  1. Your theory would make sense. Let's look at the two of them... Revan An extremely powerful Jedi Master. Defied the Jedi Council and, along with his Jedi Padewan Alek, lead the Republic Army to victory against the Mandalorians. A brilliant strategist, Revan's masterfully crafted battlefield tactics combined with his charisma and naturally strong connection to the Force made him one of the most formidable opponents the Mandalorians have ever faced. Revan had been touched by the Dark Side, however, and activated the Mass Shadow Generator above Malechor IV, defeating the Mandalorians once and for all but sacrificing much of the Republic fleet in the process. He is one of the few Jedi to join the Sith Order and return to the Jedi redeemed. Emperor Vitiate, Supreme Master and Dark Lord of the Resurgent Sith Empire Incomprehensibly powerful, immortal, unassailable master of all Sith in the known galaxy. His only goal is to consume all life, all energy, all Force power in the universe. He is determined to become everything by destroying everything and become the Dark Side incarnate. Vitiate is willing sacrifice star systems and wipe out entire civilizations in his pursuit of galactic annihilation. Vitiate is recognized as the highest authority in the entire Sith Empire and His word is law. Even the Dark Council bends to his will, though very few members throughout the Council's history have ever been in his presence, fewer still have survived to tell of their encounter. His power is strong enough to create constant lightning storms over Dromund Kaas, evidence of his universal power over the entire Empire. His only fear is death and he will do anything, even sacrificing His entire Empire, if it means ensuring his continued survival. Though the Empire is fanatically loyal to his Imperial Highness, Vitiate cares nothing for them, viewing the entire Empire as a means to a greater end. It makes sense that, as a last resort, Vitiate would have contingency plans in place in the event of the death of one of his host bodies. Furthermore, since the Emperor used his connection with the imprisoned Revan to see Force Visions. It only makes sense that Vitiate would be prepared to transfer his mind into Revan's powerful body. Since he cares nothing for the Empire, and passionately hates the Republic (especially the Jedi Order) for driving the Sith species to near-extinction, he would be willing to form a third faction of devoted followers capable of wiping out both factions in a single masterful campaign. It is entirely possible that everything that has transpired in all class stories has done so according to his own designs. Perhaps the visions he had from Revan's connection to the Light have given him knowledge enough to manipulate galactic events towards this eventuality. Perhaps he wanted Revan to be freed so that Revan would lower his mental defences enough for him to seize control. Maybe he allowed his host body to be killed by the Jedi Knight to perpetuate the rumor of his death to allow him to enact his plan in safety and security. His every 'defeat' may have occurred purposefully in order to falsify his own destruction in order to seize Revan (or perhaps some other powerful Jedi Master, Sio Bakarn may have also been a candidate). Remember that victory for the Empire is NOT Vitiate's goal, total galactic annihilation IS. Nothing is more important to him than his ultimate goal.
  2. Okay TOR, this has been bugging me for a while and I wanted to know if it's just me. I've noticed that, in comparison to Darth Baras, Lord Zash is a pretty bad Sith master. Allow me to explain. *Disclaimer: Spoilers for the Sith Inquisitor story follow, read at your own risk!* By contrast... *Disclaimer: Spoilers for the Sith Warrior story follow, read at your own risk!* What are your thoughts? If we ignore the tendency for Sith Lords to kill one another, who's the better Sith Master? I'm in Baras' corner, myself.
  3. Skavak for Smuggler because he's such a stark contrast between the heart-of-gold smuggler and the dirt-bag-murderer criminal. Also the Sith Inquisitor and Darth Thanaton because of the sheer bitter hatred he has for you. Tries to kill you more than once and culminates beautifully at the end of the act.
  4. All of the planet Taris is one gigantic KOTOR reference. The Endar Spire. The Promised Land. Rukil, the old guy from the Undercity. The Rakghouls. The Rakghoul Syrum. Not to mention the fact that Revan and HK-47...and HK-51. Even the title of the game "Star Wars: the Old Republic" "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic".
  5. As powerful as Jedi are, they are perfectly killable. Don't believe me? Watch the arena battle scene from Attack of the Clones. Count the Jedi that start off alive and then count the Jedi that are still alive at the end...I think there are 5 or 6 out of around 50 or 60. They were killed by battle-droids...BATTLE-DROIDS!! If an Opperative had access to Cortosis weaponry they would have a minimal defence against a lightsaber. If the Opperative were a Cyborg, they would be strong and fast enough to compete with a Jedi. If the Opperative had access to devices such as Flamethrowers, Shotguns, or other slug-throwers they would be able to kill the Jedi easily (these weapons are proven to be highly effective against force users). Yes an Imperial Agent, given the correct equipment, could kill a Jedi with minimal effort.
  6. Darth Bane is still a few centuries away yet. The Great Schisms still need to happen as well I believe. Honest mistake though, lore before The Phantom Menace is hard to follow.
  7. Best Class Story: 1.) Sith Warrior: Plays radically differently depending on your DS/LS choices and makes you feel like a total boss after Chapter 1 and during the Final Batte (Won't spoil it for anybody who hasn't finished the SW story). 2.) Bounty Hunter: You really feel as if you aren't a member of the Sith Empire and that you are indeed an independent agent in the Galaxy. You can decide to better the Empire or the Republic (indirectly of course). Worst Class Story: 1.) Jedi Consular: Boring, doesn't reward Light Side choices as much as it seems to praise Dark Side choices. You don't feel like an important individual like you do in Jedi Knight or Sith Inquisitor. You feel like a tool rather than a wise and powerful Jedi Master. 2.) Trooper: "Yes Sir", "Right away Sir", "I fight for the Republic"...urgh...is anybody else tired of all this?? You're another dumb yes-man army grunt. You don't feel like a commando. I would greatly prefer the Republic Commando style dialogue; informal, makes you feel like a total boss. When I play trooper I feel like punching my character through my computer because he feels like such a tool.
  8. 1.) Emperor Vitate, our all-powerful Untimate Master. 2.) Darth Revan, master of the darkness and the light. 3.) Darth Malgus, for being as good as Vader but able to use Force Lightning 4.) Darth Sideous, the only Sith Lord ever to beat the Republic without fighting them. 5.) Darth Krayt, the only Sith Lord to throw the Rule of Two to the wind. 6.) Darth Nihlus, the only Sith Lord to completely wipe out the Jedi Order (if you played KOTOR II you'd know that the Meetra Surik, aka the Exile, was nolonger a jedi and that the council had given up on beating the Sith and focused on surviving.)
  9. Actualy, thats wrong buddy, Star Wars cannon says that the Sith Emperor the JK fights at the end of Chapter III is NOT the real Emperor but one of his many bodies. He simply transfers his life essence to other bodies similar to the way Palpatine did to survive his death at Vader's hands at the Batttle of Endor. The Emperor's REAL body is the last of the original Sith Species, with black eyes, not a human with red eyes. Obviously you have not read The Old Republic: Revan because they SPECIFICALY say Lord Vitate (Sith Emperor) is the LAST original Sith anyware in the galaxy not a white-skinned human in Act III of the JK story and that he SPECIFICALY has BLACK eyes not red ones as he does in act III of the JK story. Plus this is a brand new game, do you REALLY think they would kill of a faction leader THIS early on in release, let alone the Dark Lord of the Sith? Thats like having the SW kill off Jedi Grand Master Satile Shan at the end of Act III instead of Baras... it just doen't make sense to simply annhialate such an influential and powerful character that way. Sorry if I sound like a troll or a complete jerk but those are the facts.
  10. This sums up this entire issue. So you want neutral gear and relics and whatnot so you get the devs to maybe wanna put it in game. Well guess what... theres a war going on and you are gonna need to make some hard choices eventually. This game is ABOUT the extremes of both the light and the dark not the middle. If you are playing a Jedi and you see a Lightsaber with stats and a cool design you like but it needs Dark Allignment well tough luck, you're not getting it unless you make a dark shift. This is not being unfair this is being rational. If said lightsaber is called the "Dark Saber of Slaughter" or something you dont see a Jedi consular running around with it while he helps a cat out of a tree. What I'm trying to say is that just because the items in SWTOR need an allignment requirement to be fulfilled doesn't mean you can't still live yur own story. You can't expect the devs to change an entire aspect of the game's functionality just so you can live out that one character's story better just because you think the game should be 100% fair to all players. Guess what... this is simply never going to happen and expecting Bioware to make a major shift in the game's allignment system just for you is an unreasonable demand. I don't mean to sound callis here but it's the truth from my standpoint. I fully understand certain classes like smuggler and Bounty Hunter would have a large ammount of players who want to play neutral and I completely understand, I believe this is totaly reasonable. All I am saying is that you need to make a shift some time. I think it's better to bite the bullet and pick a side since you can allways change your allignment anytime you feel like anyways. You can't allways get what you want but if you try sometimes you can get what you need.
  11. The Rakghouls started out as one of Naga Sadow's Sith Experiments while he was still Dark Lord of the Sith way back when. They were created with Sith Magic and eventualy became a major threat to Naga Sadow's Sith Empire so he exiled his creations to Taris where they remain to this day. Naga Sadow designed the Rakghouls so that whenever an enemy was infected with the plague, they would become a twisted and savage monster that would obey Sadow's commants from his Meditation Sphere. This way he could conquer entire systems without deploying any troops using only the Rakghoul plague, however, the Rakghouls resisted his domination and rebelled. Hope this answers some questions.
  12. Yeah if you were in stasis for 300 years while being mentally tortured, manipulated and drained you'd be one freighter short of a convoy when you finaly came to. I realy like that Bioware decided to put a finisher on Revan's saga because the whole "His fate is unknown" thing really started ticking me off. Good job Bioware and Lucasarts!
