  1. Like the title says. While on ord mantel and Tython on 5 different characters I got banned from general chat for linking the victorious pioneer's gear. 5 different characters, 5 different times I sent a message through chat and it went through but then I tried to link the Victorious pioneer's armor in chat afterwards for one hour I couldn't chat in general chat anymore. Is this a bug? Because of the toxic chat that they let go through you would think that linking an item wouldn't cause an issue like that.
  2. So here's my question. Do GMs squelch people in general chat? I was unable to send anything through to general chat tonight on tython after typing in "Jesh I'm level 40 already and haven't left tython yet." I was unable to send anything in general chat for over an hour then I left for the fleet. When I got to the fleet I typed in "Hmm" and it went through then I couldn't type in anything else. Nothing I typed in went through. I can chat in guild chat and party chat but not in general chat. I don't think either of those would warrant a chat ban considering everything else they let through if GMs do monitor chat. If not what could cause that to happen?
  3. I don't know why a dps would do that in anything that requires a tank. A dead dps is zero dps.
  4. The way I see it tanks should be able to generate enough threat to handle the dps going full on not even taking the fraction of a second to use the OGCD threat reduction. Tanks have enough to worry about already with their position, the bosses position, adds and mitigation CDs on top of dps rotation and mechanics. Its counter productive to have them have to worry about threat too. What's so game breaking about them generating half the dps but 4 times the threat? Does them generating too much threat break the game? No. One of these days a company is going to come along and realize this and the rest of us who don't tank won't have to wait in que for 30 minutes waiting for a tank because no one wants to play the role.
  5. I've noticed when running MMs that if I don't use threat mitigation abilities tanks lose aggro very quickly to me. I have yet to run across a tank who does not lost aggro to me at least a few times during a boss fight even with threat mitigation. So I got curious and looked up the guides for tanking and immediately I noticed an issue. Tanks seem to be forced to use force taunts in their rotation. Why? Should those skills not be reserved for moments where things go wrong or for tank swaps? Every guide I've seen says to use force taunts in tank rotation. This is the only MMO I've ever played where tanks have to use force taunts to maintain threat. It seems to me that, when I que for MMs, it's almost always tanks who are needed. I'm curious if this is because no one wants to play the role because they have issues like this? How long has this been an issue for tanks? Honestly I thought all tanks just sucked but if it's really a design flaw in the role then maybe EA, Bioware should do something about it.
  6. I recently ran into a bug where changing the mission you were on in KOTFE rewrote the entire backstory to a default state. This removed a companion and caused issues with the romance of another. It basically removed any hint I had ever romanced that companion. I reported this to Customer service by creating an in game ticket. The first response was explaining how they cannot fix dialog choices in the story and closed the ticket. So I created another ticket explaining that it was not a dialog choice it rewrote the entire story EVERY dialog choice I had made just because I changed the mission I was on. even put in there THIS IS NOT ABOUT A DIALOG CHOICE. and they gave me the exact same cut and paste response from the first ticket and closed the ticket. Anyone else get the feeling that Customer Service doesnt even read the tickets?
  7. Level 65, guardian, sentinel, vanguard, commando, scoundrel, shadow, juggernaut, marauder, agent, powertech, mercenary and assassin. All item level 208 or better and most full 216. Guardian, vanguard, shadow, assassin, juggernaut and power tech all tank spec (which is what I'm good at and prefer to play). With experience racked up since beta as a tank class and having done every flash point and raid including all NM modes on my Vanguard and assassin, I can honestly say I KNOW the classes very well. I also know what they're capable of and what you should avoid trying to do with the class. I had no trouble soloing most of the heroic 2s and even some of the heroic 4s pre 4.0 with my healing companions in level appropriate gear with no presence gear equipped. Now in comes 4.0 making me feel like an idiot for spending so much time and money on gearing out my companions and making me feel inferior to my companion. Now as a healer on my scoundrel and agent I actually got vote kicked out of flash points so they could summon their companions. This ticked me off but I felt it might have been just a few of the community that are that way and requed and completed the Flash Point. So yea the companion heals were OP, everyone knew this, everyone exploited the crap out of it. Now in comes 4.0.2 and now even my healing companions, like Treek, Doc, Elara and Talos, can't heal as good as they used to. So I tried a little experiment, I let them grab aggro on three normal mobs on yavin 4 level synced to 62 at influence rank 12 and watched them fail to heal themselves through it. They died, I mopped up and re-summoned them. Tried again after starting KOTFE and getting the three starter companions, again went to yavin 4 aggrod the same mobs and watched them die to three normal stoneray mobs. This made me wonder what did you guys do to the healer companions that made them worse healers then they were? So I called customer support and canceled my account. I will resub in another year or so after I'm done getting distracted with other mmos and feel a bit nostalgic (maybe if it's fixed by then).
  8. Ok just checked something with Kira on my guardian. In a level synced state (level synced to 62 on yavin 4) Re-summoning her with a CUSTOM dual saber with NO HILT, NO MODS, NO CRYSTAL her dmg is 1648-1666 with 2017 bonus dmg. Bonus healing is 1438. With a Custom dualsaber with a 178 HILT, 178 Mods and a +41 power crystal, and re-summoning her her dmg is 1648-1666 with 2017 bonus dmg and bonus healing is 1438. Now I noticed that when summoning her her stats are lower just before my buffs apply to her. In a non level synced area (my strong hold) with the Custom dual saber without mods her dmg is 1964 to 1982 with 2342 bonus dmg. Now upon initial summoning in a level synced area (same place yavin 4 level synced to 62) with a non modded custom dual saber or the modded custom dual saber, her stats are weird. Her dmg is 1934-2107 with 1901 bonus dmg and only 1306 bonus healing. Re-summoning her after changing weapons does nothing to the dmg or healing but when my buffs are applied to her her stats revert to the 1648-1666 dmg with 2017 bonus dmg and 1438 bonus healing. Something is bad wrong in the companion department, and the devs need to look into this.
  9. OK i keep hearing heroics 2s cant be solo'd my companion no longer makes me a god. Umm did you miss the HEROIC 2 part? It's supposed to be hard to near impossible to solo. It's supposed to be a group effort. Even fungus knows that sometimes you have to band together to survive and It's advertised as HEROIC 2 (as in need two players to accomplish) not heroic Meh its hard but doable with one. I have read on these forums where people have said "I wanna play the way I want to and I'm not going to improve myself just because it's supposed to be hard". In other words they have said "gimme gimme gimme I don't wanna earn nothing". I wonder how many of them that are subscribers actually use their own money? I read "It takes forever to get a group for the heroics." If people would stop trying to solo Heroics it would be easier to get a group, so maybe with the nurf more groups will start forming? Just saying. And FYI I just solo'd Alderaan's Heroic SF on my sentinel (208 crystal vendor gear) Watchman spec with Lana at 14. Sure the Exarch was tough but I did it. Adrenals and stimpaks help.
  10. I'm finally moving along the download line. 95.54% at 1.17 kb/s. Feels like i'm back to 90s dial up connections and I keep expecting to hear "You have mail".
  11. I hear two different opinions here. Those that like playing a game that challenges them and those that want to "god mode" everything or it isn't fun. Here's my two cents. Challenge gives you a sense of real accomplishment. Walking through this game in "god mode" would make this game pointless. It would be like playing monopoly by yourself giving yourself all the money and the property. Pointlessly rolling the dice. There is no sense of accomplishment, no fun at all, just boring repetition until your brain is numb. Now if you like that there are many single player games you can cheat your way through. I prefer a challenge that gives me a sense of accomplishment so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time. Now for those of you who complain that it's to much like real life and you play the game to get away from life, cowboy up. Life is all about experience. Experience and memories form the core of your personality. You gain that experience and make those memories by rising to the challenges that are thrown your way. So, cowboy up and go out and make some memories, rise to the challenges you're given and enjoy life the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Work hard, Play harder.
  12. Meh I'm going to forget the patch and try some of the other MMOs out there. This is getting a bit frustrating and I don't like spending money on nothing. Even if I've only lost 1 cent a penny saved is a penny earned. I refuse to pay 1 cent to beat my head against a wall till I pass out and personally that is exactly what this feels like.
  13. Ive been stuck at 95.52% since 1 pm eastern and it's now 6 pm and still 95.52%. I keep getting network error and retrying 310. Slow download? Try non existent. This plus all the other bugs this game is experiencing leads me to believe this game is on it's last leg. To bad, could have been a great game, thanks EA for cutting more corners so your CEO can have a new Ferrari.
  14. Ok I am going to address this as fast and accurate as possible. First off as a raid leader I NEED to know where the group short commings are so I can address them to make the whole raid successful. A raid isnt about one person. Its about 8/10/20/40/60 etc. people who are trying to work as a single unit to get a job done. That unit is only as strong as it's weakest link. If one person comes into an end game raid and says Im gonna dps this raid (even though they're tank or heal specd) and they dont care what kinda dps they do (or heals etc.) they are dragging 8/10/20 etc. people down because they either don't know (which is only a slim chance considering they are at level cap) or they are being selfish and lazy. Yes they are being selfish and lasy PERIOD. Some MMO bosses have what's known as an enrage timer. It means that the boss MUST die by a certain time or he kills the whole raid. Take a 10 man raid for example. 1 tank, 2 heals, 7 DPS. If the boss's enrage timer is 120 seconds and he has 100k health then the dps must pull 120 DPS EACH or we fail. Simple math. It's not being an elitest to say you must pull this much dps to beat the enrage timer. Its a GAME MECHANIC. The fault does not lie with the raid leaders who want their raid to succeed. it lies with the selfish people who say "I dont care what I do, Im doing it my way. If you came into my business applying for a job and told me "I don't really care about what you want me to do. Im going to do that job my way and if it doesn't get done... Oh well" 1.) Im going to THROW you out of my office. 2.) You aint getting the job period. Now all that being said people do abuse DPS meters, this is something no one person can change. There are jerks out there who are gonna say "Why am I top dps, Good gawd people u aint pulling a billion dps You're a NUUBBBB." These people will get KICKED from my raids quickly. Period. No warning, no shut up, no why you say that?, Just a quick boot to the butt. However if someone comes into my raid saying they can do the job (either they've done it before or they know the fight) and tries to DPS in a tank spec or can't quite cut the mustard in their current spec, I'm putting them in touch with a class lead that knows how to help them. If they refuse the help and call me an elitest jerk because of a game mechanic, they get the boot as well. *Puts out the fires on his keyboard* In closing, a raid IS NOT something you can be casual about. IT"S NOT. If you can't handle that I'm going to be checking whether or not you're my weakest link, don't raid. Stick to questing or RPing or being a social butterfly. A raid is serious end game mechanics if you can't cut it, I will help you cut it, if you can't handle being helped.... Well just leave cause you're dragging us down with your selfish and lazy attitude. A leader MUST know where his raid is comming up short, either heals, DPS, Tank failure etc. And the quickest way (with the least amount of wipes) is a Meter that measures this stuff. That being said Meters arn't the problem (As usual it's not the tools fault someone abuses it) People are the problem. Thank you for you're time for readin this. Kthnxbye.
