As I know about kotor 1&2, The True Sith was not even around. The jedi broke away from the true teaching of the jedi and fell to the dark side. Reven and the Exsile might have found the True Sith, it is unknown. But 300 year later The Sith Return with full fury. I like BioWare story line and history of the Jedi, George Lucas as well has great vision of the story of star wars.

I hope really, that the game is german too

I think the bounty hunters should be able to pick which side they work for or at least pick if and when they want to work for them. all bounty hunters arent inherently evil.

Fri, 06/19/2009 - 04:47

Also, even though BH's are working for the Empire, that doesn't mean that they are evil, they're just going where the money is. The BH's can either choose to try and side with the dwindling Republic who just got their capital city destroyed (not too many credits flowing else where except towards repairs and re-establishment), or BH's can make alot of money by fighting for the Empire.
What would you do as an unbiased Bounty Hunter?

Fri, 06/19/2009 - 04:40

I totally agree with you Katarnian, but I think their reasoning behind BH's being under Galactic Empire allegiance is because 98.99% of all the BHs were hired by the Empire during this time period.
Also, the Republic doesn't trust BH's very much so if you were to get a job from them, it would most likely be more annoying than fun cuz you would be on a much tighter leash, and you may not even be able to collect on a bounty (as made clear in Issue #5 of the web-comic).
So during this time period, Bounty Hunters have a more established role in the galaxy (as hired guns for the Empire) as compared to other periods of time when they are mostly un-biased characters working for whom ever they wish.

Solorio: One Euro is 1,3 Us Dollars i think..not sure though but less than 1,6 i could bet :) I pay 13euro's in a month for playing World of Warcraft.."When i pay with Visa and now i usually do that now". It's a goodie price, but 10euro's in a month for The Old Republic would be cool :)

For you all to know, a demo and many other news will be released for E3:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/starwarstheoldrepublic/news.html?sid=6209...

Words from the same developpers.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 11:23

I'm willing to guess that the monthly playing fee will run us about 9.99 per month. Pretty standard. Of course, if they offer us unlimited character slots as does WoW, I would wager the price will rise to about 14.99 per month, but it will all depend on the beta testing period and the feedback they receive from said testing, along with additional criticisms, demands and requests from the public involved in the open beta testing period. If they get an overwhelming response to the game, it's likely the price will be higher than lower. If there are tons of bugs and issues by release date, they will opt for a more "bargain" monthly fee.

we'll just hafta wait and see, m8s. All will be revealed in time.

Fri, 06/19/2009 - 04:54

Or maybe the game will be released for xbox as with all of the other Bioware games :D. KOTOR I & II - xbox, Mass Effect I & II - xbox 360. promising pattern so far.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 20:50

And sorry again, i mis read. 8-10 euros a month seems alot more correct then 15-20. I'm a little tired right now i'm not paying full attention to what i read.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 20:47

Sorry about that i pushed the wrong reply button, my orignial comment was aimed at dragen. Who i'm assuming is from Europe.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 20:44

Wait? are prices differnt for diffrent countries. I mean i live in Cali. but i have friends who lived in Canada and Japan, and even though the exchange rates were differnt it was about the same when it came down to how much something was worth.

I haven't been following the stocks to much recently (too depressing) but has the exchange rate for Europe (i'm assumming most of the European countries besides england uses the Euro) but isn't a euro about 2 american dollars?
Is it standard to pay that much (15-20 euros) to play a game monthly?

But then again England does have that 200 dollar bk burger.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 14:07

WoW doesnt offer "unlimited" slots, while it is true you can have alot, the limit is 10 per server, and only 80 over all.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 10:47

Wiuh these sure look nice :)
Always spirit high in da ceiling when i look those class videos and i've downloaded all developer dispatch videos etc. and watch some of them almost every day =) Something like 8-10euro's per month would be nice amount to pay for adventuring :) Or even less ofc,but was just thinking at first that maybe a little less than normal amount in MMO's and thank you Bioware for making these video updates :)

Peace.

Thu, 05/28/2009 - 17:01

Just saying, as of 5-27-09, the exchange rate is

(1 Euro = 1.3942 U.S. dollars)

So if the cost of this is 10$/m, then it would be like

7.17€, or more than likely 7€.

15$, 10.75€, or 11€.

Just wanted to help clarify.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 20:06

trivial. 80 toons is practically unlimited. not even a no-lifer has time to make 80 level 80s.

The concept still remains. the average mmo offers 3-12 toons. most only offer 6, so 80 is a might much. arguing the tiny details is petty.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 14:34

You say 80 chars is only ;D
Darn..i consider that as crazy and no sense =)

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 10:21

very nice

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 07:32

cheers bioware, keep up the good work

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 03:31

I for one welcome our new avatar overlords!

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 03:14

I have one question that is bothering me: what is E3?
Okay: On that note, I am a tad confused as to the nature of a "Fan Friday." What is it? When is it? How often, and what kinds of things come out? If someone could answer my query, I would be greatly appreciative.
I saw that tutorial for the graphics earlier, but I can't make heads nor tails nor stingers of it. If raice could elaborate a tiny bit, I would like to get in on all this fan art.
Hoping for more planets, skills and races.
May the Force be with us all.

E3: Electronic Entertainment Expo
A yearly gathering of the largest game developers(like BioWare, Lucasarts, Ubisoft, EA, Blizzard, Nintendo, etc.) and console/handheld makers(Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft).
You've probably never heard of it because in recent years it pretty much died, due to ridiculous entry fees and limits on attendance, among other things. It was recently revived, and is going on right now.
Basically, it's where everyone who makes games or game platforms go to show off those games and platforms to the general public, mostly focused on the North American audience. Asia has the TGS(Tokyo Game Show), and Europe has the LGC(Leipzig Games Convention).

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 02:46

The fat one probably has a 360 degrees H.U.D., like fett...

Mon, 05/25/2009 - 21:37

But i thank you Bioware for these great avatars :)

Mon, 05/25/2009 - 21:32

We are like dogs to Bioware. Sometimes they throw us a bone sometimes so we keep quiet.

Mon, 05/25/2009 - 20:58

You flatter me, brother.

I meant only to clear the air about some probable confusion over the subject mythos. Not everyone reads the authorized books, nor do they keep an active interest in wookieepedia, which is ironically accurate to an extent.

Just to clarify a bit more for those who may want to debate the matter further, I would like to attest that the clones did fade down to a minority by the time Vader came to be a Dark Lord of the Empire. Over the ages, the empire did undergo recruitment from those in the galaxy that did so agree with the politics that the empire did so proclaim and enforce. For all intensive reason, the Mandalorian practice and bloodline was, regrettably, diminished from the Empire by the end. A shame.

Thankfully, the mandalorian spirit is impossible to snuff out, even when all else has failed, and Mandalorians can still be found everywhere, especially on Mandalore. With the exception of the Fett family bloodline. But that is another story all together too, lol.

Thanks again, for listening.

Mon, 05/25/2009 - 17:34

I am really getting frustrated with some people calling these clone troopers.

So,... THESE ARE NOT KRIFFIN CLONE TROOPERS!
It is obvious that the Republic models their trooper armor after the only reasonable warrior culture in the whole galaxy. And don't forget, the Republic is headquartered on the planet of origin for the Mandalorians. Do your research before you preach... please.

Tue, 05/26/2009 - 00:45

Also the adoption of anything is a big part of mandalorian culture ever since the beggining Tuang adopted many humans and other Species into there ranks and that has carried on into there culture and blood and relation has never been much of a matter in mandalorian culture. Alot of childern where war-orphans adopted by mandalorian's. They are a unusually kind in rare aspects more of a misunderstood culture. They sided with the sith many times but to Mandalorians there is not much sense in alignment as they would look at the republic the same way there would look at the sith empire.

Mon, 05/25/2009 - 20:21

That was very well put, i am happy to see that there are people who are not just blowing smoke and understand what they are talking about edwyrmhyde

Mon, 05/25/2009 - 18:47

As I understand it:

Clone troopers are clones of Jengo Fett. He was a "Mandalorian" Bounty Hunter.

Someone named Sifo-Dyas ordered the construction of a clone army, but died before it was seen through to fruition. Tyranus Picked up the bill and hired Jengo Fett to fulfill the role as genetic template for the vast army.

After several batches of defective, rebellious clones, they were altered to be more loyal and susceptible to direction. Jengo Fett took time off from bounty hunting to oversee the training of the army and was the primary designer of said military uniforms, thus being that of Mandalorian design.

The original "Mandalorians" were Taung, so, it's subject for debate as to what constitutes as a real mandalorian as the Taungs have long been thought to be extinct, though any true mandalorian fan will tell you that its more of an organized religion and lifestyle that a species.

So, as far is this armor/race thing is concerned, yes, the clone troopers, or "Stormtroopers" are in fact Mandalorians under the control of the sith/republic empire, as it their armor of "Mandalorian" design.

PS.

(The sith were also a a race consisting of two sub-species before the sith came along... but thats another story all together, lol.

I hope this has helped shed some light on a most confusing topic, m8s.

Mon, 05/25/2009 - 17:26

I like the way this class looks so far there should be some promising attributes within their attack strategies...
