  1. Poe is the reason that the Resistance could evacuate the base and that the fleet had the time to jump to hyperspace. He served as a distraction to General Hux and bought them time...even the commander of the Dreadnought commented on it. And if the Dreadnought survives the first engagement and shows up against the fleet after the jump, there is a good chance it's main cannons could nail the Raddus almost immediately.
  2. I am going to echo the disagreement from other posters. As an End Game Raider and PVPer I find defensive CDs immensely helpful, like that different ones do different things, and as a player who has mained a Sorc since the Open Beta would actually prefer more DCDs and not less in the game. The strategic approach to DCD usage is an important part of the game to me...and people who do not understand them or use them are those that get farmed.
  3. SWTOR at launch was pretty rough. People loved the class stories but found their way to a dead end-game with horrible gearing mechanics and an unrealized and buggy concept of open-world PVP which continually crashed. The innovations that players today take for granted and want expanded (Legacies being prime among them) were hard earned developments that took a good long time to make it to live. And class balance was always an issue: back in the day I could cross-spec as a Madness/Lightning Sorc and be an invincible death machine in PVP. Balance was not well thought out.
  4. What is the point of the bickering going on in this thread? Get back on topic! I need those new eyes on my Togruta Sith Warriror!
  5. The initial launch of KotFE, like the initial launch of SWTOR, saw a spike in subs. And then the population cratered almost immediately as everyone blew through it, found little to no replay ability and a sparse endgame. I feel like EA/Bioware never learn and just keep going back to the same playbook. I mean, if it brought us from 2.1 million subs down to, what, 250,000?, certainly it will work this time. Right?
  6. 1) My Character and My Choices No Longer Mattered As others have pointed out, there were few choices of real significance or consequence that centered around my character. Valkorian and his family were the main characters while Thana and Theron were the rails to keep my POV on track so that Bioware's story could play out as they intended. 2) KotFE was not SWTOR Let us be blunt; Knights was a port of Mass Effect into the SWTOR engine. The first chapter forced a major plot-retcon of Vitiate's character and goals and stripped each of our characters of their identity and companions in order to force us into the new character of the "Outlander." My main is Darth Nox. He is a Dark Council Member. He has crushed Sith Lords and Jedi Masters under foot. he has gathered a force of companions and apprentices that do his bidding. He has delved into dark secrets and mastered the ability to dominate powerful Sith ghosts. He brought Makeb to its knees. The Dread Lords and Darth Revan have fallen to his power. And the first chapter of Knights erased all of it and reduced Darth Nox to a homeless idiot being lead by the nose thanks to the supreme intelligence and guidance of a Rebel Spy and what for all intents and purposes seems to be a Greyish "Sith" that Nox would have shocked to death immediately. For me Knights was a hard reboot in a game where I was looking for an expansion of the original story. To be honest, after playing through it I cancelled my sub and left for a while. The only reason I am back is that I want to finish all the Class Stories before this game gets shuttered like Heroes.
  7. You pretty much covered it. Those of us with jobs that pay better than minimum wage will spend our hard-earned $ any way we well feel like it. If that means a I drop $80/Month on Cartel Coins then so be it. And considering the ease of becoming a multi-millionaire in this game and the ability to purchase said items on the GTN through dailies only, let alone crafting skills and playing the GTN, you are just being lazy. You can exchange fake money for something someone paid real money for. Stop the QQ and run your dailies.
  8. HPS =/= EHPS Operative/Scoundrel Healers top the Effective Healing Per Second charts as well as the overall HPS charts on HM and NiM difficulties. In the Top 50 of HM/NiM Horror (8Man) the ratio is 42:8 Op versus non Op Healers. In the Top 50 of HM/NiM Horror (16M) that ratio declines to 30:20. Considering that the Expected Ratio should be 1:2 seeing these numbers indicates a distinct competitive advantage for the Operative/Scoundrel Healer in effective output. Looking at the numbers one finds there is a statistically significant over-representation of Operative/Scoundrel Healers on most higher difficulty Operations and that the mean and median effective output of the AC is comparably superior. Over-Representation of the AC in Top Charts. Higher Mean and Median EHPS capability. Paired with Stealth. Sounds balanced to me.
  9. A self-proclaimed "above average player" who thinks that Sorcs can face-tank and easily Heal to Full and that Marauders are a squishy AC.... Yeah, someone does not know that he had Defensive CDs or what an interrupt is. Guess that is one less free kill in WZs.
  10. Actually, if you paid any attention there have been two major attrition periods for this game. The first was within the first 6-months when we crashed from 1.7 million to 1.2 million players due primarily to the speed at which Endgame Content was consumed. A secondary attrition period occurred around the advent of 1.2 or thereabouts and, if memory serves, had more to do with fleeing PVPers than PVErs. So no, no appreciable population of players dropped out of this game because leveling was too hard. Either you are 1) trolling, 2) in need of a tutorial on how to play this game, or 3) need to pick a new game.
  11. So they should take down the 2.4 PTS build...load the Maintenance build, test it, and then reload the PTS 2.4 build afterward?
  12. He understands basic economics; he understands that it is mean and evil and that profiteering (the kind we engage in, not his morally acceptable version) is the core of destruction and impropriety.
  13. A recurring remainder in the 1,263rd line of code is returning an error code. Happy now?
  14. Wait, you are attempting to gouge level 10 players for items that they could otherwise get for free via questing and are attempting to grandstand at the same time?
  15. And seriously, how could you have taken credits from these poor Lowbies in the first place? You are part of the problem and unless you provide full refunds to the people who you forced to buy your wares you can never make up for the damage you caused.
