I have played swg for a while now, and i play a medic, a bh, and a Mando, and this seems to be a mixture of like the bh and mando in that and im liking it, nicely done.

IMO: Troopers should have a quest that allows you the option to detail ur armor paint. Like the clone wars. Aside from that I'm sure Jedi will be cool but will deend on troopers for alot of things. Vice versa.

i have always been a melee or caster type person but this trooper is straight out of a special ops unit it looks like. just run in there and just start blasting. lucasarts are doing such a great job with these characters.

The armor is what really won me over, because without you might as well be a Smuggler.

Hey, don't underestimate smugglers either. They may not survive as many hits, but they won't get hit as an alternative.

Let's refrain from calling it a WoW killer. That tends to be a stigma, and hopefully, game devs aren't using that as a goal, and focusing more on providing the key elements that gamers need aswell as what the game needs to be enjoyable and long-lasting fun. If it becomes the new 500lbs Gorilla.... that's just icing on the cake. =)

kamas and pauldrons are a must for the customization of this class. and changing the markings and color of markings or else all the troopers are going to look alike and less people are going to play as them. i mean id want my trooper to look like a commando from the clone wars with his own distinctive color and markings. if that doesnt happen im going with jedi like the other 40 percent of the players lol

LOL this game is gonna be sweet. I can already see it: people yelling out "For the Jedi/Republic" or "For the Sith/Empire" or something similar to that like in World of Warcraft rofl. "For the Alliance", "For the Horde" =)

I agree. I'd love to see dyeable parts for armor sets. Not too many games add this in, and it does absolute wonders for customization and picking yourself out of a crowd.

i dont think that will be, it wont make sense with all the other playble races, there will probably just be a sith commando class to match it, and then i guess the last class will be a spy like class like a Imperial Intelligence class

i was thinking in Kotor the mandalorian trooper was the most feared trooper but with this new republic class i think that could change. id love to see the mandalorian troopers and republic troopers fight it out in this game

I thought it woulld have been more interesting if a person could start with an original non jedi class and then upgrade much like in the first Kotor. I suppose that would give a very poor learning curve for new players however... It just seems that when given the oppurtunity to swing a lightsaber around and do all kinds of crazy feats no one would really want to be a blaster toting infantry man.

Cool looking armor, heavy weapons experts , combat experience, Jedi as good partners , no fear. Hell maybe i'll start as a Trooper.

i hope that when the game launches we will be emersed in a varity of battles. i hear the trooper kicks butt, and i'm ready to kill some sith and jedi.

Bounty Hunters will destroy! although the trooper does look pretty impressive.
I guess when i face one of you troopers ill have to pull out all the shots.

These are not simple troopers, as the devs and the story tells, after the sacking of Coruscant by the sith, all the jedi were blamed and they went to tython. So there was no one to defend the republic, then they started training eleite commanders and troopers, not like just go out and die troopers, but probable ones like Rex from The Clone Wars Series

I agree, the sith are not above being shot. how many jedi fell to the blaster fire during all the wars, now then compare sith to jedi.... sith will still be shot and killed. only a fool will look down on such thing.
