  1. /agree. They really have done you over there. I recently upgraded from a 520 that was YEARS old and not fit for any kind of modern day gaming. Upgraded with these main components and all modern games run at full graphics and are smoothe as silk. CPU: Intel i5-2500k Sandy Bridge Quad Core Overclocked to 4.5MHz with 6MB onboard Cache GFX: Palit 1280MB GTX 570 Sonic Platinum. GPU 800MHz, 1600MHz Shader, 4000MHz GDDR5, 480 Cores [ you're avg GT520 will have the following] 1GB GT 520, 40nm, 1066MHz GDDR3, GPU 810MHz, Shader 1620MHz, 48 Cores, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (Withough Service Pack 1 which slows everything right down) My GFX card cost me about £270 (~$450) whereas your GT520 is about £30 (~$45). (I was actually surprised you can still buy them) You can see why we say you have been conned ?
  2. I got very lucky. Pre-ordered back in August and played the Beta weekends and the last few days of playing. Came time for Amazon to take money out of my account and luckily it was empty at the time and they were asking me to cough up the cash. I weighed up all that had been going on with the queues and the trolling and decided to cancel without paying anything. Good work on the game EA. On the comms and the servers... not so much! Enjoy the new MMO guys but I'm taking my money and running...
  3. As a healer in a group situation, you shouldn't really be getting in there and meleing. You can do far more dmg from a distance whilst protecting the group as a whole. Not trolling but if you like the hack/slash and being in the thick of it, you might be better off with a tank class. The healers role is primarily to keep the main tank upright and not doing too much that you draw agro off him. In drawing agro terms, healing counts as damage against the mob so if you put more healing in (indirect dmg) and throw rocks (direct dmg) you could find your tank loses agro and the beastie turns on you in your light armour. If the tank can't get agro back quickly becuse you went nuclear too early, your toast shortly followed by the whole group that now have nobody to heal them. Best plan so far is what others have said above. Shield main fighters, dot the bigger beasties then throw the occasional rocks. Heal as needed but pace it out. If the tank is at 50% and you spam heal him to full straight away, you stand a good chance of dying yourself. Put him to 75% (depending on how fast he is taking dmg) and leave it at that.
  4. That's what I am hoping Archi. I can understand an initial softly, softly approach on day 1 but as long as there were no disasters yesterday, I am hoping they will ramp it up today. I was part of the last beta tests brought in for heavy, heavy load stress tests on the servers for the last couple of weekends. All the servers were very heavy and you were looking around for a server with a queue less than half an hours wait - some queues ran into hours. So they know the servers can handle it. I think they were making sure any new changes since that time were ok before they start opening the flood gates. After today's intake, any continued softly, softly would be frustrating though. The lack of explanation or estimates from the go-live team only adds to this frustration.
  5. 8/28 here. Looks like 4th wave tonight may cover 24/25 July. I am hoping to get in tomorrow (depending on how much the peak of pre-orders fell off) but expecting the day after that. Never mind... we've got a couple of years of playing this. It's just after playing the beta, I am itching to get in. Wonder if I have time to get prestige 7 in MW3 before I get the email because I am certainly not playing it after that.
