Timeline 1: The Treaty of Coruscant
Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is set during a unique time period in the galaxy’s history. Decades of war concluded with the Sith Empire sacking the Republic’s capital planet, Coruscant, and forcing Republic Senators and the Jedi Council to agree to a painful peace treaty.

In the years following the treaty, the Jedi Council tasked Master Gnost-Dural, Keeper of the Jedi Archives, with re-examining the galaxy’s history in light of recent events. In his insightful reports, Master Gnost-Dural established a new galactic timeline that became an educational reference for years to come… the very same years in which Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place.

In his first entry, Master Gnost-Dural recounts the events immediately prior to the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant – the turning point in the Republic’s recent history.

Watch Timeline 1: The Treaty of Coruscant narrated by actor Lance Henriksen.

Fri, 05/15/2009 - 07:38

i hope that the devs can really build on where the kotor series left off i also hope that there is a decent economy throughout the the worlds and that there are a variety of proffessions to choose from as well as classes oh and guys if you havent thought about it please please put in an auction house system to temper the selling and buying that would be rampant but good work so far on what you have let us see

bioware freaking rocks so hard, they make both sides seem so awesome i cant decide between being republic or sith.

(and i wont mention names but someone poked at Mythic in this thread, and i say screw you! until this game DAOC was the best mmo out there)

Wed, 05/13/2009 - 03:17

me to sith rock.

Sat, 05/09/2009 - 05:17

when will it come out

Sat, 05/09/2009 - 05:13

This is entirely a theory and is completely open to debate by you guys but my prediction is that there's going to be 16 planets in total because the map during the last part of the timeline showed a map with 8 Republic-held and 8 Sith-held planets. Maybe that's a early version of some kind of map we might use in the game. Any thoughts?

Mon, 05/11/2009 - 04:18

well its definately something im wishing to see. thats an awful lot of planets tho :O we'll see.

Fri, 05/08/2009 - 20:12

Waiting for some sort of beta before i get excited.

Sun, 05/10/2009 - 16:12

Good point! That would be awesome. 16 would mean a lot of space to explore. Since I am not into Gaming that much, especially not MMO, I was even flabbergasted by the realm of the KOTOR (1) world back then. I just hope playing SWTOR doesn't mean giving up life as we knew it! ;)

Thu, 05/07/2009 - 15:28

ok but when can i play

Thu, 05/07/2009 - 01:37

I agree, a mercinary jedi would be so awesome.

Wed, 05/06/2009 - 00:14

i'd be fun to be a "mercenary jedi." combine both bounty hunter and jedi so that the "mercenary jedi" can take contracts too lol. bobba fett with a saber WOO

Tue, 05/05/2009 - 19:42

The wait is going to be awhile, but i have a feeling it's going to be sooooooooo worth it.

Tue, 05/05/2009 - 10:57

I'm starting to believe that Bioware is neglecting everything that happened in KotOR 2, unless those events are going to be included in the video about the Jedi Civil War. And I also don't understand what the Mandalorians are doing as allies of the Sith Empire. Canderous Ordo said once (in either of the two games) that the Mandalorions weren't planning on allying themselves with the Sith ever again since their experiences with Exar Kun.

Fri, 05/15/2009 - 16:54

If you watch it again he says at the end that it was much more complicated thab it being a sith controlled action.

Tue, 05/12/2009 - 06:45

But as was stated that Revan went out to find the true sith....maybe the in game will have teachings on what Revan found?

Fri, 05/08/2009 - 02:02

Maybe they saw a potential profit and this profit outweighed any past feelings they might have had in the Exar Kun War. Or maybe they wanted to fight another war "for the honor and glory of battle" like Canderous said they did during the Mandalorian Wars.

Thu, 05/07/2009 - 23:49

it's been 300 yrs. since then, maybe they had no choice in order to survive as a race.

Mon, 05/04/2009 - 21:33

I truly hope this game will be everything we want it to be, and also hope that Bioware remembers that it's the customers that keep these games alive unlike some companies...mainly Mythic.

Wed, 05/06/2009 - 19:35

The thing is in kotor Darth Treya could make out the 'True Sith' were millions of times worse than Revan and his falan jedi but in actuallity it will never live up to the legends, and as far as Revan and Kun's sith only being fallen jedi and not actually sith, the very first Lords of the Sith were fallen Jedi. Revan, Nihlus and atris all studyed from the anciant sith holocrons, Once these true sith die out its eventually replaced by sith who fit closer to Revan rather than the true.

Wed, 05/06/2009 - 18:30

??? Maybe you don't know your KOTOR 2 as well as you think you do?

"You thought that the corrupted remnants of the Republic, the machines spawned by technology that Revan led into battle were the Sith? You are wrong. The Sith is a belief. And its empire, the true Sith Empire, rules elsewhere. And Revan knew the true war is not against the Republic. It waits for us, beyond the Outer Rim. And he has gone to fight it, in his own way."
―Kreia, to the Jedi Exile (in KOTOR 2)

And again, Exar Kun was a fallen Jedi who embraces the Sith ways. Not a born and bred Sith Warrior or Sith Lord. There's more lore to this era (4000-6000 years before the movies) than KOTOR. Everything KOTOR and KOTOR 2 had was internal rebellion of the Republic and Jedi/fallen jedi. The Republic hasn't seen the true Sith in over a thousand years.

Tue, 04/28/2009 - 22:33

I wonder if we will get to visit or see Master Gnost-Dural in the game? I would think that he would be at the Jedi archives library on Tython or possibly on Coruscant.
