I try to think positive: Bigger is better and the more mobile,the faster. Lets just hope those sith don't get to them,I left my battle plans inside the astromech! LOL!

I like how they made the droids bulkier. Even though the Star Wars universe has constants like Jedi, Sith, the Force, lightsabers, etc. there are still technological advances. This game takes place 3,000 years before the movie timeline, so certain things like these droids, starships, etc. will look bulkier, different, and less aesthetically pleasing then the sleeker versions in the films because they are 3,000 years in the making.

Think of the difference between the first home PC to today's current laptop. =)

pretty sure TOR is taking alot of its inspiration from SW episode 4,5,6. in which R2-D2 pretty much saves the day or does something important in each of the films, so i gather from that droids will play large rolls in our storys and outcomes.

I have always wanted my own droid, hopefully I can have one in TOR! :)

I think the droids in KOTOR looked better. Not bad though.

Love the old-style looking droids, but that T3(?) unit is MASSIVE compared to the protocol droid standing beside it, and the table in the background. Perhaps that is intentional, like Industrial Automaton's humongous P1 units (the ancestor of the R-series astromech droids)? But if that is supposed to be a T3 unit, it is crazy out-of-scale.

he big enough for me... the t3 unit were too small in KOTOR. this is the first generation of Astrodroid. for sure they are big. today they are smaller...

Yeah, these guys are OLD, they should put a droid that looks a little bit more like an R2.

The small droid, i think its an astromech just looks crappy :S. i mean t3 looked much better and he is 300 years older as said before. this thing here is a small and fat bling bling thingy :S. But they look together like some version of R2 and 3P0

So i just want that no one understands me in a wrong way i like the basic designs but this astromech is freaky and not in a good way :(

droids are half the reason why Star Wars is as impressive as it is. if you can say the first droid on your mind at any time, it will probably be R2-D2 or C3P0. There are more classical robots from older films but SW has the ability to create the vision of a droid that everyone can relate to

What I find really funny is the fact that T3-M4 is more advanced than the Astromech droid in this screenshot. By now, the T3-M4 unit is 300 years old, yet sleeker than the Astromech droid in the screenshot. Oh well, that's Star Wars for you.

I like the way the droids' design evolves, but that's not enough change for 3000 years. Look at the Model-T Ford and the modern day car- they're totally different. After 3000 years, these two should look much more different to their KOTOR counterparts than they do.
