  1. DPS getting into a group assigned as tank or healer has been an issue since launch 10 years ago. Mostly it's because people don't pay attention. That and perhaps a little buggy when to get a new selection as a single role or multiple roles you need to change instances, go to SH, change planets, etc. to get the change to take. It's a PITA, but after 10 years we've learned to deal with it. And frankly, is one of the reasons we as a community have wanted loadouts.
  2. Found this video a few days ago. Really think BW should take a hard look at this video. I need at least 2 hands to count "quit moments" identified in the video that apply to SWTOR.
  3. From 7.0.1 Patchnotes This makes loadouts useless. This is NOT what we want. This is NOT what we need. If BW was going to do this to the FP and Ops playing community, why the F did you introduce Loadouts in the first place? I thought the whole point of having loadouts was to make changing specs and gear quick and easy, which ... well, it does. The whole point of being able to quickly change specs and gear was to allow for changing group makeup on the fly. Seriously, I did 90% of my spec and gear changing inside FPs and Ops prior to 7.0, now I can't. Another reason to have and use loadouts is to quickly change between single target and multi target builds. With the new combat styles, having this is even more important due to the limitations imparted to us by the handicapping skill trees. (That's a whole other topic for a different thread). It is not uncommon in flashpoints for a group member to drop, if said member is the tank or healer, it is beneficial to have one of the DPS to switch (mid instance) to the now missing role and find a DPS replacement. This is faster than trying to find another tank or heals. This has never happened: using GF for a veteran FP and there are 2 tanks, or 2 heals or worse 2 tank + 2 heals. Another situation I often find myself in is a Veteran FP with 4 DPS. We get to the first boss and wipe! I will respec to tank and am then able to take some hits and the group is able to proceed. Under these new rules the group is lost and has to disband possibly with GF lockout timers. I've said it before, but it seems to bear repeating, not ALL operations boss fights require 2 tank. Take EV for example, it is easily and often done with just one tank. Or take Temple of Sacrifice; Malaphar: 1 tank SM / 2 tanks HM Swoard Squadron: 1-2 tanks SM / 2 tanks HM The Underlurker: 1 tank SM / HM Revanite Commanders: 1 tank SM / 1-2 tanks HM Revan the Returned: 1 tank SM / 2 tanks HM Something simpler, Karagga's Palace Bonethrasher: 0-1 tank SM / HM Jarg & Sarno: 1-2 tanks SM / HM Foreman Crusher: 1 tank SM / 1-2 tanks HM G4-B3: 1 tank SM / 1-2 tanks HM Karagga: 1 tank SM / HM The ONLY place I can remotely see a need for such a restriction is for PvP. I don't do much PvP, but when I have, I've never seen folks trying to respsec mid battle. For folks that want to just queue and play a single role, they already of that option and they do that. I like to DPS on an operative, but not heal so when I queue for stuff I be sure to select DPS only. For my toons that can tank, I keep tank and DPS gear on them just so I can respec. Bottom line is this restriction is pointless, and completely unnecessary. Whomever came up with this restriction is an id10t.
  4. Was editing my UIs today trying to find a happy compromise of global scale to make things like the Guild Window and Character window when I noticed there are 2 Conversation Portraits windows. Both are individually editable (Scale, Alpha, and Enabled). Is this an error/bug? What is the difference? Is one for group conversations, another for operations?
  5. Lacking a Loadout gear tab in inventory tab, place your loadout gear in your cargo hold. Changing Loadouts with cargo hold open will switch with gear in your cargo hold. Buying the portable cargo hold and the upgrades is worth the credits.
  6. Agreed, this is stupid behavior. When qued for FPs it is possible to be dps/tank or dps/heals. If you get in and are designated the opposite of your current spec you and the group are screwed. Same goes when queing for ops. Also in Ops, not all boss fights require 2 tanks. It is beneficial to have one tank respec to dps.
  7. Having to agree with all the responses here. Would like to add my 2 cents worth still. For the last 6 months of 2021 and leading up to 7.0 we kept hearing "play it your way" with "More choices". 7.0 has been anything BUT "play your way" with "more "choices". From the new skill trees to limited choice of Flashpoints and planetary heroics and operations in the weeklies, 7.0 has bee more "play BW's way" and "play what BW wants you to play. 7.0 has made SWTOR and BW the laughing stock of the MMORPG world.
  8. Just what "content" are you doing? I use it ALL the time, from running around doing heroics where you can't mount and not to mention Flashpoints where EVERYONE is in a dam rush to get through, you need it to keep up/ahead of the dps. And God forbid you need 5 secs to switch it out for Saber Reflect at a boss. The group be like, hurry the F up! No, choosing between Mad Dash and Saber Reflect is STUPID!!! As Immortal they are both needed and shouldn't be a choice at all. Flat give us both.
  9. FYI, you CAN keep extra gear sets in your Cargo Hold. To swap gear, open your cargo hold and hit the new Loadout. Viola!! No need to remove it from the cargo hold. I have had luck with pieces being replaced in the cargo hold with like. I've not had any issue with switching gear with it in my main inventory, but then I do NOT sort my main inventory at all. Would be nice if you didn't have to have your cargo hold open to make the swap, but w/e. Have tried, and does NOT work with Legacy Cargo.
  10. That would be nice, just having new 312+ armor, mods and enhancement would be great and allow players to start focusing on their stats. But, taking into account that some exec had a stick up his ***** to get something out for the 10th anniversary, I'm not surprised at what we got.
  11. You must be new because pre-6.0 augmenting was easy and cheap. Then came 6.0 and the crafting levels and changes that came with it. To say BW screwed the pooch with 6.0 crafting is putting it mildly. What's worse is in 6.0 PTS, the community at large warned BW for months of how bad it would be, but did they listen, NO! Instead they double down and we end up with the Grade 11 garbage we have now. Fortunately, the is hope here as BW has promised another level of crafting for 7.0 that they did not have time to get into the game, yet. With luck and feedback from the community, the upcoming crafting changes will be more like the pre-6.0 system.
  12. Another option is to buy the fleet apartments using season tokens. Still see fleet chat without having to hear general announcements.
  13. You do know there is an options in the Sound Preferences to lower the volume of "voices" right?
  14. >Training Not having to go to a trainer is a so-so option for me, having to go to a trainer at least brought attention to the fact you had gained an ability rather than it just showing up on a bar (plus with the availability of portable trainers Senya and the Hutt, you don't have to go to fleet or elsewhere to train). This not having to go to a trainer was the next logical step in training after they removed the cost of training back in .... a long time ago ... BW made mention that in-game inflation has gotten out of control and done some things to try and fight it. One small way to fight inflation would have been to introduce cost for training back into the game. IRL you want to learn a valuable skill, you pay someone to teach you, not even YouTube is completely free with ads and paying for internet services. >Social Points If you're not Social 10 within a year, you're doing something wrong. Do more flashpoints and operations. For BW to remove social points is enh for me. They did provide access to special outfits and toys, but yeah, did little else in the game. For what is being saved, waste of time to have removed them. >Augmentation Kits They are still a thing. Just because BW got in a rush to get something out, new crafting and other things got left on the floor until later. I do hope BW has learned a lesson from the disaster of 6.0 crafting. The cost of crafting in 6.0 compared to pre-6.0 was ridiculously expensive. And contributed greatly to the inflation in the game. Go through the old PTS comments for 6.0 and you will see the community warning of this for months ahead of 6.0, but BW did not listen. >Inventory View Yes it needs a lot of work and a toning down of the bright colors. One nice feature to see, especially on the inventory window is the ability to adjust width and height, similar to adjusting the size of any non-full-screen app.
  15. Need to separate loadouts for gear and abilities. Especially when going through the gearing up process. Either that or revamp the ability trees to actually be smart and useful instead of the absolute garbage that they are making us choose 1 of 2 or 3 very useful abilities that get used in a single encounter. As a Jugg/Guardian tank, I am constantly switching between using Mad Dash and Saber Reflect in flashpoints and ops (assuming I have time to switch or even remember to switch). Mad Dash for trash between bosses, Reflect for bosses. With the constant and frequent upgrades we get, making sure the best gear is equipped for both loadouts is a PITA! And mistakes will happen. Having a single loadout and changing between Mad Dash and Reflect means also constantly moving the ability on my quickbar to the desired location.
