tax on your hardware. It's incredible that this game still brings our machines to their knees going into 2020. It certainly doesn't have the visuals to boast of. lol
  11. Don't feel like combing the thread if this has already been stated, but General chat is not working for me on Onderon.
  12. I was wondering why this ability feels off. Let's say we do have the appropriate set that makes the spell viable in rotation, at that point where does it fit in?
  13. They are still OP though. I haven't really sensed a difference in the game's difficulty at all. Feels the same as it has for a long time now.
  14. How did you get past the elite skytrooper in Ch. 8? The game seems to demand that I fight it. Never mind. Just ran out of range then back in range over and over and over until it finally died. Blegh.
  15. That people actually get spooked out by F2P players via some weird social brainwashing about "welfare queens" or whatever is mental. Just wanna pelt some rocks into their glass house.
