ALL NEW STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC COMIC SERIES TO BE PUBLISHED EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE
Star Wars: The Old Republic – Threat of Peace Set to Debut in February at www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com
War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire has gripped the galaxy for generations, but the sacking of Coruscant and a subsequent peace treaty are changing everything. As the Republic scrambles to re-establish order, the Sith Empire moves quickly to consolidate power within its new dominion. Behind closed doors, however, individual Sith Lords engage in a quiet but deadly power struggle, and discord breaks out among the Jedi as they wrestle with the moral implications of the new galactic balance. During these chaotic days, the stories of several critical characters interweave as they pursue their passions, stand up for their convictions and ultimately lead the galaxy back to the brink of a catastrophic conflict.
“The Old Republic time frame is ripe for creating epic, galaxy-spanning storylines with provocative moral themes,” says Rob Chestney. “Not only will readers get a preview of the game, they’ll also meet some of the game’s most compelling characters.”
“The comic offers a unique perspective on an era in the Star Wars™ galaxy unseen outside the game,” explains Dark Horse series editor Dave Marshall. “It will be an integral companion to the online experience, and a compelling adventure on its own, accessible to every Star Wars fan.”
This new ongoing series begins in February, featuring story by Rob Chestney and art by Alex Sanchez. Sanchez is an artist who has done work on comics such as Marvel Age Hulk, X-Men, and various Dark Horse comics. New issues of Star Wars: The Old Republic - Threat of Peace will appear every other Friday exclusively on www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com.

Right on I cant wait! |

I hope the game cost $60 for the game itself, $40 for expansions, and $30 a month for a subscription. I'll pay that or more if need be as long as it continues to look as amazing as it does. |

You tell em man, DOWN WITH JEDI |

As long as there are Sith there will be jedi. One can not exist without the other. fore both there natures prevent balance in the force. |

This is my third MMO, and from what i know is that is going to be sick! I mean, in my opinion this game is going to ser pass other MMOs like WoW and even LotRO. Would say mostly because of the already massive community and originality of star wars. and.... it has a freaken PvP system! also in my opinion is the setting of TOR the first i have seen to have a advanced civilization and not arcane magic or old ruin city. we have Courosant and those Minaclorean things! but over all i thinks its going to be a great game. and be honest, we do get dry from the same 'World of Warcraft' or 'Middle Earth' and this is a step up from that. btw the game is said to be launched November 27, 2009 for anyone who asked. you can also pre-order the game i think? |
WHEN POSTING MESSAGES PLEASE DON'T USE JARGON. SOME OF USE DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING.BUT AM ALSO EXCITED ABOUT THE GAME. JUST HOPE ITS NOT TO PG (THAT'S PARENTAL GUIDANCE) FOR MY TASTE. |

Why do ppl think WoW will be better first of all u can be jedi or sith that F****** awesome also in this galaxy so far far away theres tons of planets that we hvent heard of and there will be planets like Kamino and Dagobah that wont be on maps of galaxies because ppl hve deleted them to keep them hidden and secret, that means more adventure and prob alot of unknown stuff going on at those unknown planets and in a video about making the planets while they were talkin bout Ord Mantell a guy said smugglers steal ur spaceships so instead of mounts there is now spaceships this game sounds great.Plus hving PvP in this games with Jedis and Troopers against Sith and Bounty Hunters that sounds like alot of fun.Hopefully this game wont hve monthly pyments just a higher grand total price |
See the thing a lot of you people need to realize is games that are MMO based always need to have some form of income. A game that solely survives off the game sales itself are not always that successful. Dont get me wrong some games do have the ability to due so but with those games paying people to fix issues with the game can be an issue. So having a game with a monthly payment is a GREAT THING in my opinion. It makes it to were the company themselves can pay to have issues of online play resolved and fixed quickly. Not only that its also nice to know that the 15$ a month or w/e the price may be keeps out the really young players who cant afford it ^_^. They usually tend to be the quite immature players that make people want to stop playing the game. |
***** i accidently flagged myself. ROFL! |
I agree. The game should cost money monthly, or the updates will not be as frequent. The new content will also not be as good. I think that those 10-15$ that we spend will keep out spammers, and little kids who are bored. |
besides if we have to pay wouldnt it say something about that |
I really dont think you have to I mean really its online and if you dont need a disk then you dont have to pay. |
Do we have to pay |
dude you have to pay for the game. all the work the devolopers and animators and all the money put in to the game. it aint going to be free. it will prob be just like WoW. a monthly fee. |
I have reserved a copy of this game from a a major retailer of comp games only with only 4 letters in it for the 24th of september yesterday in UK i recomend you do the same unless you are a crazy 2 week camper outside shops lol |
Hey guys... k i got a few questions about the game. |
I just watched some of the game play from the trailers, and so far it looks exactly like World of warcraft. The good thing, is that there's a reason WoW is the most played game: it's got a great storyline, tons of gear, and a great world/gameplay setup. TOR looks like it's holding true to the way they do gameplay (similar to WoW so far). I have a few level 80s from WoW, and the battle tactics are flawless. Hopefully this game takes some tips and succeeds farther than WoW ever can in battle technique. |
Hello every one!!!? ya same here! well if this game ever come's out i'll be doin fine, just kinding no rush take your time guy's and please don't make the same mistake as in the s.w.g. iam new here but have a lot of feedback if |
Well you know what people? This game might not be too good. Becuz i remember alot of people were like this before the release of SWG. And that game SUCKED!! |

how do i play this thing |
right.. how do i just play the game! lol |
Please don't make us pay to much for online! Please!!!! |
Y CAN'T IT B FREE LOLZ!!!!^.^ |
I think that the best payment method can be 10 or 15 dollars for two months, the game was much better than WoW or SWG in payment prices and relation quality/price. |
so i just found out about this game and while ive never even played a game online im extremely looking forward to this. when does it come out and will it be a monthly payment thing? |
I think that this game will be as Star Wars Galaxy in the payment method, maybe monthly payment should be cheap as 10 or 15 dollars/month, but i think that the monthly payment will have a price 20 or 25 Dollars/month, I hope that the game dont be too expensive |
dude how bout some double bladed lightsabers with a different color on each side ya feel me? |
Man I hope it is f2p not p2p |
gonna print these out to make nic comics at my school |

Don't forget ps3 online and xbox360 live if they make this for ps3 and xbox360. |
sorry i had hit reply to a comment by accident If you read the book "Revenge of the Sith", a tremendous amount of story was left out of the movie. Sidious could've easliy finished off Mace. In the Book Mace was barely able to stay alive after Sidious attacked the Jedi and killed 3 Jedi Masters with 3 Strikes. He felt Skywalker coming through the force and bidded his time for him to get there and allowed himself to be disarmed and add effect to the situation for anakin to join him in the Dark Side. and if you think about it he whooped Yoda's a** in lightsaber combat and use of the force (luckily yoda can fit through wire ducting lol). And the only Jedi who could defeat Mace Windu. Read the book to really see Sidious' power and if you really want to see his power over Anakin read "Labyrinth of Evil" the book before EP III. |
The book(s) was made after the movie so I think that the movie should be right. |
If this game doesn't have jedi or sith, that depletes the whole game... |
well i think release is close cos i already pre-orderd it at eb games an they dont let u pre-order games if the release is longer than 10-12 months |
What eb games are you talking about? Because I've checked both gamestop and eb games and neither of them has this game for pre order yet. |
I am REALLY REALLY hoping they have a open PvP server. If you want to talk epic battles between good and evil, than you need this for the hardcores. I think the PvP aspect is what is going to be the selling point for me. Give me blood, not grinding..... |
Paitients! The Time (game) will come this only gives the republic and the jedi more time to prepare for what is going to happen. |
lol patience unless somebody needs a doctor? |
Wouldnt that just ***** everyone off if they made jedi and sith unplayable LOL! |
I believe in reference to the topic of payment and cost, there has been some converstation about the use of "micro transaction" where the actual game is free but items in the game can at the players choice take their real/tangable money and turn it into the given games choice of currency and be used to purchase items. This type of financal system is used in "Second Life" as well as in "D&D online" and from what I have been able to learn is very successful in both cases! so for what its worth this is what I have heard. |
this place needs GMs =( |
We want to know when it is coming out |
SITH WILL ALWAYS OWN....cmon its always a power struggle, the sith win, the jedi win...screw luke hes a lil biotch. return of the jedi was a fluke. vader and sidious took out ALL THE JEDIN ALONE, no way luke could mess it all up, that little nub. but whatever.....it looks good in the movies right? you damn well know my allegiance will be to the sith lords, yay i get a red lightsaber and all....... guess my time on galaxies is limited now....thank god lol |
