  1. have you ever, in the entire time the game has existed ever seen them even once acknowledge that universal lag spikes are occurring? did an informal poll on fleet asking anyone who WASN'T experiencing lag to say so. 5 minutes, not 1 reply. hardly scientific I know, but not 1 person on fleet could say their connection was good? I'm biased I know but that sounds like there just might be some kind of issue on THEIR end, especially since it's reported to not just be on SF server. may create a char on a european server just to test there but I expect it's the same there
  2. Yep, had a bunch of deaths doing the heroics, cost me about 50k in gear repairs trying to force progress on the Seasons Daily since i couldn't respond to NPC actions. that IS the gaming experience we are paying for, right? I mean this is fun?
  3. that might actually work. "I DEMAND THAT YOU TAKE MY MONEY!!!!"
  4. with every other ISP in America? no, the problem is clearly on THEIR end. and this has been a frequently recurring problem with them for as long as this game has existed. they have never once acknowledged it in that time either, the problem is ALWAYS user-side (then they quietly fix whatever the problem is on their end and pretend it never happened, until it happens again 2-3 days later). don't expect any compensation, virtual or otherwise for all the downtime either
  5. me either, note, there are no system alerts and your server status page says all is well on all servers. question, is the authentication server a server? sounds like it...
  6. just an aside, I love how you go to the server status page and it redirects you to the system alerts page for more info. to the best of my knowledge the system alerts page has never had any data on it
  7. doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I was an avid player of FFXI for years. they had to take the servers off-line after the ****shima nuclear reactors were damaged in the quake. while many players were supportive there were still a huge number of Dbags complaining about it, making demands, etc. keep in mind, not only may there not have been power to the offices where they do the work but the employees' homes as well were affected, and some employees may have been injured or killed in the quake and its aftermath. some people just have no regard for anything. don't get me wrong, this is nowhere near that level of need for a pushback on the timeline. in this case they just want to fix known issues instead of releasing it filled with bugs they would have to put up with us whining about. and the double XP event was and is to allow you to take advantage of the additional rewards with whatever new content is in the patch so they pushed it back so you still can. how much would people be whining if the patch came out with no active double XP event to go with it? seriously, just go hang out on Fleet or home world genchat to get an idea. no, Devs go ahead and get it as right as you can, I at least will still be here when you are done, and thanks.
  8. 340, an "estimated time left" indicator when downloading updates so I know I can go finish writing that novel I just started yesterday and I was aiming for about 1000 pages on... seriously, mirror servers for update loads, an idea whose time has come, almost 20 years ago now in PC gaming...
  9. 338? whatever, let me click the harvesting node on mini-map to send my companion, too many nodes are too hard to spot. 339? show lore points on map/mini-map. might also want them to glow a bit brighter, ESPECIALLY on planets like Hoth where everything that isn't white glows blue.
  10. I personally don't mind the fragments, probably because I use the gifts on my own companions, not for sale, I expect that will change once I have their I guess "Influence" now capped. I load the fragments into my inventory and go to the fleet vendor, have the companion I'm targeting out and sort by "show affordable". the great part is the preview shows the gain with that companion only so I aim for the highest gain possible and then purchase. after I know I've used all of a particular type of fragment I sort by show all and then back to show affordable to reset the list. rinse and repeat until all 3 fragment types are below the affordable threshold. give them, then talk to my companion to see if they want a private chat. It has the advantage over the other gathering skills of I can almost always choose a large gain with the companion I need. The disadvantage of course is that it costs more credits to run sufficient missions for a gift and yes, you are stuck with the odd leftover fragment until you spam missions again as stated ad nauseum elsewhere in the thread. however, if you have your income running smoothly it IS the most efficient method for raising Influence via gifts. The other skills and I frequently get gifts that are only worth small gains on a companion I don't even care about-of course I'm running 8 active toons so I transfer in my legacy and someone will have a use for them...
