although i don't really like that you chose to go cartoony with the graphics, im still very interested in seeing how the game is.

I still remember the first day I logged into SWG. I was blown away at the feeling I had. Never felt like that from any game I had played. After the NGE hit SWG I have tried many MMO's and none even come close to replacing the fun I had playing a StarWars game. Kotor 1&2 was awsome, but not an MMO. I have looked at this pics many times and I still can't believe the crazy awsome feeling I get.

I had that same feeling, the first time I logged onto Galaxies, I was so into it, I couldn't look away, I told all my friends. I think that week I played for like 100 hours (not kidding) :)

Looks great, im just iffy about those oversized light saber handles. Some pictures of them dont even look like a feasible or practical weapon. Holding a handle that big could easily be knocked out of your hand lol.

Needs to be darker! Gotta look wartorn like there was just a huge war between the Republic and the Sith! I think a good idea would be to have a dramatic contrast between the Sith and the Jedi/Republic. Korriban and other Sith worlds should look oppressed and downtrodden. Maybe the people living there should have downcast eyes and a cautious stare hinting that they're always ready to run and hide... Republic worlds should look a little scarred, showing that fighting had taken place there, but for the most part cleaner and more positive; while the people living there should look worn, but confident and hopeful. Ya know?

Kaiser you do bring up a good point, but was the Empire in the movies really so bad on the normal people.. no.. the only problem is a large scale war increases a large scale war dept.. how many Star Destroyers.. and Death Stars can you go through before you need to increase taxes on the simple people of the galaxy.

Now you increase taxes.. normal people get pissed... uprising.. so forth and so on.

Why would the Sith be Oppressive? Wouldn't it be a much better story, a much more intriguing plot, if the Sith were so laissez-faire about the worlds they own, seeing as they only care about destroying the Jedi, that they don't really impose anything on their worlds? Their worlds would probably be overrun with corruption and crime, but their citizens shouldn't be oppressed.

I have to say I really am impressed with all that i have seen on this sight , but the one thing that sort of gets to me at times and really upsets me are the certain few which start complaining from the time the game was announced and in production. GUYS WE DIE HARD STARWARS FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A PIVITOL (sorry about the spelling) MONUMENTAL GAME LIKE THIS FOR A LONG TIME , A GAME WITH NEW IDEAS , A GREAT CONCEPT AND ALL AND ALL OUT MULTI YET ADVENTURE ON YOUR OWN TYPE GAME ............BE HAPPY AND LOOKFOREWARD TO WHAT YOUR GOING TO GET AND THEN DECIDE AND COMPLAIN ONCE YOU GET THE GAME.

Calm down! No need for caps. I hope they excel where other mmo games have failed. PvP must be a huge part of the game. Without a good pvp system it's just WoW with different art. The last thing we need is another care bear game where we kill hordes of monsters and run solo missions. They will lose a huge crowd if they do not cater to pvp. If they do it right they can create an intense environment that will attract a huge crowd. Just look at EvE online. When you play EvE you get an intense feeling because you can be war decd at the drop of a hat and half of the universe is hostile. This also creates an environment where you have to make friends. Implement a system that creates excitement and player driven content ftw.

By being deceptioned I learnt not 2 wish mmos, I waited anxiously 4 ultima online and it wasn't worth the while, terrible, hope the same doesn't happen with TOR, I guess it won't anyway, till now it's looking cool.

this game is so perfect , ive been waiting so long for them to make kotor mmo , hope this dont flop out because its alot better than the other pikey online games like wow , guild wars , rf online

Why LucasArts always announces the games with so much advance?
Now they leave us with the desires during months!

Truth is to create a large market for a game, or movie, or anything.. advertising months.. even years ahead is plus.. more time, for people to tell other people about it.. the market for the game will expand, and apon launch date you will have server crashes like crazy from how many people are logging in.. but by this point, the cash is already in the bank.

I this game is going to come out great, I can feel it. They are really taking their time on this one. The longer the better. It must be perfect, it must be just right. Look at blizzard, they prove time and time again that quality takes time and good execution is rewarding. Thumbs up Bioware and make it happen!

The detail is great! I love the scenery shots. I like how Bioware are moving somewhere new with this game. They are making the Star Wars world look like never before. Sure some of the shots look a bit cartooney and not exactly what I would like but when the game is finished I think it will look amazing! They've just gotta perfect it a bit. I agree about the weapons. Smaller and sleeker. I love the last screenshot with the lightsaber. It looks great! This game is gonna look great! Keep up the good work!

Well, on the upside, it looks like the textures, shading, and sharpness have improved-grats, that looks great. STILL waiting for some screenshots of starships (i'm not even sure if there's concept art for ships yet), space, or planets from space.
I'm sure a lot of the people on these foreums would be perfectly happy with nothing more than a jedi/sith battle royale, and that looks to be the direction of this game at that point. Not all of us, however. Variety is another pillar i feel that is more important than even storyline, and i'm still waiting for bioware to deliver on that.
What we've been shown looks great, espescially the droids and the scenery. But i'd like to see more aliens, ships, planets, and space.

Id like for you to stop posting on these forums and pics with all the negative comments you post, ill admit this one is more constructive but that dose not make up for your previous idiotic postings...but hey we all can't get what we want right?

I agree the exagerated factor brings WoW to mind and it is not a good feeling...

Design always takes inspiration from other projects and it is not shameful, but completely altering the artistic concept of the existing and established Star Wars style is very bold and not in the good sense. Star Wars has existed for 30 years and it is not the time nor is it required to alienate the fans.

I always consider negative feedback to be useless if it does not propose a way out of the problem. So if you wish to draw Star Wars inspiration, aside from teh movies of course, check out Assasin's Creed.

You have to remember the scale that this game is on.

Conan failed because it was too graphically advanced; thousands quit because they disliked the overhaul it required to play.

Assasin's Creed looks amazing because it is a small, condensed, console game that has the capability of producing such quality. An mmo must be able to support the attention of thousands of gamers at one time -- making an mmo with the graphical output of Assasin's Creed would be insane and ignorant.

They chose a style that both fits the idea of Star Wars while not losing it's meaning, and won't require high performance PC's to play.

They chose the compatible road, not the elitist one; they're making this for fans, not money.

When I look at some of the screen shots and concept art I cant help but think DC comics and Spandex.

I agree with you Rexx. The mickey mouse Bubbly look has got to go! The Graphics in this game should stick to the Traditional Star Wars look, not the Bubbly Lego Star-WOW-Galaxies look.

I also /agree it's WoW in space. But in the end a billion dollars a year is a fantastic motivator to do EXACTLY what blizzard has done. I for one won't be playing yet another wow clone. But then again I don't think I am their target market. From how bioware has presented this game neither are you Rexx. If this is the Rexx I know. You know how to get a hold of me.
