  1. The sage/sorc nerf shall balance the current spread in PvE healing classes - currently 57% of all healing parses done via StarParse are sages/sorcs. Interestingly enough, although VG/PT DPS perform really great (and are a go-to class for the most difficult fights in the game), their share in DPS parses is somewhat subpar - roughly 8% (similar to guard/jugg, compared to 28% of mando/merc). I guess players just has not been appreciating their potentional enough, well too late now :-) (Source: http://ixparse.com/stats )
  2. Can you please share the details, even via PM? That conclusion is definitely not true, so if there is a CS statement indicating otherwise, I would like to clear things up. Thank you.
  3. Hey, I will quote myself from a recent reply to your similar assesment posted in another thread regarding StarParse and its compliance with TOS: (see my full reply here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=8917457&postcount=193) I respect your decision about (not) using 3rd party tools to craft your own gtaming experience, however, please refrain from presenting your personal statements about its legal (non)compliance as hard facts (as it is objectively not true). Anyways, enjoy your own SWTOR (parsing or not parsing, whatever you fancy :-)
  4. Hey there, just to clarify: StarParse is definitely NOT in any TOS violation as it does not interact with the game and does process only data provided by the game for the sole purpose of parsing. I personaly checked its compliance with a Bioware rep, you can do it too if my humble word is not enough :-) Anyways, regarding the "makes stuff easier" bit - yes, I also believe StarParse does make certain aspects of the combat easier (great example is Revan HM 3rd floor pull/push timers). However, I would argue that those are not the deciding factors whether a raid team or individual would beat the encounter or not. In other words, StarParse is more of a "convenience" (or QoL if you will) for those who has or would overcome the challenge anyway, somewhat streamlining the play for them, rather than something enabling less-skilled raiders to kill a boss. Also as already pointed out, the difficulty of WOW does not come from "hidden" mechanics (requiring you to use your own stopwatch), but rather from perfect execution and coordination requirements based on something clearly presented to you (literally showing you where to stand and when to move), allowing the raids to be much more complex and one tier (if not several) above anything SWTOR can offer in terms of dificulty. Last but not least, I believe noone would argue being able to analyze your own output (DPS, HPS, ...) leads to a better gaming performance (and experience). TL;DR StarParse does fully comply with SWTOR TOS Timers etc are more of a QoL/convenience, not a deciding factor of a succesfull raid Visible mechanics does not imply trivialized content, quite on the contrary - they allow for more interesting fights
  5. Hey there, just to clarify: Due to the limitations in SWTOR combat logging, not all effects (and stacks) are properly recorded in your combat log (especially all "buff refreshes"), therefore StarParse is unable to determine the correct uptime (or any at all). Thats why the Clairvoyance buff in that particular Karagga's encounter is listed as "2 occurences" (because your log contains two "effect gained" entries), with no uptime given (because there is never any "effect lost" entry, so no way to calculate the real coverage) - the columns "t" and "%" are intentionally left empty (notice there is neither time nor percentage displayed, so it should not be consufed with "0% uptime"). In theory, StarParse could be improved to track the Clairvoyant buff and refresh it automatically when the Clairvoyant Strike is used, but that would require a non-trivial amount of work to cover all similar abilities across all classes (by hardcoding them), so its currently beyond the scope of the tool. Hope that clears it up!
  6. The tab contains a breakdown for healing, effective healing and shielding (blue number), while the overlays display offective healing and shielding combined. For more details, please see: http://ixparse.com/features/#calculated-values http://ixparse.com/features/#raid-tab http://ixparse.com/features/#raid-overlays
  7. You are correct - unfortunatelly such is a limitation of SWTOR combat logging - everyone can access only their own data, unless they are raiding in StarParse. Total (raw) healing = total healing output (including shielding) Effective healing = total healing minus possible overheal (i.e. the actual amount of restored hitpoints/shielded damage) The "Raid healing" overlay displays the "Effective healing" by default, but it can be switched to the "Raw healing" mode (in Settings or via the "M" button) displaying "Total (raw) healing" instead.
  8. Hey, as suggested, please verify the combat logging is enabled in the game & there are no misplaced "stall" files in your folder - see http://ixparse.com/help/#unable-to-parse Happy parsing,
  9. Hey, has it just randomly stopped working or has StarParse updated itself? Are you using enlarged Windows font size (125%, 150% etc) by any chance? I have already received few similar reports over the last year, they usually fixed themselves by graphic drivers update, computer restarts/windows updates installations etc (e.g. it appears to be very random and tied to the OS). In any case, I will be happy to help you further (most efficient way is via a TeamViewer session), please contact me via email (displayed on ixparse.com and my twitter feed).
  10. Hey, there is indeed a pending issue with Windows XP builds as the initial launcher EXE does not support them, yet the tool itself does (as you discovered yourself by running the JAR file directly). Until the issue is resolved, you are free to use your method by running the launcher JAR directly (then you need to have a supported Java 8 version installed in your OS), or you can use the following BAT file: http://ixparse.com/dl/starparse.bat The BAT assumes the default installation path (C:/ drive etc), so if it does not work, try to move it to the StarParse directory (next to "starparse-launcher.jar") and run it from there.
  11. Hey there, StarParse works just fine for German and French players, as the calculations are based on IDs, which are the same for all versions; the only difference is that the abilities and such are displayed in the respective language, nothing else changes.
  12. Hey there, as already suggested, please just PM me here or send me an email to the address listed on my homepage or twitter page (cant post here) to sort it out.
  13. Amazing work! I am still in process of gathering enough raiding data for 4.0 (and people are obviously far from BiS), but its gonna be interesting to see how these "potentional" mean DPS/DTPS values translate into real encounters. Thanks for your effort!
  14. Hey there, the HOT overlay requires few manual steps before a raid as described here: http://ixparse.com/features/#hots-overlay The grid you mention will dissappear once you "Lock overlays" (via the Interface menu or even a hotkey if you set it up in Settings->Overlays), but prior to that yo need to hot the players you want to track, so their names appear on the grid & can be moved around to match their respective frames. Hope that clears things up!
  15. Hey there, all your timers are saved in the "starparse-timers.xml" file located in: c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\StarParse\app\client\app\ For more about StarParse files see http://ixparse.com/help/#files
