  1. Um, I can read the entire post from start to finish without the Urban Dictionary. Did Twitchy put you through rehab or something? Anywayz, this guild needs a little culture so I dug up a classic work of modern poetry to set the mood. My name is Haleigh Comette, and I approve this message.
  2. They wouldn't be less stale, they'd be seamless with world PVP and scrub free. We could run around and world PVP in an 8-man ops and queue when it got slow, load in, load out (still in a group), and get back to looking for imps to kill. Right now, it takes a full time secretary to manage a group queueing for warzones, and you get crammed in with players who just wanna farm medals or whatever. Warzones are more fun when you have options, when they are the only option they kinda suck. And we had tons of fun PVPing on Tat for a few weeks, then the plague ended and we started warzoning again. Suddenly we're seeing level 80+ valor players we haven't even seen before in wzs lol. And they just wanna spend their time farming medals, they are perfectly happy losing, because all the competitive Rep PVPers didn't have time to warzone between defending our turf in the black hole and tatooine. So my friends don't wanna deal with fellow Reps talking about how fighting imps is impossible in every warzone. It's often a full-time legal argument from start to finish. We don't mind PVPing with sucky players on our side, sucky attitudes ruin it for us. If they just gave us the chance to choose 8 players, we wouldn't even have to. Because noone would sit there QQing in a warzone if we had the option to find 8 like minded players and group up without them.
  3. Just Give PVPers something to do. I'm here to PVP. I'll stay until the last of my friends leave, and that day is coming, try as I might to stop it. I don't care about shinies and trinkets. I know how to have a good time, I play on a server with a lot of my SWG allies and adversaries and we chase each other around and PVP and it's always fun. As long as we have something to do besides run prepackaged PVE instances we'd all play this game. Thing is, they nerfed Ilum because of the whining about lag. Hey, that was something to do. They said they would replace it with ranked wzs. They haven't yet. It was OK, at least we had Tatooine during the Rakhgoul plague. We had an ops down there fighting imps around the clock, helping the outnumbered Republic PVEers get their quests done and make it to the vendor alive to cash in. It was fun for everyone. My friends are leaving, I can't keep them here with loot or PVE. They're thrill-seeking PVPers. Gaming is a competitive sport to them, not a grind. Just look at this forum. People here keep posting "I dont care about PVP". And that's fine, but where did the PVPers go? It's a very different forum community than we had a month ago. People didn't change their mind about PVP, Bioware caved in to whiners and most of the PVPers left with nothing to do. In hindsight, I hope Bioware realizes that emptying out Ilum because whiners were screaming "TOO MUCH LAG" was a very bad approach. Nerfing whole playstyles to reduce lag by reducing the playerbase is not a fix.
  4. There is a very good explanation for what happened. Watch , and pay very careful attention to the diagram.
  5. Nice try OP. Jesus will not be unlockable as a companion until 1.3.
  6. Is it possible we're looking at yet another 'bugged scoreboard'? Because it shows the score as 565 to 565. One of the guys on their team has no dmg, no healing, no protection, no deaths, no kills, no medals but 1200 objective points. Sorry, I thought it was obvious from the screenshot what happened, but I'll explain in case anyone is confused and really needs to know the details of how we earned the win. Anywayz, the point is, none of us loaded in and saw we had only four, then stopped to complain about our situation, or talk about whether we should try at all. We each did what we needed to do to have a chance to win with four anyways, and with that effort and a bit of luck, we got a fast win in 120 seconds. (Can't win that fast in a 8 vs 8 match.)
  7. We won an Alderaan Civil War tonight with only 4. Gojira: One go left, one go right, one go mid and the other run around in circles! Brillant plan. Screenshot
  8. If me leaving caused a breakdown in PVP then I'd say I did something right when I was there. I keep hearing this line "you leaving killed PVP", which is funny because I left after a three week period of no imps to be found ... anywhere. (except on the forums) Nice to see someone got something going tho AMSKED, it's honestly the first I've heard about it. But I make no apologies for being proud as my faction, it's not a "card", it's just team spirit sheesh. I wasn't at all proud pre 1.1. But when the Reps pulled together to fight against 5:1 odds and even the score we earned something to be proud of. I don't RP here, not that it is a bad thing but it doesn't really work in this game. I find it funny all the people getting so worked up over the fact I'm proud of my faction lol. "OMG you must be one of those ARR PEEERZ" or whatever. So I gotta know. Do you get really steamed when you hear someone is proud of the football team they watch from the couch? I mean, Is Billy Bob an RPer when he looks over his stomach and yells "ROLL TIDE!" at the TV while yelling at his wife to bring him another beer and a bag of chips? I actually compete in my favorite "sport". And I like my favorite team, nothing more to it than that
  9. Adding an opt out wasn't even my idea, it was offered by one of the people in this thread who posted something constructive. Here: And I agree completely with Monoth, it's a great idea, and it seems like it would be an easy thing to do, considering all the expansive content they are adding.
  10. o rly? I think the success we had building some awesome faction base PVP in Sunrunner speaks for itself (video link). And I wasn't even a roleplayer, though I did try to bring roleplayers in to PVP. I don't even have a clue who you are, but you seem to know who I am so I imagine I did something right.
  11. If I just wanted to destroy it ... I wouldn't make the post so Bioware has a chance to fix it. This was on the Test forums btw, and it got moved to the regular PVP forums. I am kinda surprised, in AoC you could post constructive stuff on the testlive boards and there were lots of mature players all trying to come up with solutions. I helped fix around 30 bugs that way, they still invite me to closed beta test new Funcom games. Funcom didn't ever arbitrarily move potentially constructive threads to the three-ring circus of the PVP boards.
  12. My guild is the same way, but we're kinda hardcore. We don't even run raids and what not, all we do is PVP. We're "seasoned" PVPers, have been through SWG and AoC before this. Different story for Rep guilds at large. In this game especially among the games I have played, there are a a lotta green PVPers. I like fighting imps and getting them mad, it happens a lot lol. I don't wanna go there with Reps. I spend a lotta time ushering newer Rep PVPers into Ilum and making them feel like part of a team. I don't want the first thing they see from me when they hit 50 to be the wrong end of an Assault Cannon.
  13. Not as much as you! My issue as posted is really simple, and an easy fix.
  14. Exactly! That's why I posted this, so Bioware has a chance to come up with a solution, or an opt-out toggle before it goes live.
  15. I used to play volleyball. In practice, I played against my friends. In games we played against other schools. Noone turned out to watch the practices. The games were full of maniacal screaming middle aged parents. Crowd pleasers come against real opponents. That being said, if we were playing paintball, I wouldn't want to play against my friends, that stuff hurts! And it gets stuck in my hair for like a week. I'm OK with playing huttball/volleyball against my own team for practice, /yawn. But with full contact voidstar/paintball I just wouldn't enjoy pulling the trigger, and I know my friends wouldn't either.
