  1. So to clarify, it's not that the cover bar being removed breaks the game or anything. It's the fact that I came back to find this change to the game and not one mention from Bioware on the subject (that I could find). At first I thought I was forgetting something or overlooking an option. After searching around, I saw forum posts dating back to earlier this year from confused players and not a single reply from the game maker. That's a very huge red flag for me. I would pop back on here occasionally because I was hoping to see something I would like, but it hasn't happened yet and nothing I've seen has given me any confidence it ever will. This isn't some rage thread or anything of that nature. I just felt it was important to point out how that is a very simple issue which Bioware seems to just ignore, rather than address. A simple "We removed it because a, b, and c" patch note would suffice or at least answering their players who posted in the forums about it would be the minimal acceptable level of customer service in my opinion. Instead, we have other players who reply to threads with their own opinions of why it was removed. That's just silly and like I said, a huge red flag for how other things must be running int he game.
  2. I had been around from the beginning during the beta tests and for a few years afterwards I played this game daily, but I cancelled my subscription because the changes being made to the game just weren't appealing to me and seemed to really dumb down aspects of the game while placing too much emphasis on microtransactions (the scourge of gaming today). Every year since I have popped back in for a month subscription renewal and I have to say, what I have seen each time left me more unimpressed and disappointed. Well, I've popped back in once again and I can firmly say that this company hasn't learned a single lesson in the last decade, in fact they've gotten worse. I like to play Sniper/Gunslinger, but to my dismay the cover bar was removed. Now, it's not just the fact the bar was removed that irks me. It's the fact that there are numerous forum posts on the issue from players who were caught by surprise. Bioware has not replied once to any of these posts dating back to February 2022. Seriously? You remove something from a game that people use all the time and not even a patch note on it? No response to forums or even a quick note left behind to explain anything. Your silence is deafening and just being greeted by that red flag upon my (now ultra-brief) return tells me all I need to know. I will not be subscribing any further in the future and will not be following the game anymore. I have to say Bioware, whoever is in charge of connecting to your players must only be hampered by your complete lack of understanding about your own game and how your customers use it. Just bizarre. Anyways, good luck with that. I'm out.
  3. Not sure what, if any, changes have occurred to the set bonuses since I've quit and am just waiting out my sub to expire, but the class I played as my main (Gunslinger / Sniper) needed a set bonus for energy management. Sure it isn't an issue with story mode content, but in HM raids these set bonuses are important to players. In fact, some set bonuses were so important that you would rather keep armorings from much lower level gear in order to retain them. The fact they gate these items behind RNG grinding and not behind content progression is just dumb in my opinion. But, I guess if you have no new content to progress through, where else are you going to put it? Javek
  4. Same here OP. Created mine on 12.22.10 and on my way out now. I guess if they made some massive changes (reverted gearing while using GC as a supplement and provided some new replayable group content) I would be back. Had fun while it lasted. Javek
  5. I think they are finding other games to play, that's the problem. I know after 5 years of a constant sub, I have. Most are just voicing their displeasure on the way out in the hopes that they reconsider someday or can connect the dots as to why many are leaving. I gave my feedback to them in the hopes that this team eventually is disbanded and more competent management is installed who can learn from this. It's pretty clear that the current management team is terrible at reading their customer base until there's a serious crapstorm on their hands. Even then, they are still completely clueless as to how to it should be addressed.
  6. I had been playing this game since the beta testing rounds, got my early access and waited in the server line queues to play. I never let my subscription lapse until Spring, when I decided to cancel because of the direction this game was going. I was already quite tired of it for almost a year prior to that, but I stayed on because at least I was having fun raiding with my guild and doing PVP. You can only run the same content week after week for so long. I renewed a month ago to give it a chance again and try the changes. I like the story, but completely dislike everything else and personally would much rather trade the story for a couple of operations and a flashpoint or two. It seems like every new change is centered around masking the complete lack of content development (outside of the single player aspect). It's weird now. The focus of the game used to be a progression of completing lower level content that I considered "chores" to get gear, materials, and experience, so I could then engage in harder and more rewarding content. Now the focus of the game is the chores with no reason to progress except for your own desire to gear up. There's no way in hell I am going to continue to pay a monthly subscription for that and it certainly doesn't appear to me that the strategy is going to change any time soon. I was a regular subscriber since day 1 and often spent cash in the Cartel Market. People always bring up the "silent majority" argument. Take a look at my previous forum postings and at my ID number. I am not a forum warrior and I don't speak for everyone, but there are definitely a lot others like me who are leaving because of the direction this game has taken and not making a fuss about it. People who I would consider as a vital part of the costumer base. I have to imagine they are bleeding subs at this point. Heck look at torstatus and check the lack of increased server activity after this whole thing dropped. While not a totally accurate way to define population, it tells you a lot about what's going on here.
