  1. An unfortunate fact of life beyond my control is my cognitive functions are such that I am horrible at most fight mechanics that are in FP's & OP's, and my situational awareness is nearly non existent, so I do not run FP's or OP's. Having a very effective tank comp used to allow my gunslinger / saboteur to stand a long ways off and spam AOE's. Doing stuff with my gunslinger after 7.0 went live, I was taken aback that I was nearly dying in heroics I used to hardly take any damage in. I noticed some enemy NPC's now have focused(?) attacks, with yellow lines that follow me, doing massive damage. I've used tank comps since game launch. I have always done everything possible to maximize their effectiveness, crafted purple command stims, the presence stim from vendor that stacks with the purple command stim, presence augs, etc. It is infuriating that bioware archived so many schematics in 4.0, as I only learned about presence augs after the archiving. I can only craft greens, but that is (was) better than nothing. Every "expansion" continues to take away PLAY MY WAY options which started back at 4.0 launch. As I've done since 4.0, when this sub runs out, I won't be back until the next ruination update (expansion), just to see what they trash.
  2. I play strictly solo. I've used tank comps since game launch. I have always done everything possible to maximize their effectiveness, crafted purple command stims, command stim from vendor that stacks with the purple, presence augs, etc. It is infuriating that bioware archived so many schematics, as I only learned about presence augs after archiving. Having a very effective tank comp used to allow my gunslinger / saboteur to stand a long ways off and spam AOE's. Today (02/25) I decided to attempt leveling up a Sentinel / Watchmen alt, which I've only run when level cap increases, I don't like melee classes. I used to be able to muddle thru heroics to new level cap. On Balmorra after I died multiple times fighting Collicoid mobs, I gave up. My pub / imp melee alts will stay at level 75. I made every class just to get achievements / buffs, etc. I only play Gunslinger / Imp Agent. Every "expansion" continues to take away PLAY MY WAY options which started back at 4.0 launch.
  3. ------------------------------- Agreed! I had just clicked on "Launch" for 2nd combat quest on a Commando alt, when I had to leave computer as it was loading. When I came back, I forgot I was on my Commando, thought I was on my Gunslinger, which I was planning to add Scoundrel. I added Scoundrel to my commando, darnit. When it sent me to fleet, I realized I was on the wrong alt. My gunslinger and commando wear the same armor, so there was no immediate visual clue I was on the wrong alt. As for it not being explained very well, I cannot fathom how they can change the wording to make it any clearer. When on my gunslinger, they showed me a list of specs I can choose from. Choose spec, confirm, Confirm, CONFIRM, done. Admittedly I was briefly confused on my Jedi Knight when it asked if I wanted to change my "Primary", which I do not recall reading anywhere that changing primary was an option. I clicked NO, then it took me to 2nd combat.
  4. I'm saying something good about Bioware. As a founder, I cannot recall ever posting anything positive. After a few hours of playing when 7.0 went live, it was rage quit time, again. After a couple days not logging in, I decided to check out a few things since I had nothing else to do, and sub is still active. I must say the Loadout system ROCKS! I only run Gunslinger / Imp Agent. As a solo player, having access to stealth now enables me to run group content that can be done solo using stealth, like Section X Long Shots. I remember when Long Shots was a mandatory group, but Bioware greatly simplified it. Long Shot's could have solo / group option, bringing back the original H4 for groups, leaving it as is for solo. OPTIONS! WOOT! The same could apply to other content that used to be mandatory group, not that I know what it was. To make the game really enjoyable again: * Bring back all dailies * Un-archive all crafting schematics * Reduce mat cost to one for each resource required to craft an item, including resources for stuff that has to be crafted to craft something else. * Unlimit all content so we can run what we want, when we want, retaining the original lockout system. The content variety used to be enough that I could not complete everything in one day. Playing solo, it's now so limited would I have to run the same stuff on multiple alts, the polar opposite of what the intention was for limiting daily / weekly content. I want to meander around casually doing dailies for mats and get credits for crew missions, and craft again. That's what I did until 4.0 hit. If the above happens, I might even join a guild again so I can craft stuff for guildies like I used to do, even if it's just augs, medpacks & stims, since I have all crafts. I crafted, they raided, everyone was happy & had fun. Sometimes they would drag me into an OP just to aggravate me (in a fun way), knowing they would have to "carry me", as I'm lousy at OP mechanics & no situational awareness. While it increased the challenge for them having a weak player, it ultimately helped hone their OP skills. Sometimes 2 or 3 of us would group dailies & talk in voice chat, having a good time just chatting & goofing off in game. If anyone replies / comments, please be positive. There are enough Bioware bashing posts to crush a death star already.
  5. In another thread bashing 7.0 game destruction, I said I was going to delete my account. I learned EA / bioware does not allow account deletions, IE: permanently erasing all account information & data. From EA "support": --------------------------------------- Restoring deleted accounts If you want to regain access to your account once we’ve deleted it, you may be able to reset the password to get back in. ------------------------------------ If a "deleted" account can be restored, it was NOT deleted, only deactivated. It will be a day of celebration if hackers access all of EA's hard drives, deletes all partitions, and corrupts the MBR which will destroy the drives by making them unusable, thus permanently deleting my account. An added bonus would be once news got out about this, EA's stock price would be destroyed.
  6. Subbed at game launch 2011, rage quit when 4.0 hit with crafting destruction, removal of dailies, etc. I've resubbed when "updates" occur, just to see the different ways bioware continues to trash the game, then let sub expire. The 7.0 downgrade exceeded my wildest expectations of destruction! As a strictly solo player, it appears bioware decided for me that I don't need moddable gear. I can't update my favorite weapons. I've NEVER had alacrity in my gear, but no green gear exists without it. Reputation tokens? Used to be we complete a quest, get a token. NOW need to accumulate a special currency, to get a token. Dayum Why so many more special currencies? No more resubbing, time for account deletion.
  7. I unchecked auto loot and area loot, killed something, then turned them back on. Both work now
  8. For playing solo, I set comps to tank role, and use the following: * Companion influence - fastest way is to max out influence is to use Commander's Compendium (Cartel Market, insta-max 50) - single unit costs 900CC, a 3-pack costs 1,890CC. Legendary companion gifts can be purchased from the Smuggled Supplies Vendor inside Odessen Alliance Market and Cantina - $250,000 credits EACH, which would be a HUGE amount of credits to get to max influence. * Command Augment 28 in all augment slots, increases presence - I crafted these with Synthweaving. Unfortunately I can only craft green, as bioware moved these to the "archives", cannot reverse engineer them for blue / purple schematics. * Advanced Kyrprax Command Stim - I craft these with Biochem. * Onderonian Clear Punch - Obtain at Cantina Vendors, costs $1,150 credits each, very cheap. Presence boost 116 and only lasts 30 minutes but useful if soloing hard content, and stacks with Command Stim. When 7.0 hits I will have to find out what gear pieces are most optimal for solo / companion play, as I had the four piece Taskmaster's set bonus gear that boosts companions when I posted this. My favorite class is Gunslinger (Saboteur), Imperial Agent (Engineering) is the mirror class. It has the longest range & AOE abilities cover the most territory (8 meters), with the exception of Thermal Grenade / Fragmentation Grenade. Personally I have zero Alacrity in gear, I prefer power / crit. My rotation is just fine without Alacrity. I like to gather mobs & drop AOE's. I use AOE's on high HP single targets for the D.O.T. (Damage Over Time) effects. When 7.0 hits, I will add Scoundrel to second discipline for stealth, to run stuff that can be stealth-ed thru solo.
  9. I found a fan website that seems to have data on alot of guilds, with searching / filtering: https://swtorfancommunity.com/guilds/ It's not a complete list, as it is fan curated & maintained. Still it's better than what bioware provides, which is NOTHING.
  10. When game launched, it was a big deal to get the achievement for collecting 10 million credits. Bioware started the outrageous inflation at game launch, like charging one million credits for a VIP band, to access an area that they never developed. First, bioware credit cost for most stuff is obscene, but unlikely they will ever lower prices. * 3,000 tech fragments & 1 million credits for one piece of gear * 1,000 tech fragments & 500,000 credits for an UNIDENTIFIED unique item?! * TEN THOUSAND Tech frags to trade for a Tier 3 Exotic Crafting Material?! * 250,000 credits for a single Legendary companion gift, of which a bazillion are needed to max out comp influence The prices for Cartel Market stuff is beyond obscene, but that is how they get extra revenue if someone is willing to spend real money to get digital trinkets, or stuff like the Commander's Compendium to insta max companion influence. If I was still crafting, I would likely never max out comp influence (original comps only) on six toons using regular companion gifts. I know the prices mentioned above is like pocket lint to those with billions of credits to waste. I've never played any other MMO, but it is my understanding other games have an auction house, where peeps actually bid on stuff, like ebay. Converting GTN to an auction house would possibly bring prices more towards people actually being able to obtain stuff. Reset all credits to ZERO. Slash the cost of vendor stuff by 3/4. Go ahead, throw a fit at this suggestion. At least you can grind for more credits, unlike the countless hours most of us spent grinding for comp gear on Yavin IV, and likely adding augment slots & augments, only to have bioware delete it.
  11. I cannot fathom any possible reason for removing the Belsavis, Illum, Makeb dailies & other content (other than my sarcastic post). On Makeb, the only dailies they did not remove are the ones that no one liked, or rarely ran. One peep in the former guild, he would run dailies with me, for something to do while he waited for an op group & we chatted voip.
  12. The reason content gets removed is because EA is too cheap to upgrade the 1st gen Pentium computers & primary OS to allow bigger drives for the software. Windows XP 32 bit only allows 2TB maximum. If bioware backed up the content before removing it from the game, it is likely the 5 1/4 inch floppies have gone corrupt due to material degradation. Some peeps might not get it, that this is a sarcastic flame at EA & bioware, but plausible. What other possible excuse could they have for removing dailies, cosmetic content gear & weapons, the companion gear that most of us spent countless hours grinding dailies on Yavin IV, which ended up being a complete waste? The creator of Wordpress says "Code is Poetry". For EA & bioware code must be a storage issue. While I'm ranting, bioware cheapened the game by making comps generic, and going from 5 primary stats down to one - mastery. To rehash an old rant, bioware DESTROYED crafting back at 4.0. As a solo player, I crafted with all six crafts, and ran dailies to farm mats & slicing nodes to occasionally buy special / exotic mats on GTN (back when stuff was almost affordable). When I eventually joined a small guild, guildies would provide the special / exotic mats that I could not get doing solo content, to craft stuff for them. Occasionally they might coerce me into running an op when they were just goofing around, as I am a lousy player - poor situational awareness & panic easily. Wanna wipe alot? Invite me to your group. I know this is called an MMO, but that does not preclude game creators from having content for anti-social peeps like me to do, to pass the time, like SWTOR used to have. There are options they could create that would expand game play for solo type peeps, and even give sociable peeps something different to do occasionally, like being able to take three comps into a flash point and uprisings. It doesn't have to be Master Mode content (never done MM anyway), just Veteran Mode. Running around doing dailies & heroics with three comps in a group would be a BLAST! Click attack, stand back & watch one tank, another DPS and the third heal 'em. Before anyone bashes this idea, you don't have to partake. I just wanna have fun, MY WAY. When this 30 day sub runs out, I will likely be gone again for another year or two, then might check to see if the game is still around. I'm actually surprised that it's lasted 10 years.
  13. When bioware breaks something that players can take advantage of, instead of immediately patching it, they wait, call it an "exploit" then ban players. If it's something that negatively affects game play, it takes half an eternity for them to fix it, if they ever do. There is a multitude of stuff that has been broken since game launch, TEN YEARS AGO. I gave up on being a completionist because of this. Some of the broken achievements are tied to class story. An exploit is software / code designed to alter other software / code or circumvent aspects of such, like viruses, malware, trojans, etc. Since bioware calls it an exploit when they break their software, they are purposely adulterating the code just so they can get rid of subscribers. I recently re-subbed just to slowly level some toons to watch re-runs for something to do, as both of my shoulders are ruined, very little else I can do. I only leveled up one of each character on imp side many years ago. I don't remember hardly anything, so it was kinda like leveling it for the first time. Gunslinger story I know almost by rote . I used to gather nodes for something to do while leveling. That is even a waste now, getting to a node only to not be able to pick it up. There are no bug / glitches, there are only biowares.
  14. So many things that are still broken since game launch TEN YEARS ago. I am a completionist, but bioware won't FIX the broken stuff so I can PLAY MY WAY. I stopped playing when they destroyed crafting with 4.0 update. When I did resub, I found out they had removed a huge number of dailies - I let sub run out again, even less for a solo player to do. The only reason I re-subbed this time is I am recouping from 2nd left shoulder surgery (right shoulder surgery failed, not fixable). I needed a zero impact activity on arms, to waste time. I'm just slowly leveling up toons to watch the movies. When that is done I will let sub expire again, sooner if I get too bored. My Legacy is 191,059 / 775,000. Bioware never bothered doing anything more with the Legacy system. The decoration hook system severely limits item placement, unable to decorate the way I want. Unable to PLAY MY WAY. When I read posts, comments are overwhelmingly negative. I am amazed this game(?) has lasted 10 years, but people still sub for some reason. I stated my reason above - it's not coz I like the game, it's a just cheap price to pay for something to waste time.
