  1. - I typically participate in operations every week, 3-4 days a week depending on my workload. I often do difficulties ranging from story mode to nightmare mode. - I played a healer (tried both merc and operative. PLEASE fix the merc overheating issues) - Testing story mode difficulty - Took us 2.5 hours to defeat this boss...we all died, but the boss died too, so that's good? - I do not believe there are any other bosses at this difficulty on story mode. The closest may be Ixax - video not provided due to toaster computer. - Healer output was not really that high unless people stood in fire/lazers...healer stress was high because you had to run across the room most of the time to heal someone, and the debuff was uncleansable so someone who wasn't able to move fast enough out of fire would take extra damage. This is most of the group. Due to the pattern of the boss, we were able to move ahead of the floor fires at the beginning, but there isn't enough warning to move out of them if you don't know what to anticipate (Took me several wipes to notch down the pattern. I like the mechanic, needs more warning) I noticed most of the posts on this thread occurred in early March prior to the first 'fixes', so this is current as of March 16, after the LOS 'fix' and other patches done. Some feedback (I'm one of the few who know the feedback will likely be ignored but would like to give as much info as possible so there are fewer bugs when it goes live and everyone else plays the game doesn't get burned out going against unkillable bosses.) Before we go into it, thank you for fixing a few of the other issues - though taking away the LOS interrupt...well, I'm not going to thank you for that change. Mostly thank you for making the boss killable. So far we've only killed the first boss. I may update this thread tomorrow when we pull the second boss. My team went to work on the OP in Story mode today. A few thoughts - There needs to be more warning in story mode for the floor fire. ESPECIALLY since story mode should be able to be completed by all players in the game. It was extremely difficult for experienced players to kill the boss with the uncleansable debuffs ticking on them, and this will be impossible for most story mode players to complete. I understand making it challenging - it should be - but most players are not at the skill levels of the sales teams on the servers, so when they get together for an op, it should be (In story mode) a bit more survivable. - For story mode, I would also suggest reducing the number of clicks needed to drop the shields around the bombs. 2 would probably be better for story mode players. - Story mode the end cast either needs to be longer or interruptable. Again, please take into account that most players are not on the level of the sales teams. Story should be difficult but not impossible for newer players. - I do not like the size of the room. As a healer I spent most of my time running around to get in range of the other players to heal them. Even standing in mid often means you're out of range of the other players a lot. This is more of a personal complaint, but again, for story mode raiders this is something that really ups the challenge, especially with the fire and lazers going out and moving people around. It's very unfriendly for AOE heals, and very unfriendly for melee dps. - We started the attempts with 2 tanks, 4 dps, and 2 healers, and ended up switching to 5 dps due to the one-shot mechanic. There's too much down time due to the shield on the boss for 4 dps alone to kill it. - Prior to starting the fight I pulled an invisible add with a kolto bomb which put us in combat...even without having pulled the boss. Please make it so the Kolto bombs won't pull the invisible adds in the walls. - I can't comment on the graphics since (due to issues that no one is able to figure out) PTS is not loading on my new computer, so I was playing on my old toaster (which is able to run the pts but god forbid you try to have semi decent graphics on it or it will explode) but from what my team mates were saying it looked pretty good. - Why does the first subway tunnel have an exhaustion zone and not the second? (Mostly curious and wondering if it's connected to an achievement) - Overall, the concept is good. I think the dev(s) who came up with this are extremely Sadistic, but it will be challenging even in the new gear. However, if this op is one that you actually want pug groups to play using the group finder, the difficulty will need to be dropped a bit. Currently, everyone needs to be in voice chat communicating everything, and this is not typically possible in pug groups. I do not believe this op is currently at the skill level for the average pug group to complete. The feedback that I have gotten from other teams that have also tried this is that it is difficult (even for Nim raiders), and most who completed the op did so prior to the LOS interrupt 'fix'. - Side note: The first boss did not drop loot. I know this is probably intended in the PTS, but please don't forget to change that when it goes live.
  2. Edit: Realized this was on the wrong thread, so I copied it over there. 3. I know most people aren't, and like I mentioned it runs just fine on my old computer. But it absolutely refuses to run on my new computer.
  4. I've been trying to log into the PTS server for a while and have been running into some issues. For starters, when I first downloaded the PTS on my computer, after launching it completely glitched out and quickly crashed. However, I made it to the character selection screen. To troubleshoot, I started by restarting my computer, which did nothing. So I uninstalled the PTS and re-installed it. Now, it won't even take me to the log in screen. I have about 3-5 seconds during which steam looks like it is attempting to launch the game, but then it reverts and shows that the game is not running or in the process of starting up. I have (at this point) uninstalled and re-installed the PTS about...4 times total, with a 5th time in progress right now (The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over again and expecting different results). When I ran the steam thing to check the files, a message came up saying that one file was now working right, but that steam would try and fix it. Spoiler...It did not get fixed. I've tried to set it as run as an admin, but none of my apps installed through steam have that option. I've checked the forums and google for solutions, and since there's not bit file for me to remove, I can't try that solution either. The computer I'm trying to run this on is new - I recently upgraded from a toaster that runs windows 10 which is able to run the PTS just fine on 8gb of ram. This computer is a windows 11, has an i9 processor, 64gb of Ram...and it is not running a program that my toaster is able to run. I'd like to be able to try out the new op on a computer that isn't going to give me the blue screen of death randomly, so any solutions/fixes are appreciated. Update: 5th reinstall finished, I opened it, Steam performed the initial update/load...and then the game stopped working again. Still not able to open PTS on my computer. The Steam message is still: "1 file failed to validate and will be reaquired'
  5. I would love to know if this was ever resolved. I am having the same issue on my (new) computer but my old computer is still running it fine. I have: 12th Gen Intel® Core i9-12900K 3.19 GHz 64 GB Ram Windows 11 Pro I've trouble shooted as much as possible, restarted the computer, uninstalled and re-installed the pts, etc, and I've hit a brick wall with 0 success.
  6. Field re-spec doesn't work. I can understand if y'all don't want us switching between classes in FPs and such, but please fix it so we can switch between dps and heals. I really don't want to drop q's when the group finder matches multiple heals/tanks in one group which would cause the fp to go two-three times as long as it should. I just want to be able to switch from dps to heals on the fly to help my group out - like I do on live. Otherwise, the point of loadouts gets seriously nerfed.
  7. Master Mode FP scaling is unbalanced. Every MM FP I've done, no matter the group, has had every boss hit enrage. Same for TFB Vet mode - that was also very unbalanced. We hit enrage there too.
  8. Character feels a bit slow on leveling - might be because of how few abilities are granted at a time. I think everyone in this thread is used to getting 4-5 abilities for every couple of levels. The change may not be a bad thing - it just slows the leveling waaaaay down as things take longer to die Also, couldn't find the right place to post this, but slicing nodes are not working on the pts. I was trying to level crew skills as well, and scavenging and archeology work fine, but slicing just does not work. Haven't tried bio yet. I've been playing mostly sorc (Inquis and warrior to see the diff) Something of note - I'm doing a bunch of side quests to keep my level up so I'm not underleveled at the next planet. Players who just want to do story will definitely not be leveling fast enough.
  9. I haven't tried out the combat styles yet due to the missing descriptions. I know the descriptions were uploaded to the thread, but since I do not know which ones apply to which choice, haven't tried them yet. Things I've noticed: Merc appears to be a lot more squishy. Pants on the starter outfit are...weird. Pink, and then occasionally blue with writing. Probably a glitch (Low priority, PTS server) There is not a tactical gear vendor for merc like there is for operative/guardian/inquisitor. I know gear set bonuses are not working, but having the right tactical would be key to knowing how the combat style fares. Not sure if this lack was planned or not. Side question: WIll the tacticals be the same with the update or will we have new tacticals to go with the new armor sets?
  10. Scaling does not seem to be working in vet mode flashpoints either. Haven't tried a story of MM flashpoint yet.
  11. This is probably not the place to post this, but I'm a newb who apparently can't find where to report issues not pertaining the game scaling for the PTS server. A few issues I've found 1. Character portraits and the gear/outfit designer are warped - doesn't affect gameplay unless you have a bunch of rpers 2. Insulating blast appears as a new ability on your bar as opposed instead of as stacks when using thundering blast. Still testing things out, but I love what's been done for both the Operative and Sorc healers so far!
  12. I'm rather happy to provide this. I've tried to do this quest a few times, and each time run into the issue of being unable to complete it because one of the drop sites doesn't work. The other 2 do. Unfortunately...I'm not the most computer literate so I'm not 100% on how to send you the screenshots. When I tried this and couldn't finish it, I brought in a few friends to try and help with it, and they couldn't either. I've tried re-setting the mission, aborting it and re-starting it...Nothing has worked. Anyway, I"m not entirely sure how to attach images to this. I have a screenshot of one of the sites that works, and then the screenshot of the one that doesn't. And it's just that one. Both of the others still work. I googled it at the time, and apparently it's an old issue. Some people fixed it by switching instances, but that hasn't worked for me.
  13. Um. No. A competing guild got 60 players online, at the same time. All running Flashpoints, OPs, Heroics, GSF. They were grinding. The guild in question had 8 players online, and was still out-competing the other 60 players...So yeah. Nope. That's wrong. Though technically yes. Any guild could macro the crafting exploit...the issue is, these guilds have things called 'honor' and have read the Terms that they agreed to when they joined the game and abide to them...while the others do not. Edit: We got off track of the OP's point here as well. The point is to increase the number of planets available to invade...The OP was not complaining about the crafting exploit. We got the point, the Devs are tuning a blind eye to the bots. Instead, the OP was offering a solution to make everyone happy. So not entirely sure what you're complaining about Tumblecheck.
