  1. What is right in once situation does not equal right in every situation. This is especially true when more than one party of interest are involved. I’m not saying that the devs don’t need to modify their behavior. I’m not saying you can’t criticize what they do. I do believe that their performance would improve if they had a bit more breathing room. (From the player base and their bosses. I believe the player base would be more reasonable than their employers.) Some intellectual property rights can be lost if they’re not used. Some rights are bought and not used so others can’t compete. It is a very real possibility that EA doesn’t care about SWTOR’s performance but maintains the game to hold Star Wars MMO rights. If this is the case they won’t care about the player’s voice as long as they have the rights and other cash cows. I don’t recall EA winning any customer support or satisfaction rewards recently, yet they still make upward trending profits. The only realistic way to change their greedy behavior is to stop playing their games. I don’t think enough people would do that, myself included. I don’t want swtor to die. it’s kinda of the only video game I play. (I think most of the changes players hate have been implemented because of corporate expectation rather then devs expectations) Wether it was or was not a bad business decision will depend on the metrics and the impact that change will have on the long term. Though I believe they can be more successful taking a different route. In simplicity I think peeps are getting mad at the go between instead of the actual offending party. Granted the middle man should be mindful of the impact their words and actions can have on the people keeping their project afloat. (If it’s the situation mentioned above it is not the player base. Hopefully it’s a combination of both though.)
  2. I like the new style of dyes, granted I have purchased any yet.
  3. Expecting people to function at the same level as a person in a different field is unrealistic. Especially because some people pick the jobs they have because of the kind/level of stress they want or can endure. You also have to understand what causes distress for one person does not equal distress for another. (I've worked in residential treatment where therapeutic holds had to be utilized, done missionary work, and have had several other jobs/experiences that reveal the dark and manipulating side of humanity. I know the damage stress can cause and the level of stress required to cause that damage is not the same for every person.) It is my personal believe that the devs are more invested in the success and continuation of this game then most if not all the player base. If things go bad they lose their jobs and lively hoods. If things go bad players go to a different game. Swtor was produced to make money. The people who own the rights or have high investments in this game dictate what metrics the devs need to hit for this game to be run by them. Based on their chaotic behavior I imagine they are not currently hitting the expectation placed on them. It doesn't really matter what the players say if their bosses have conflicting expectations. I don't know what the metrics are. I do believe they can hit them without modify game mechanics, but only if reasonable goals are set, those goals are communicated with the community, and the community is rewarded for helping them hit those goals. The devs have said they would modify their negative behavior/working process. I'm asking the player base to give them a reprieve so they can invest more time an energy into doing that. I don't have anything negative to say about this statement. However as a realist it is important to note that the change made was most likely done to affect their metrics. Therefore the devs most likely have to make a different change before they can set things "right". Unless they tell us what metric they are trying to work on and ask for our help that different change would probably produce a similar result.
  4. So, I’m not gonna lie, based on the actions of the devs for the past few months, they kinda resemble chickens running around with their heads cut off. (not trying to be gruesome but trying to express the sheer chaos of the situation ) With the decision not to have the life day unlock sale, (thank you for changing that) the bumpy server launch, and now this disconnect with the patch notes, a picture of distress has kinda been painted. I imagine the expectation the developers were use to having placed on them changed when they moved to broadsword, and now they are scrambling to hit those expectations. Is this change an excuse for their poor performance, no. If it continues they will be out of the job. However as a player base if you nit pick everything the developer do they won’t want to work on the projects you’re involved with. This means the game will die or there will be a high dev turn over rate, which typically causes issues in the transition phase. If the transition phase never ends… I think you get the picture. At this point i don’t think they can hit those expectations without our help (truthfully that is technically always the case) I have two suggestions 1.) we should stop grilling the devs for non game performance issues. I’m not saying do this forever, but give them time to mentally recover. Stress can negatively impact performance and I’m sure their actions, bosses, and player base is generating more than a healthy amount. 2.) instead of changing game mechanics to manipulate our behavior, create a goal or expectation you can share with us, then reward us for helping you hit It. This could be similar to the “if we get such and such amount of downloads we will give you these” campaigns many mobile apps do. Here’s a suggestion: Create a 60 day subscription bundle but instead of giving cartel coins give a high quality armor set. Set a sales goal you want to hit for that item (in 60 days) then if it’s hit give the community a redeem code for an exclusive item(s) related to that armor (weapons, mount, reusable dye pack etc)
  5. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to have three pets at a time, except when I’m unlocking 3+ new ones
  6. I’ve seen similar comments in a few of the post I’ve read but not the actual dev-splaining. Can some quote the developer remarks on the situation?
  7. I won’t lie, this sub only benefit was one of the main reasons I renewed my subscription. Granted I would have subscribed again near the end of the galactic season to pick up the sub rewards regardless. It could also be argued that people could just set their toons to the class they want before their subscription ends and wouldn’t need to change classes ever again. Those being said, I think it would be beneficial to add the option for peeps to purchase an additional combat styles unlock, but only if it was a per toon unlock priced at around 600 cc with no legacy unlock option. It would also need to be an unlock not sellable on the gtn. This price would incentivize people to subscribe and/or get the security key app at least once so they can purchase the unlock with the monthly cc and/ or gs cc rewards.
  8. Is there and item that gives increased alignment points on completed missions?
  9. So I logged on to my LV 80 sith warrior (on SV) sometime after going free to play, and it had a crap ton of issues. 1. I get the need section x access message every time I log in or enter my ship even though I'm not attempting to get to that area 2. my mission tracker will not track missions and has a timer, galactic map, and the number 0 image/icon under the toggle button. when my cursor is over the timer it says this: Mission reset in NaND NaNm -nan(ind)s 3. The Mission To Kil a Legend won't fully resolve. I complete the cut scene with Malavai Quinn in the hanger (I can currently enter this cut scence over and over again without resetting, even when I watch it to completion.) I received the next set of missions, but Malavai Quin is not add to my list of companions, and the mission doesn't count as complete in the mission window. I'm progressing through the chapter. but not with Malavai Quin lol. I currently have the class missions To kill a legend, Shake Down, and Seek Answers active. 4. Mission icon/indicators won't appear on the galaxy map.. I'm not having these/similar issue on the other toons I have active. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it before the update but that didn't fix the issue. I came back to play after the update but the issues were still there. I'm pretty sure that character file is corrupted and probably needs to be deleted.. On another note, one of my other toons had old story email start popping up as new messages again. this process duplicated the emails.
  10. I have not said you are wanting billions for each transfers. I was using those figures to show how much credits would theoretically be moved with a low and high credit limit. Your right, I took your word for it. Guess it isn't worth much. Should I disregard this to? it's actually your numbers: I agree grinding hundreds or thousands of heroics is not fun. That's why I want a credit limit to prevent inflation that generates products that would required 15 million credits to make or buy. (600 heroic would generate about 15 million if the only credits calculated were the reward amount given to lv 80 toons. if you factor in loot and the credit/gear crate it would be more then 15 million, though don't know how much more)
  11. I'm not saying gearing is not expensive. I'm saying you have already done it (it appears you have done it on multiple servers) and the Raiders complaining have already done it as well. Therefore getting credits in the name of doing something you don't need to do anymore is Frivolous and negatively impacts the players who have not yet done it. (this gear can be moved. some of yours is already on sv based on your pervious comment) As you stated it cost around 500 million on an inflated server vs 15 million on SV to get the purple gear. In order for a new APAC player to get 500 million credits on an inflated server they would have to complete 20,000 heroics vs 600 for 15 million (25.000ish credits from completing a heroic with a lv 80 toon). Credits only exist because they are farmed. Asking for 15 million credits to be moved produces the same amount of inflation that farming 600 heroics would. This task you hate spending so much time and credits on will be more difficult for a new players (once again some of those new player can be APAC players) then for you on US servers, and will shortly become more difficult for them then it was for you on SV when transfers are allowed. Lets say the credit limit for transfer is 15 million and you get 6 free transfer (unlikely) 15 million x 6 is 90 million. if 100 people what to use all 6 transfers and will hit the limit for each transfer that generates 9,000,000,000 credits or 360,000 heroics (If it takes 5 min to complete a heroic it would be 30,000 hours or 1,250 days of play time that's 3.4 years) Now if we allow full transfer with its 4 billion (its actually around 4,294,817,295 but I don't want to use that number) and say 100 people want to transfer 1 toon and will hit the limit that would generates 400 billion credits or 16,000,000 heroics (if it takes 5 min to complete a heroic it would be about 1,333,333 hours or 5555.54 days of play time that's 15.22 years) I have stated several times a raider will spend more credits on repairs then non raiding players. Creating inflation is not the correct way to address this problem.
  12. If full transfer are allowed I would still play on SV over SS (SS was the server I played on before SV) this is because of the names I was able to acquire and I like shae vizla more than satele shan (if I liked Darth Malgus more I would be playing there). I'm not threating to leave or unsub if a credit limits are or are not implemented. (I would actually transfer billions of credits over myself.) I have not stated I want SV moved to the US, and I want my legacy and Achievements. Look at my post and you will see that I have not been asking for anything more then limited credit. No they should worry about how much people are spending on the game, and how to increase this. Allowing transfers with a credit limit would most likely have the most benefits for the game. New APAC players won't be crushed by inflation, and Old APAC players will get their achievements and gear (some of which can not be obtained any more) Will raider be hurt sure, is maximum credits required to fix this na. BS could modify the repair sink (I would recommend) Offer free repair tokens.
  13. I meant to say Game braking means it can not function. Not "Game braking implies they can not function." I once again agree they should do something about repair cost. I don't think allowing more credits over is the solution. I don't think changing the cost is a good idea either. Though I would prefer lower repair cost over higher credit limit.
  14. Then why is SV not dead? I'm pretty confident the average player will be fine with credit limits.
