  1. I think you missed the word "and" since the person your quoted did not talk about invisible snipers. But on topic: Every single class I play is underpowered for sure, I wonder why...
  2. I completely agree with you, even though I am as much the "victim" of your justified ridicule as many others.
  3. It's quite simple really. With the introduction of the cross server LFG system in WoW the general attitude of the servers got as bad as on the forums in a heartbeat. You can call it a loss of community feel, but it mainly comes down to a lesser chance to encounter civil interactions amongst strangers. Pure speculation with no basis in facts Personal experience is not speculation. I have seen it happen. I always played on RP servers so perhaps the attitude on other servers were already downright disgusting in WoW and the cross server LFG just made those of us playing on RP servers more in contact with the braindead monkeys that live to annoy others. I should probably try out a non-RP server to test it out. Perhaps they are already devouring the bananas on those servers and therefor know the cross server LFG won't change their community for the worse. You can't make a turd smell any worse by adding more turds to it. You choosing to call names and insult the other players makes me think maybe your the problem I'm sorry I can't be civil about people going out of their way to annoy others. Yes it is my problem that I am disgusted with people like that. I prefer not to encounter them often and cross server LFG ensures it. The attitude on RP servers (the only type I can speak of with experience) is good now. Sure you meet a ninja here and there, some trolls and such, but they are the exception to the rule. It was the same on the two servers I played on in WoW (Argent Dawn, alliance side and Earthen Ring, horde side). The general attitude on those server was good (outside of the trade channel ofc), not so much after a few months of cross server LFG anymore though. Once again pure speculation i played on a couple of rp servers in wow and did not see what you describe Again, not speculation, but personal experience. Cross server LFG turns those you group with into faceless NPC's who will mean less to you than the ship droids do now. In the beginning of this system in WoW I talked to my teammates, rarely got any reaction from them and after a while I gave up and became just another faceless ghoul going through the motions. I got tired of that quickly. Completely wrong. They are people they only become npc like if you treat them as NPC's. Once again this shows that your attitude may be t he problem here since you can turn people into npc's. Personally i prefer players in my group that do not chat a lot. Just when certain things need to be covered. No i do not care how your dog feels today. That does not mean i think of these players as NPC's. i think of them as a temp team i am on that is focused on completing the goal of finishing the zone. maybe yahoo chat would be better for you than trying to turn a instant run into your personal chat room. When I team up with people that do not utter a single word from start to finish they may as well be NPC's. No it does not mean I will treat them like that, it is how they act. I am not talking about chats about someone's dog, I am talking about ingame things, about the run itself. You seem to look at your teammates as a means to an end (yes this is speculation on my part and I may be wrong). I look at teaming up as a scoial event, something to do when I do not wish to solo. If I team up with people that speak less than my companions, I might as well be given a team of NPC's to do the run with. Does cross server LFG make it easier to get groups? No doubt about it. Is it worth it? To a lot it seems so, to me it will be a good reason to give up on this game. A shame really, since it's a great game and the community on the RP servers is excellent now. Gald you see you admit it makes the game better! Easier does not automaticly mean better, in this case I call it worse. Too bad the "I want it all and I want it now!" part of the mmo community is getting bigger and bigger...or they just shout louder, not sure. All i can think of here is a star trek line! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! I fear this is the only comment you made I agree on. It will happen and I will be annoyed and leave because of it when it does. I am not in the position to resist in any other way than with my wallet. edit: I know there is a big problem on lower populated servers, I just prefer they solve that with other means. Mergers if needed for example. extra edit: Come to think of it you are right about one other thing: The namecalling I did was wrong, no doubt about it. Shame on me for that.

  5. The way the social point system has been implemented makes it feel like a placeholder until they can finish it. Also I believe the points are a bit bugged at endgame, not sure if they have fixed that yet since I play too many alts to see endgame for a while yet. It feels awkward as it is implemented right now since almost no social activities result in getting points, only talking to npc's while grouped does.
  6. Yeah, it's the small things that make all the difference. To use the example most used and look at WoW for a sec. That game for the most part has the exact same problem so I won't be saying that WoW did it so much better, but when I look at the npc's not moving around I miss the little boy and girl chasing eachother in Stormwind. The game needs stuff like that. There is some of it in the game now, but it needs a lot more. Still calling it the best MMO on the market atm for me though. Just hoping they will add more life to the worlds.
  7. I probably have overdone it a bit since early release since the last week I have been alt-hopping more than really enjoying myself. Started noticing things more than before, like npc's always standing at the exact same spot, never moving an inch. The game looks great, stylised but great, however the worlds lack life. Why is every person, beast, etc not moving around? Are they so bored with life they stopped moving? It didn't annoy me until the last week. I tried pvp a bit, but I have to be honest and admit that pvp just ain't my thing. I hate it when my character dies, I am a pve-er at heart so am so used to the fact that my character only dies when I mess up. In pvp you die a lot, a whole lot. It's the nature of the game, just not for me. So decided to stop which resulted in an increase in fun again. It's like having a brand new car you just bought, you love it and then notice a small scratch on it and instead of enjoying the ride you start getting more and more annoyed with the scratch until it's all you see. The car is still great, my enjoyment not so much. I'm hoping to get the fun with TOR back soon since I know that the main reasons I am not enjoying myself as much this last week or so have little to do with the game itself and a lot with the fact that I overdid it a bit. The fun will return... I hope.
  8. Of course you have a right to speak your mind about it, just remember the only effect is that you feel a little better because you have vent your frustration. I don't blame you, go ahead, but don't expect to see any results from it because this is already outside of peak hours (usually). They have to set it at one time or another an no matter which hours they pick there will always be people in the same situation as you are now.
  9. As a Dutchman that didn't and doesn't want a united european communist state either...I agree. Yes I have some free time now, yes the servers are down and no I can't play because of it, but so what? There's more to life than one single game and these maintenance periods ultimately result in a better functioning game. It's both getting tiresome and funny at the same time how our fellow "Europeans" (man how I hate that classification these days thanks to the EU) keep throwing fits every single time there is a maintenance going on...
  10. To those saying armor is only a problem for tanks I'd like to ask one thing: Did you heal in the early days of World of Warcraft in raids? The way for dps warriors to get the best dps possible was to use leather instead of plate. They kept saying the same thing as you guys do: "The tank gets hit, I don't so what's the big deal?" I did have to heal them and I ended up letting them die in the end and many other healers did the same. I never met a healer that agreed with those warriors. Some didn't mind, but none agreed. There was one huge difference between those warriors and the healers; the warriors ignored their own healthbar, the healers did not. The dps warriors did not notice the amount of extra healing they required for some extra dps. They were generally hated by most healers and rightfully so. The reason it was extra hated was because preserving mana was a big issue back then for healers. Combat in Star Wars: The Old Republic is set up in such a way that non-tanks get hit far more than during those days in World of Warcraft. So the noticable difference for the healers is also much bigger. Using social gear as it is now as a non-light armor wearing class is forcing healers to work harder. It's selfish and should not be done. In fact it should not be needed at all. We don't need medium and heavy social armor if you ask me, I prefer that the armor mods scale based on the class wearing the armor. So the same social item with the same armor mod would give more armor to a jedi guardian than to a Jedi Sage.
  11. I wouldn't want instant travel, I want immersion, but this is not immersion, it is annoyance.
  12. I often tend to defend the game against unwaranted complaints, but this one is not unwarranted in my opinion. In fact I agree completely that it does not add to the game, it only adds to the annoyance and I hope they will change it soon. Enter ship on planet A, run to cockpit, select destination on galaxy map, exit on planet B. More than this should not happen and if more is required for some reason then please make it a cutscene showing the ship fly to the other planet instead of the annoying orbital stations.
  13. "bunch" is just another word for "group", I think you are mistaking it with "unlucky few" which I did not write because the group seems too big to call it a "few". Is the engine badly coded? I do believe it is, I believe it still needs a whole lot of work to make it run perfectly for almost everyone that has a system above the requirements. I have no framerate problems, but with AA enabled my GPU gets much hotter than it should and I encountered some other graphical issues. Just my fps is not a problem. Now for your a vs b argument: No game runs superb for everyone, that is impossible so option a will never happen. With option b you claim that everyone that claims they have the game running smoothly are casuals that have never used the ctrl+shift+f combo to check how their framerate is. A rather silly remark to be honest. Just because a bunch of people (again I am not saying how big or small that group is) are having low framerates does not mean everyone has those problems. And then your last remark again claiming that only the uninformed are not having problems because they have no idea what framerates are. Please just stop trolling. The framerate issues are real and they need to be fixed, but the way you are talking about it is just complete and total nonsense. *sighs* Ah heck, I've gotten myself lured into the troll trap. You won simply because you got me to react. *Breaks open the trap and walks away.*
