  1. lulz. I am guilty of queu'ing with lvl 10's and no expertise still sporting training blades, and still managed to out dps and objective score more than half the team I was on. Sorry OP, I couldnt leave Korriban to get my AC and PvE becomes such a snooze fest, AND its such good xp for a lowbie. I also see this alot where players in the 10-20 range do quite a bit more dps than alot of players in the 20-30 range because of how the bolster system works. 10-20 Players actually have higher base stats than the 20-30 players. My Mara at level 11 had usually around 1200 strength with bolstering, at 31 hes barely over 1k with everyones class buffs.
  2. 1. Yes, and I guess everyone else talking about how Ilum is no longer giving credit for any daily quests over in the pvp section with the community guy acknowledging it is pure conjecture as well. 2. If your QA team cant identify a turret exploded and awarding ridiculous amounts of valor and then immediately respawning as a defect, then they might be better off with monkeys than what they have now for a QA team. 3. So....you are telling everyone that it was far easier to release a known exploit and then go around putting in not one, but TWO emergency patches to fix and then deal with hunting down exploiters and taking action, was easier than just...delaying the patch?
  3. You are not allowed to bring logic & common sense into this arguement sir, penalty box for you!
  4. No I didnt, it wont be a good debate if you are going to start paraphrasing me into things I didnt say. There will always be bugs, and Im not ostracizing anyone over the small and very specific scenarios that occur, that is the nature of software and code. I wholeheartedly agree there will never be software that is 100% bug free. What I am referring too are the obvious ones that effect EVERYONE. Flaws in the code may exist, but QA doesnt typically check the code and if they solely analyzing lines of code instead of regression testing the end product of the pre release build, then they indeed are incompetent and doing it wrong. This is akin to saying that a car will work perfectly without test driving it because the math adds up on paper. Ilum now broken is obvious, the former Ilum exploiut was obvious. Other game breaking defects that are universal for players are obvious. Theyre not caught and pushed to live for most likely, one of two reasons. The QA team isnt testing the latest build fixing to go to the public test server or They simple arent testing those areas and only focusing on whats been changed Pick one, they both equate to incompetence. Your turn.
  5. Stopping those all encompassing, rather obvious and critical bugs in the first place would probably go a long long way to making people happy. Just speculating tho.
  6. No they cant, the condition of the patches we have recieved and the bugs added that were obvious yet still overlooked speaks much louder than your obscure internet article. If my work produced the same obvious defects that gets by these outsourced teams & departments in every single patch, then I would be adding to the national unemployment percentage. How you can take a stance of defending a team that lets things like Ilum being entirely broken is beyond me, its not like a small part of the community is only experiencing this issue...it just didnt get tested with this latest version. Also JustTed, you flat out told me I was wrong and directed me to some obscure op-ed piece, without expalining how or what I was wrong about, so the burden of proof is on you, sir.
  7. That must be it, because you are infallable and never wrong, got it. After all, some obscure article written by a jaded and lazy developer on the web said so! The QA process with ToR is fine, and defects like *ILUM IS BROKEN AGAIN* and small exploits like the valor farming 2+ weeks ago truly are really hard to find defects that only occur when the rings of saturn align with swamp gas reflections from the moon, amirite?
  8. There was an article posted on this very site from an interview on a gaming site with some ToR dev staff, he isnt lying.
  9. Thats an amazing article full of nothing but excuses, and this is from a guy who knows the dev/qa cycle very well. Sure , there are whiny players with no understanding of the way things work or unrealistic expectations, but its also making alot of excuses for just poor regression cycles and flat out bad defect tracking & prioritizing.
  10. 100% agree. Outsourcing critical development teams causes more issues, bugs and doesnt net a good return for the money saved..because you spend even more time fixing what was working but your QA team on the other side of the planet missed. The business software development world has figured this out, the gaming software industry hasnt caught up yet. I wont even mention how hiring locally helps the economy and puts more money into the US taxpayers pool. Seriously EA (not even gonna blame BW since you know this came from the suits looking out for shareholders and not gamers) take your dev cycles seriously and get decent QA processes in place!
  11. This is what happens when the *internal* QA process is outsourced to places like Romania & India. QA is a heckuva alot harder when theres a time zone difference and language barrier. BW should really help out the local economy, and hire more QA in Texas that can be onsite and get vital info to the devs immediately. Quality patches with less bugs in them would be an imediate result.
  12. OP, if killing people so easily isnt fun for you, then just nerf yourself and pvp nekkid. Problem solved.

    Gun and run style

Pyrotechs arent. The only abilities I use with a casting bar is power shot, unload and DFA. I have 5 skils I rotate with, that can be used on the move.
