  2. Hey folks, I am back to talk about the Conquest changes we are planning for 7.4.1c (stay tuned for a post in the next few days with more details on timing for this patch). Thank you again for the feedback since the original change in 7.4.1. It gave us a lot to chew on internally around our change, our goals for Conquests, and the friction that came out in the feedback you were passing on. Reminder of what changed and why. In 7.4.1 we reduced the amount of Conquest points earned for the “Advancement: Reputation” objective by a fairly substantial amount. The reason we did this was to reduce the need for more reputation tracks in Galactic Seasons and bring it in parity with other objectives given the relatively low effort required. Since you could (assuming you had rep tokens on hand) simply log in and right click a token for thousands of points. Now, coming off of that change we definitely heard some places where this had some knock on consequences that we wanted to take into account: Low Session Time Options - Whether this is for someone with a lot of alts or just someone on their main who wanted to dip in for a quick session, that Objective did allow a path for someone to be able to get points during short sessions. Supplemental Conquest Points - This runs a little parallel to the first point, but having so many points from the rep objective allowed for someone to be able to get their conquests completed generally by playing a variety of content and supplementing it by gaining rep/using rep tokens (aka quick, repeatable method of getting conquest points) Capable Across Alts - Again there is a venn diagram with the above 2 points, but, the rep objective was something that was powerful because someone with many alts could simply login (low session time) to bounce across alts as needed throughout the week to complete conquests. One quick aside on this point before we get to the Conquest change. While we were discussing your feedback we noted one point specifically about Daily Areas and alts. Many Daily Areas required a specific amount of crit path progression before you could access them and so this was a friction point for each alt, especially if you have many of them. We are changing this in 7.4.1c so that the requirement to access Daily Areas is now relevant crit path Achievement (instead of crit path completion on the character), meaning they will now effectively unlock across your Legacy instead of character by character. You are of course still free to unlock them naturally on each character via story completion if you wish, this just gives another path to unlocking them. Ok, so understanding the feedback we heard and some of the problems we wanted to focus in on for 7.4.1c here are the two changes we currently have planned: The infinitely repeatable “Complete a Heroic Mission” Conquest Objective is now available at all levels (previously only available from 10-49) The “Complete a Heroic Mission” Conquest Objective is now worth 2000 Conquest points (up from 1650). This is 5000 points for those of you with max Stronghold Bonuses Previously the infinitely repeatable Heroic Conquest objective was not available to anyone above level 49, so these changes should add another inflow of points to players completing those Heroics now. And we also increased the points players earned from that Objective at the same time to supplement it even further. Heroic Missions are some of our fastest PvE content in the game. They have the added benefits of being soloable, alt friendly, and can be completed while playing other content such as Daily Areas. We felt targeting Heroics allowed us to address the problems raised from the 7.4.1 change while still requiring a bit more direct engagement. All of that said, Conquests is definitely a place we are continuing to pay close attention to and plan to make more changes in the future so keep the feedback coming. Thanks all. -eric

  4. Hello everyone! We are happy to see the players who were unable to get past the loading screen now able to log into the game. As stated before, we are working on compensating impacted players regarding lost time, so please keep an eye on this thread for updates later this week.
  5. Heya players! I wanted to jump in to let you all know that I did some testing on the Geonosian Handler License and can confirm that the license is still dropping from the Mutated Geonosian Queen. I saw mention of the Wings of Nihrot, the Geonosian Handler License has the same chance to drop as the Wings of Nihrot. Thank you for calling out other potential drops that might be bugged (Illumination Probe Crate decoration from Blood Hunt and the Manned Blaster Turret decoration from Collicoid Games), we will keep an eye on these as well. Good luck hunting, and Justice For Lysslo!!!

  8. We will be taking down all servers in 15 minutes to deploy Game Update 7.4.1b. Estimated downtime: 3 hours.
  9. Hi again, 7.4.1b Patch Notes are now available. Thanks!
  10. Hey folks, Following up on my post from last week around our Conquest/Rep changes in 7.4.1 I wanted to set the stage. As you know 7.4.1b is coming tomorrow but before you open the patch notes you will not see any changes yet around Conquests. We are still actively discussing all of the feedback you have been sending our way but I do want to confirm you should expect to see changes in 7.4.1c I just don't have them confirmed yet. I will come back and post them in this thread as soon as I do. Thanks all. -eric
  11. Hi everyone, Game Update 7.4.1b will be deploying tomorrow, March 21! Details below: Time: 7am CT / 12pm UTC Estimated down time: 3 hours We're working on getting patch notes published here. They will be going up by end of day. Thanks!
  12. Hi all, Please keep an eye on the dev tracker for this issue. Updates concerning this fix can be found here. Thanks!
  13. Hello, if you've already picked up the Alliance Alert for the Date Night Missions, the repeatable missions can be found in a datapad on your ship in the personal quarters section.
  14. Hi everyone, Wanted to share this update with you all as quickly as possible. Game Update 7.4.1b will be pushed, however, we still anticipate deploying the update this week. As soon as we have more details we can share, we will be updating this thread with all the relevant info. This update will include various fixes including: Fitted Armors and Weapons for World Drops and Ancient Armaments are now Bind to Legacy on Equip and have a Vendor Value of 100 credits to allow sale on the GTN and Vendors. Reduced the drop rates of new items in the "Grade 11 Treasure Hunting Lockbox" significantly to better align with previous drop rates. Fixed an issue preventing server transfer for some characters with previously opened lootboxes. Of course, please refer back to my previous post about what to expect with the fix going in for the issue where some players are unable to get past the key art loading screen. Keep an eye on this thread for further details on 7.4.1b. Thanks!
  15. Hi everyone, Following up on the issues some players are having with being unable to get past the key art loading screen. Appreciate everyone who sent in a DxDiag file as requested. The team believes that a fix has been identified, and will be included in 7.4.1b which we are expecting to be deployed this week. There are a few important notes that we want to be very clear about: The team believes that a fix has been identified, however, we have not been able to 100% reproduce this issue. Should this fix not work when 7.4.1b goes live, we will again work with impacted players to identify what the root cause could be. In the event that impacted players are able to log into the game when 7.4.1b goes live, we will work on compensating said players for lost game time. We are currently targeting March 20th to roll out 7.4.1b. When I have more information, I will update this thread. Thanks all EDIT: See post later in thread. We are still targeting 7.4.1b to go out this week, but it will not be March 20th.
  16. Hi everyone, I know we’re coming up on the weekend, so I wanted to update this thread with what’s happening regarding this issue. First, thanks to everyone who is supplying info for us and answering the questions the team has. It’s helpful in their investigation into this issue. Second, a fix has not been determined as of now, however, please know that this is a priority for the team. Third, the team has requested that DxDiag files be sent to communitysupport@swtor.com. Please only send in files if you are impacted by the issue of not being able to get past the loading screen. And be sure to include your account name! If the team needs additional info, I will update this thread again. Lastly, we understand that the players impacted by this problem have not been able to get into the game since 7.4.1 went out, and we are working on plans to compensate those players. This will be executed after a fix has been made and deployed. Thanks for your patience everyone! Note: Copy and pasting the reply I made from this thread. Just adding this here for more visibility and consolidating info.

  18. Hi everyone, There’s been conversations surrounding the removal of Timer Achievements that are tied to Master Mode (MM) Operations, and we wanted to give you all a glimpse of what led us to this change and what’s happening behind the scenes now. We typically do not openly talk about exploits, however, this is a unique situation and we wanted to add more context to what transpired. In short, there was an Operations bug that was being exploited that allowed players to clear Story Mode level Ops under the guise of playing in Master Mode and earning MM rewards. At the time the bug existed, players that joined a group readying for a Master Mode run could leave the group, reset their phase as Story Mode, rejoin the group, and the entire instance the group was in would be set for Story Mode. The instance, however, would still look like the group was in Master Mode. Thus it was possible for a group to run a Story Mode Op and receive Master Mode rewards upon completion. For a period of time, it was possible for players to partake in this exploit whether they were aware of it or not. When 7.4.1 launched, titles were removed from players who completed Master Mode Operations within that window of time. We are looking into the game data around all MM kills as some players, guilds, and groups are reporting they did this Achievement legitimately while this exploit was live. Currently, the appropriate teams are reviewing the accounts of all players involved with Master Mode runs prior to 7.4.1 going live to validate the legitimacy of the claims. This will take time to review and process, so appreciate your patience as the team sorts through all the data. I will update this thread with next steps pending the completion of the investigation. Thanks all
  19. Hi everyone, Thanks to all who are providing info the team needs to investigate this issue further. There is a follow up troublshooting step they would like you to try if deleting the client_settings_ini file AND adjusting the graphicsquality line to 1 does not work. For players who are unable to get past the key art loading screen, can you: Open the client_settings_ini file to edit it. Under the [Renderer] section, delete all the lines save for the GraphicQuality line and adjust that to 1 As an example, your file should now look something like this. [Renderer] GraphicsQuality = 1 [Game] MoviesFolder = ..\..\Movies SwtorRegKey = SOFTWARE\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic Save and load up the game. Please report here whether or not that fixed your issue. I do ask that comments are kept to providing the info asked for, so we can quickly collect responses. Thanks!
  20. Hi all, I've asked for players to answer some questions the team is asking regarding this issue here in this thread. We'll be keeping an eye on responses.
  21. Hi all, Following up on the above. If deleting the settings folder does not fix the issue, could you please answer the following: What happens if you edit the client_settings_ini file and change the lines “GraphicsQuality = 1” and “TextureQuality = 1”? (It's fine if you don't see the TextureQuality line). What graphics card are you using? Feel free to answer in this thread.
  22. Hey folks, Coming off of 7.4.1, there were obviously some changes we made that received some feedback and I wanted to talk through them with you! I think we can put them in three buckets and in each there are some problems from our side that I want to address. Those buckets in order are: Removing Reputation tracks from GS / Blueprint Fragment confusion Changes to Reputation Conquest Objectives Missing patch notes Where is the Rep Track?! Simply put, the intended functionality of a Rep track does not pair well with the functionality of Galactic Seasons. For us, we want a rep track to be something that a player can engage with over a long period of time, to work through, earn rewards and titles, etc. Since a GS is only available for a limited time we didn’t want to push into a FOMO feeling or anything like that. We want Rep tracks to be tied to things like Daily Areas. However, there was a similar expectation of those items being on the track, of those Achievements being earned during the season, etc. And so as a middle ground we replaced the rep items with the Blueprint Fragments which could serve a similar purpose. The problem here is that our messaging and overall user experience for these could use some work. We didn’t communicate this change clearly up front and more importantly, Blueprint Fragments themselves don’t do a great job of communicating what they or what their purpose is. Going forward, it is our intention to stop doing rep tracks for Galactic Seasons and reserve them for content where it makes more sense (like Daily Areas). The Conquest Change This is surely the place we saw the most feedback here in the forums following the patch yesterday. First off, why did we even make this change? Well, this Objective is quite a bit outsized in just how many points you get relative to its effort. Not that we don’t want a range of Objectives, some of which can be completed very easily/quickly. But this Objective was a very large amount of points for what was required of you, and that’s why we ultimately nerfed it. In connection to the first section is that although we lowered the points from this Conquest, our goal was to add in new objectives so that players who were jumping in for quick sessions and progression through Galactic Seasons, could then also be gaining Conquest points (the new Objectives focus on gaining GS levels). Now, all of that being said, we definitely hear your feedback. We know that we hit this Objective pretty hard. And although it may have been needed to pull it into balance, we are actively discussing what adjustments we can make and I will let you know once I have those details. But, Where was the Patch Note Ok so before I peel back the curtain a little I want to get something out of the way, we didn’t try to hide any of this, it was just missed (I’ll tell you how in a minute). We know that a nerf like this is never fun and you having to discover it on your own adds so much more friction to the situation. But to be clear, any change that is player facing should be communicated to you, whether that is through patch notes, social media, forums, or some combination of all of the above. A change that affects you that is missed is never intentional. I know ya’ll appreciate some behind the scenes when we can and so this is a good opportunity, so here goes. Let me walk you through how our patch notes are built to illustrate how this was missed. And amusingly a little bit of how Musco of the past and Musco of the present combined for this one. Also usual reminder I am going to be doing a bit of oversimplifying here so don’t take all of this as 100% 1 to 1, but to be illustrative! Ok so when we pull patch notes we do so mostly in two ways: Highlights - These are the big features we know and track across a whole lot of teams, usually have marketing blurbs written, blogs, etc. Bugs - The important one for this section, we pull our bug fixes internally based on a query that Musco, Community Manager of the past, helped write. This pulls from our internal tracking of all of the bug fixes we made for a particular release so that Jackie and the Live team can convert those into patch notes! Now fast forward. As of late we’ve really been trying to squeeze in more stuff when we can and often this stuff is small. So not a whole big feature, but also not us fixing a bug. From a project management standpoint, those things are tasks. This is something Musco, Producer of the Present has been helping to drive internally. You can see this in things like Ancient Armaments or the new Legacy Perk. Well, when we are building our patch notes as I already described, we are typically looking at our highlight features and bugs (thanks Musco of the past) and in that query we now realize we were missing some tasks. In fact, both of my examples of tasks from above, Ancient Armaments and the new Legacy Perk, were missed on our first internal draft of the patch notes until we caught them on review. You can probably see where this is going. The changes I’ve been talking about in this thread were all captured in tasks and so when we were writing the patch notes they were just missed and then weren’t caught on internal review. As you already can guess we are updating our process to make sure we are throwing a better net on catching those tasks in the future. Anyways, this is a long post and I have thrown quite a lot of information at you. Thank you all for the continued feedback and I will pass on any more information as I have it. -eric
  23. Servers are now back up! The following patch notes will be added shortly. Fixed an issue with the exclusive Join the Fight bundle K-NorCo B5C Mount not being able to be rideable at level 1. Galactic Seasons 6 Blueprint Fragments are now Bind on Pickup. Thanks all
  24. Good morning everyone, We're getting ready to deploy Game Update 7.4.1a: Time: 9:30am CT / 2:30pm UTC Estimated downtime: 2 hours I'll update this thread when the servers are back up.
  25. Hi everyone, Chiming in to give you all an idea of what to expect for tomorrow. We do intend on taking down the servers to roll out 7.4.1a which would fix the K-NorCo B5C Mount from the Join the Fight bundle. However, we do not have an exact time scheduled just yet as there are levels of verification and testing that needs to be happen. Once I have this information, I will update this thread. What I can say at this time that estimated downtime is approximately two (2) hours. Thanks all.
  26. Hi everyone, Wanted to put together a short checklist/troubleshooting guide as we’re seeing reports of players being unable to get past the key art loading screen. Security programs Be sure to add the game AND launcher on the allowlist for any security programs (anti-virus, firewall, etc…) Depending on what programs you are using, you will have to look up how to add SWTOR executables to the allowlists. Adding only one or the other may not allow the game to play correctly. Subscriber vs Preferred/F2P accounts being able to log in There are reports of some players with Subscriber accounts being unable to log into the game, however, if they create a new account, the new account is able to log in. We recommend that impacted accounts delete the settings folder that is typically found here: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings Before doing this, back up your files in case this is not the root cause for this issue. Do you meet the system requirements for SWTOR? Please note that if you do not, the game may not run properly on your machine. OS: Windows 10 or later - 64-bit Processor AM : Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better Processor Intel:Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better Memory:6GB RAM Graphics Card: Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 1 GB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include: Intel HD 3000 or better/ AMD Radeon HD 7450 / Nvidia GeForce 610 Storage: 75 GB Internet connection Required to play. Will be keeping an eye on reports and add to this list as needed.
  27. Hey folks, I wanted to give you a quick heads up on our plans for the next little bit as we have 3 patches coming to you in pretty short order. 7.4.1a will be coming ASAP, likely tomorrow. This is to address an issue that the Join the Fight mount is not currently working at level 1 as intended. Jackie will be posting details once we have locked down maintenance timing. 7.4.1b is right on the horizon, targeting early/mid next week followed by 7.4.1c in the next 2-3 weeks. We are tracking a variety of emerging issues for these patches such as Ancient Armaments and Conquest/Rep change. I’ll be back later today or early tomorrow with a follow-up post about our internal conversations following your feedback on the Conquest/Rep changes. I’m gonna lock this thread for now and will respond here later. I will reopen the thread when I do! Thanks all, talk soon. -eric
