  1. Very much in favor of a PVE grouping system. They already have a system for PvP, why not for PvE too? So long as it's server based I don't see any issue with it. All the people that claim to NOT care about gear and progression can still hold their local server population accountable for... whatever they feel like policing that day. Perhaps they can earn a SWTOR hall monitor badge and really pretend like they're enforcing some ideal rules they came up with. The best part about it is that the system is optional. You can still spend half an hour scouring /who screens, wispers, general and trade chat on:fleet, other planets, Instant messager, e-mail, phone text, smoke signals, wall carvings, the telegraph, school room check yes or no lists, carrier pigeon, sign language, etc, etc... Personally I like the idea of a PvE queue.
  2. you can continue on the path of acrid discourse if you like, but the fact is you misunderstood and took a militant stance.
  3. fixed that for you. And just because that is your history with games doesn't mean it fits into the context of 'gamer' that my post implied. generalize me, baby.
  4. I said that it wasn't, and that the fact that its not a 'hardcore' game is fine. The point of my post was that people shouldn't have to justify why they enjoy the game, so long as they were. Jesus. ppl on this forum can spin doctor like champs.
  5. This isn't a hardcore game. sorry. Looks like you also over generalized.
  6. 'Stop picking on my daddy! (bioware). If you say too many mean things about this game then I can't live out my fantasy on a daily basis! They'll take it away! You know how long it'll be before I can dress up in costume to see a Star Wars movie in the theatre?!? I mean the light sabers in this game are the most realistic ones I own!' To be fair people have the right to enjoy this game as that kind of fantasy. Is this game a 'gamers' MMO? No, not yet at least. Is this game a product that a wide range of people can enjoy? yes. Let people have their fun. But I agree Faytte. I was hoping it would be a little...more.
  7. Well that does it. I'm rerolling Empire. They have the Stig...er stormtroopers and they have access to better cars.... er speeders. Disclaimer Yes i know the stig is not a stormtrooper and that stormtroopers don't exist yet in this time frame. I'm also aware that the empire has the same speeders as the republic. Sad when I feel the need to put a disclaimer on something that is intended to be mildly funny. Also it is rather unfortunate that the disclaimer is longer than the intended humorous statement. Yay for the hostile forums.
  8. Forced labor to level characters and sell the accounts. say ni hao to the ppl nabbing your quest items/objectives.
  9. I wound up level 42 on Voss and pretty much stalled out. I decided to push through my class quests on that planet as they were lower level than the generic quests. I got to a point in the class quest chain that I was faced with a level 47 elite. I could hardly hit that enemy much less kill him. The 'encounter' apparently has a soft enrage timer as it continued to reset after a certain time had elapsed. I've been trying to do flashpoints to make up the difference in XP but it is a painfully slow process. I haven't had much luck finding a group in a few days.
  10. Some of my favs are when I respond to the Jedi counsel with a 'dark' response, then they reply with something along the lines of "derp thats the path to the dark side, but continue on your mission anyway". They contine to do that all the way to the end. Why don't they ever get concerned about one of their Jedi knights spewing out sith rhetoric? Can't be bothered. We don't care if you fall to the darkside. We know you can't change the story anyway so....
  11. Space monk or Batman... choose your path. I'm happy I can use modable armor that doesn't force me into one of those looks.
  12. I hate the forced FOV ( field of view ) change once you activate the speeder. It's supposed to give a feeling of the world moving by faster, but since I can't disable the forced FOV it seems more like a cheap trick.
  13. I love the concept of upgradable gear as I level. Does it mean all green/blue gear including crafted gear is useless? not exactly imo. I have at any given time at the very least one additional character sheet I have to fill out with gear. My companion. Usually I only have enough commendations / luck on the AH to replenish my orange gear with upgrades every couple levels. So I use item drops, quest rewards, and crafted gear from the AH to keep my companion up to speed. Also I don't like the look of the jedi/sith robes. I can get away with upgrading something that doesn't make me look like a space monk or Batman. TL;DR: Love it.
  14. I think a lot of people are forgetting how well this game launched. It actually worked right out the gate. Most of the game functioned well enough to play, and enjoy the time spent. With that being said*cough* The game needed a few more months of polish. I don't know how many months, but it certainly needed more time in the womb. Some things just don't make sense. You mention the need for an LFD queue. Well pvp has a queue, it's server based so you play with your local community - why is there no pve/flashpoint queue to do the same thing? That seems like a basic feature that should have made it into the launch. The achievements I can live without personally. I don't think people need to be rewarded for every little thing they do in the game. It just enables rabid insecurity 'imo'. But also it shouldn't be up to me if an achievement system is put in place or not. If enough of the player base is expecting it then the developers have to acknowledge that. Even if its an option that people choose to enable or not. Bottom line - I agree that the game needs more features commonly found in today's MMOs. But we also can't forget that this game on the whole is quite good and is due the accolades it receives. With time more 'features' will come. The question is will it be too late? Me? i'm in for another month, but honestly the luster has worn off. I'm starting to focus more on game mechanics ( less on story ) - and I hope they can hammer out the wrinkles.
  15. With zone sharding and even fewer people in the game you're one step closer to that single player game. Grats.
