What can I do to provide feedback for content on the Public Test Server?

We appreciate your help in testing pre-release content and invite you to submit bug reports in-game through the /bug tool or on the Forums. While we can’t address every piece of feedback, the participation of the Star Wars: The Old Republic community is a valuable part of all of our development efforts.

Where can I find information on what is on the Public Test Server?

We will list the new content on the Public Test Server in the Public Test Server patch notes. Furthermore, we will be making updates to the patch notes regularly as development continues. All changes and updates listed should be considered incomplete and are subject to change or removal before release to the live servers.

Will my character be erased at the end of the Public Test period?

Characters created on the Public Test Server are generally persistent and will not be removed at the end of every testing phase. However, there may be circumstances that require characters to be removed to ensure content is properly applied and tested. Under those rare circumstances, we will make an announcement on our Forums and in the Community Blog.

Will the progress my character makes on the Public Test Server be emulated on the original server?

No. Any progress made by your character while on the Public Test Server will stay on the Public Test Server.

Do I have to create a new character on the Public Test Server?

Yes, you will need to create a new character to play on the Public Test Server. Any characters created on the live servers cannot be copied to the Public Test Server at this time, although we plan to include character copy to help test future content.

Will I have to download additional files to play on the Public Test Server?

Yes. Because the Public Test Server has content that will be featured in future Game Updates, you will have to download additional files after selecting the Public Test Server. The first download may be equivalent to downloading a full second copy of the game.

How do I access the Public Test Server once it is online?
