What happened to leather and metal restricting certain force powers and limiting movement?...It must be an ages where combat defense is more important than agility and speed. But then again; it is an MMO, you must take damage, and more armour=more defense=less damage taken...and even being a jedi damage must be taken...or it would be an unfair game, seeing as in movies we watch 5 jedi kill 100 troopers in a minute, regardless of armour and defense,?

i hope there is more then one costume for the jedi ad the sith it ould be lame if everyone look exactly the same other then there face, i hope they add alot of different otufits and stuff of the matter

You got to remember this is at a time before the movies. This time seems to embrace the Jedi's defenses. The Jedi are more celebrated then in the movies and even though the people of the republic blame them some for their situation being a Jedi is still a special thing. It's makes seance that they would ware elegant clothes.

A bit too fancy I think....... something a bit simpler and more modest would be more fitting, all the trappings and gold make them seem more like Sith robes than Jedi. These robes bring one Jedi to mind Valentine Farfella, not sure. I would like something a bit more understated. A sleeveless tunic and then have gauntlets that covered my fore arms laced with phrik so they would be lightsaber resistant. yeah hopefully everyone starts out with a similar robe, but each player being able to modify it and alter it to suit their character and their needs.

This looks... Egyptian? It does seem Egyptian inspired with the gold and elaborate patterns.

To answer some peoples answers yes theres metal compounds that can resist lightsabers, some even will extinguish the lightsaber blade on contact. I'm unaware if this armor is made from a lightsaber resistant compound though.

And for those people that dislike the jedi wearing armor I think you will find this interesting. In the time of the Old Republic there were thousands of jedi and sith, in saying that lightsaber duels are very common so armor was developed for protection. But in the time of when the movies 1-3 sith were thought to be extinct and in saying that, there were no lightsaber duels except when jedi trained amongst each other. Therefore armor was unpractical and wearing light robes were all that was needed to handle thugs and what not

I think it's safe to say that unless specifically stated, it is not lightsaber-stopping armor. It should help resist shrapnel and such, which happens fairly often during a war, so it's still worth wearing, in any case.

i think we all agree the cloth robes are more suitable for the Jedi however, we have to remind ourselves that this is a time of war so Jedi and Sith, no matter how strong they think they are, should ware a robe that is more suitable for the time. so im all for the metal not only does it look cool but it will also take some of the sting out of a blaster shot

I think that the jedi robes look way better than sith soo everything else doesnt matter.

Ok so I was thinking wow the Armour looks cool, but what if I want to use Form IV (forget the star wars time line for a moment, lets not get technical), I don't see that happening with bulky Armour on. So my questions are:

1. Will we be able to choose between Robes or the Armour above?
2. Why haven't I seen anything about Light Saber Combat Style's?

Well anyways this wont affect my gameplay to much but I would really like Plain robes like in the movies and stuff. I would make up some story like . .

These Robes are woven from a force sensitive plant on [insert planet here] which are able to minimize Force damage and bend the Force to absorb energy from a Saber or energy weapon.

This necklace is embeded with a stone from [insert planet here] That is able to double (triple what ever) the wearers Force Powers. (Proof of this is on Wikipedia when Qui-Gon Jinn gave Obi-Wan a stone)

Or some crap like that and for each stage the higher the sensitivity. I don't know, just spouting random crap. Then again im pretty sure someone already thought of this. **closes mouth**

Are completely customizable robes a possibility?

I forgot but one guy said this that makes ALOT of sense why they would have armor, because mostly it was small scale battles there were no Sith Jedi left pretty much. So you got your classic fights but in this game don't you think it would make sense they have armor it would help I would think for the extra stray blaster shot or maybe a lightsaber flesh wound.

I like the design but I was hoping for a greater variation in the armor the Jedi wear. The current design looks so constraining. The armor in the Deceived Cinematic trailer was awesome though. I would have no problem wearing that kind of armor including the robes.

I really support the concept of changes to garments at different stages of character development, although I'm not such a fan of armour being worn by Sith and Jedi at all.

I love the inclusion of blue as a Sith colour; I'd prefer that over the typical red that's usually associated with the Sith.

On top of that, the earthy colours of the Jedi are great too, creating a contrast between the menacing, artificial nature of the Sith and the more inviting, more natural appearance of the Jedi.

that would be cool if you can take off your hood and put it back on cuz in kotor 2 the robes looks like they have a hood but i cant put it on, it sucks

thats a great simple idea, i should be able to pop up the hood whenever i wish, it gives us character and style, mysterious, same goes for all classes , switching visors on and off or something like that, jedi robes must at least be able to do this.

I know I wrote this somewhere else, but what about designs on the cloak? i don't know just ideas like tribal tattoos on a cape or a crest something of the sort you get the idea, but you have probably already thought about that.
