To play a Rakata Sith Lord would be awesome since they were the original masters of the dark side. I think we have a shot since the elders in Kotor were trying to reconnect with the Force it's been 300 years maybe they succeeded restore the Infinite Empire!

i dont see this species as being a playable race considering after their golden age they became primitive.

I hope rakata will be a playable class altough i won´t play has it i will play has an human or kel dor for the dark side but it would be cool if they where playable at least.

These guys look like extremely slim Mon Calamari, don't they? I like the wrinkles and the eyes, makes them look wise.

This is amazing, I can't believe I missed this earlier. PLEASE make the Rakata playable! How amazing would a player's storyline be as a Rakata? A resurgence of the species would be fantastic! What if the emperor is Rakata? Fascinating stuff, please bring them back as a playable species!

I thought that the Ratakans were pretty much extinct by this time. I say that it would be awesome if you could play as a Yuuzhan Vong advance scout. It probably won't happen, but they should to try to incorparate Pre-Invasion Vong encounters in some kind of way.

to vong jedi it is possible that there are yuuzhon vong scouts, they have been here for a longggg time and to darth dakota this is 300 yeears after revan disapears

I wonder if this game takes place before Reven if so it would seem logical for these guys to be floating around somewhere in the universe

It would be good to visit the rakatan home world or be able to have them as a playable race.

sweet i was hoping the rakatans would make a reappearance. i cant wait to see what kind of quests and events they have planned out for these guys.

I thought that the Rakata were decimated by a disease, then lost the intelligence to operate the Star Forge. Now there are only a few left. They do look cool, but I don't want to be part of a species that is almost extinct and has literally gone dumb. That's just my personal opinion.

I would like to be able to choose from a couple of species in character creation in this game.

Hmm Rakata species should be a player species in my opinion. Also I hope they make screen shots with the player as a Non-Human, for I am slowly starting to think the only species they have are human!!!

they are going to have many different playable species if you look through the frequently asked ques. there is a discussion about it they have not determined which ones though

1: I know for sure the Rakata had there decline long before KOTOR 1.... before the Republic was founded. It was a combination of their Warlords wanting too much power(influence of the dark side) and then, to add to that, there was a plague that only killed the Rakata. Their trillions of slaves sensed this weakness and revolted. The remaining Rakata pulled back to their homeworld and destroyed all evidence of their existence. Even on their homeworld, the plague killed more and there were still-war-hungry Rakata that kept killing...

i agree i want to see some trandoshans. but what i really want to see is a new specices!like a mix of a rodian and twilek be really cool. i mean with tentacles and rodian mouth or rodian hair and stuff. itd be so cool if they made a mix of certainr aces to make new races.

ToR is placed 300 years after KotorII.

The Rakata are were introduced in mainly in kotor 1 game, an ancient strong force sensitive race that relied on use of the dark side to dominate, control and conquer new worlds, builders of powerful items fueled by dark side.As wielders of dark force it is easy to understand the end of it. After conquering the galaxy and dominated for thousand of years they turned at each other which led to the fall of their empire and in the end they lost the connection to the force. The story line from kotor 1 uses rakata history and their construction as subject. I assume that due to the fact that TOR is placed thousand of years before kotor games stories they will be used for placing powerful items in the game and "raid" purposes. It will be cool to have the race available to play with as i found them awesome in aspect and wisdom. As a note from playing kotor 1: not all rakata were dark side force users and not all of them lost the connection to the force.

Well, this is cool. This means we might see some Rakata. I doubt they will be playable though because they rarely leave there home world and are slowly going extinct. Cool anyway.
