  1. A game that fills the gap between the cut novels (the "Legends") and the Legacy era, which will otherwise forever be something that eats at my brain and my heart If you could play as all main characters and it had KOTOR gameplay... hey, one can dream, huh? More realistically, as people here have mentioned, a KOTOR remake would be neat. Maybe with Mass Effect-like gameplay and graphics? Also, an Uncharted-like game, like that game that was recently cancelled (Star Wars 1300 or something) starring Boba Fett. It would have the benefit of having room enough to fit in either the new or old canon.
  2. I completely disagree. IMHO the yuuzhan vong were maybe one of the most interesting things ever in Star Wars. Before that the EU stories were mainly: "oh no, there´s this dangerous situation, but don´t worry no one will die and everything will stay the same". Also, I cannot understand how so many people are perfectly alright with so many stories being decanonized. For one, the new canon should at least be better than the old one (if you want to decanonize something, why not TPM?), and for what I´ve seen so far that´s far from happening. And what if 30 years from now another company buys Star Wars and starts all over again? Will you agree with that too?
  3. It´s what Han calls him when he´s about to follow him into the bridge. And considering all sons / daughters in Star Wars keep the father´s surname (even Luke, as dangerous as it was), except Anakin who lacks a father, there´s no reason to believe he could be called Ben Organa or something else than Ben Solo.
  4. I know how you feel, but really the only thing that separates "canon" (a.k.a. Disney) lore from the rest is a huge paycheck. As long as SWTOR is being published it´s as real as anything, no matter what Disney says. Who cares if it´s "official" or not? The Old Republic era´s lore predates the selling of Star Wars after all.
  5. Although this is true it can also be said for the jedi: since they didn´t know the sith continued to exist they couldn´t have faced another lightsaber user in their life. With some luck they would have faced another jedi during training, but never to train for a battle to the death situation. The sith, on the other hand, could study the jedi behind the scenes and train with their masters in battles to the death.
  6. The unmasked actor wasn´t changed, but some of his features were tweaked as in to more closely resemble Anakin´s, or so I´ve heard.
  7. Yeah, it´s obvious they had to write a different story because of the stuff they would have to explain otherwise. But it still doesn´t answer why the "Legends" had to be discontinued. It could have perfectly continued to exist alongside the "canon" story. It´s not like the target audience couldn´t have told between the two of them. And yes, I´m aware that the now deceased EU had already overwritten stuff, like Splinter From the Mind´s Eye and the original Marvel comics, but you can´t compare 5 years to almost 30, can you?
  8. Care to ellaborate why? Is it because it lacked originality? (Looks at Episode VII´s structure copying Episode IV). Is it because it had overpowered things and characters? (Looks at Starkiller base macking a mockery of the Sun Destroyer and Kylo Ren stopping a laser blast in mid air). Is it because it had plot inconsistencies? (Looks at Finn´s motivations and Rey´s sudden mastery of the Force). Yeah, clearly the new story is soooooo much better. Also, the old EU mustn´t have sucked so bad if Disney so blatantly copied stuff from it.
  9. No way! This is the last remaining story of the true Star Wars that is still being published. A new game would surely be based on Disney´s new canon.
  10. 1. Luke. It was a tough choice, since Rey´s acting is much better, but ultimately Luke has a progression whereas Rey becomes a jedi out of nowhere. The annoying Anakin doesn´t even hold a candle. 2. Han. His interactions with Leia are legendary. 3. Leia. Finn´s character is way more funnier, but he´s the emperor of inconsistent writing. Padmé is just boring. 4. Qui-Gon. His role was much more important than Old Ben´s. Han wasn´t as much as a tutor as them. 5. Vader. Again, the TFA counterpart has much more writing behind him apart from being your stereotypical villain in black armor, but once again if that writing makes his character suck I´ll keep the stereotypical villain any day. 6. BB-8. And here we go, since not one of them has any writing behind them apart from comic relief BB8 does a much better job than his droid counterparts. 7. Tarkin. I´ll have a cold and calm demeanor before hot blooded screaming any day. Gunray looks like a kid´s cartoon villain. 8. Snoke. The Emperor doesn´t even appear in ANH, and TBH he doesn´t look as menacing as Snoke in TPM. So, 5-2-1 for me.
  11. I think the movie made quite clear he isn´t. I believe they wanted us to believe so, just to be surprised at Rey actually being the jedi.
  12. This was largely my thoughts before watching the movie, but still I tried to give the new Star Wars a try, both because of curiosity and because of my brother´s expectations (even though he´s no Star Wars fan like I used to be I have been feeding him Star Wars lore for my entire life). So there I go to the theatre, trying my best to keep an open mind about the movie, perfectly knowing that the original (and IMHO real) Star Wars lore was gone forever and this was another take on it. I knew I wouldn´t be buying more EU material, due to the original one being cut by Disney and the new one because I have no guarantee the exact same thing won´t happen in twenty or thirty years. Yet, what I witnessed that day marked the death of Star Wars for me. Had they respected the original EU I would have been perfectly fine with. Had they completely scrapped the whole EU I would have been reluctant but would have accepted it. Yet Disney managed to go beyong my worst nightmares and do the unthinkable: destroy the EU and grab random pieces and put them back together. How can you have the guts to claim something sucks and then use the pieces you like while throwing the rest away? When I heard the word "Ben" I only stood in the theatre due to respect to my brother, who had bought the tickets. They cannot even come up with an original name? Also, here I was thinking one of the reasons the EU "sucked" was because the power levels. *Laughs at the Sun Destroyer compared to Starkiller base* *Laughs at anything EU Luke did compared to Kylo Ren stopping a laser mid-air and Rey mastering Force persuasion, lightsaber combat and telekinesis without a master teaching her*. Oh, but of course this doesn´t suck because this is a movie instead of a book and has the "canon" label attached to it. Thank the Force for SWTOR being the last standing village in the Asterix comics.
  13. Finally recovering my ship as the smuggler, my first character, and flying out of Coruscant with the awesome music (the ones that plays in TPM when the group arrives at Coruscant) playing.
