  1. OK, I was able to log in, too!! Here is the interesting part: I had been playing on a super-old Preferred account - the interface editor has now transferred the old saved IE to my subbed account. I can live with that, except that it seems I'm missing a quickbar. 🤷‍♀️ Wouldn't mind that back, but I have no idea how you would pull that off. LOL. If SWTOR could throw enough cartel coins our way so that we could catch up with GS, that would be fantastic. Otherwise... Thanks team!!!!!!! EDIT: WE FIXED IT!!
  2. I may have to agree with this. Coming up on FIVE years of solid play (barring a few vacations). I won't be starting over, either. FACTS: We were able to play before the update Those who've tried can play a FTP account on the same computer that rejects their sub or preferred accounts We've qualified our systems and tried all the fixes This was the first day in a very long time that I didn't jump out of bed, excited to play SWTOR.
  3. This is from my "tech guy" who looked at my system (regarding the above): "Yes, the dedicated memory is 128 MB, but you have an integrated graphics card, and that value is fictitious. It just to gives a number for games to look at. There's a way to overwrite that in the registry editor, but all that does is allow checks against VRAM requirements to pass for videogames that have that check. Systems with integrated graphics cards will automatically adjust the use of system RAM to meet the needs of the game/apps that's drawing on it. If this had been a problem, your game would not have been working before the update. But you've been playing the game for years. And considering other players who have more sophisticated systems than yours are running into the same launcher problem, I have trouble thinking this is the issue." One of the other things we just tried is wiping out any residual files from any of the SWTOR directories in programs and user app data folders (backing them up of course), then did a full clean install from scratch. Still stuck on the same screen about 20 seconds into the launch.
  4. OK. Officially tried all prescribed fixes/troubleshooting below and still can't get past that Chains in the Dark screen. - Verified that all hardware meets minimum or more specs to run the game: OS Windows 10 Pro 16 GB RAM Intel HD 520 Graphics Card with 1.0 GB RAM, supports Shader 3.0 or + (otherwise it wouldn't have run the game pre-update). Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6600U CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2801 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) Nearly 300 GB of free storage space on the C: drive Wireless internet connection - no issues before the update. - Made sure that swtor was made an exception for all firewall and anti-virus protections. These were not issues before the update. - Uninstalled the game, installed the latest Direct X and Visual c++ support software as provided by SWTOR support, then reinstalled the game, and rebooted computer. - Ran a repair on SWTOR using the SWTOR_setup.exe file. - Backed up the settings file (renaming the folder) and let the SWTOR launcher generate a new default settings file. - The new default settings' "client_settings.ini" file had the following settings: GraphicsQuality = 1 TextureQuality = 1 (My tech guy wrote this - btw, he's able to launch his subbed SWTOR just fine!) Next steps, please.
  5. So, have they confirmed that the same thing happens across the subbed accounts of all the players who have posted in this thread? If they have, then we can positively say that there are no coincidences in this instance...
  6. I could go for some Cartel Coins sent my way so that I can catch up with the GS levels on which I am now sorely behind.
  7. Got this from CS: in %localappdata%\SWTOR\swtor\ > client_settings.ini to open with notepad in the renderer part > NativeHeight = needs to be 900 and NativeWidth = 1600 > FullScreen = false > Save. Changed the settings, but it still freezes on the Chains in the Dark screen. 😑
  8. Got this from CS: in %localappdata%\SWTOR\swtor\ > client_settings.ini to open with notepad in the renderer part > NativeHeight = needs to be 900 and NativeWidth = 1600 > FullScreen = false > Save.
  9. UPDATE: I called CS and they are working on this issue. It may take up to 24 hours to resolve. Call them at 1-855-345-2186 and get your account verified so that you can be on the list. See ya around the galaxy (eventually! LOL)
  10. The CS guy with whom I spoke, took a look and said my account didn't seem to have any issues.
  11. Is there a list? Where, exactly, is this list? I want on. LOL
  12. I called yesterday. They sent me an email with links and directions. Did all of them and it still didn't fix. Also made sure my VPN wasn't getting in the way, and that the launcher was in the 'Friendly' list with my security. Still not fixed
  13. One of our gaming friends on Twitter said that he created a new account and could log in there, but his other two subbed accounts got stuck on the same Chains in the Dark screen.
