  1. It surprise me that maintenance is for both EU and USA servers while servers for the EU and USA are separated. Can't they just split their maintenance for EU and USA times and don't give some people short end of the stick? On the other hand, if servers are in the Ireland... Maybe they can't do separated maintenance for UE and USA?
  2. I explained my point and we have reached an agreement (or at least understanding for each other's opinion) with Setanian already... Curious is that you decided to use my earlier post instead of my final one where I detailed what I meant. You might not agree on this, but that won't make my point any less true.
  3. From my experience NPC was always Non Playable Character, but not in terms of mechanics but actual roleplaying. If you can't roleplay your companion then it's still an NPC with some fixed story designed by creators (GM or BioWare in that example). From mechanical point of view companions aren't typical NPC's and you have some degree of control upon them, making them unique from all the other NPC's. They are very useful, but still I can't consider them NOT being NPC's (more or less controllable and useful). That's at least my point, but I am roleplayer through and through.
  4. Then why are you trying to prove that companion isn't an NPC? (S)he is. They serve really no different role than in KotOR 1 or 2. I don't need. It doesn't prove my argument wrong. If soloing content is an (MMO)RPG part for you then that will suffice as an answer for me. When it's you who don't get what I say (judging from your answers)? Hardly. Read my post again. We clearly talk about different things, but only you display aggressive stance while discussing this.
  5. No, it's you who don't understand what I am saying. It's a MMORPG. RPG part stands for something. Role Playing Game. You mistake controlable (to some degree) NPC with the player character. I am in good RP guild so I know the difference between my character and my companion. You don't play/roleplay your companion. Only your self. This is a fact.
  6. Characters in the flashpoints are played by people. Living beings. There is no need to argue over semantics. Companion IS an NPC. You don't play him/her. You play your character. (In Role Playing term of course). And companions ARE dumber than players and thus are less effective than any living person can be.
  7. I only want to point out that "equip" is term that can be interpreted in a variety of ways.
  8. Equip who? I agree on "Sell" though. It's a good choice. Straightforward.
  9. I never disagreed with you on that point. My issue is that it's very inflexible system and people are superior to the machines because they can adopt do different situations and respond accordingly. With NBG I can roll equally OR do something else. That's why I see it as better. It will be such as people will make it to be. People are different and you already know the point of all this.
  10. Then Master Looter wouldn't be a solution really. You need to decide draws sometimes and in NBG system it works well enough to use it as default one. Maybe they should just add another looting system to all that exist now instead of reducing current system to roll/pass for all interested?
  11. They probably overlooked that some people do good and bad things and aren't dedicated to only one of these Light Side and Dark Side alignments. I was neutral player almost all my story and only at Corellia I reached Light Side level I. They need to start thinking about neutral players in the future.
  12. Is there a way to roll to decide who of two/three players should get it if they all need it?
  13. It will only make things problematic for groups who can reach an agreement on several levels - you won't know if someone is taking it because (s)he needs it or just take it for the sake of the taking and your pass (in order to allow the group to equip itself more efficiently) is needless. You invite randomness for all when there are people who doesn't want random rolling or want to minimize it as far as possible. While the current system can be exploitable or create rifts in some cases it's still better (because it's flexible) than blunt mechanical fairness. If you want to solve problems of one group by throwing the problem to someone else then it's not a solution at all.
