The launcher that was on the disks is an older version, download the setup from www.swtor.com/download and select restore, any luck this will sort it for you. This is why they say the first step is to download from the website as it eliminates that as an issue first up.

Sometimes the most less frustrating path is to download onto another computer and transfer the folder to the other machine.

Thanks for contacting us, please follow the steps below to try and resolve the issue.

Please go to www.swtor.com/download, download the latest launcher setup file and run the setup over the current installation. After this please remove and re-add firewall and antivirus exceptions for SWTOR.exe and Launcher.exe.

Then, ensuring that you have the launcher closed and gone from your Processes list in Task Manager, delete the following files:
- "Patch" folder
- "Patcher_-1toXX" or similar folders
- "assets_swtor_XXX_XXX" or similar folders (do not delete the folder named "Assets")
- "Patcher.version" file
- "Launcher.settings" file
- "Launcher.exe" file

Then run the Fixlauncher.exe found in the client installation folder.

Once this has completed, please restart your computer in Safe Mode with Networking, and let it patch.

Thanks for your patience.

I find it funny you have to resort to "most less frustrating" paths. My installer has been stuck at 0% for three days. Deleted bitraider, clean booted, even tried reinstalling the game on a different drive, nothing has worked, downloading to another machine is my last option, and it'd better work. The only reason I'm still trying is because I'm three days into a 60 day subscription and I don't want to waste it, but if this is how it's going to be when I need to update I can't see myself coming back once those 60 days are up.

i guess im jumping in with u guys

work puter keeps downloading galactic stronghold and wont update past that
it wont update to revan. everytime i click play theres error 1006 (different build . version)
change language to french seems to enable it to update, but the game crash upon launching

meanwhile, everything went smoothly at home puter
delete swtor folder from work. copy all the files from home to work. verifying... installing... 99%... reverts back to 30%. wait a day for it to complete download only to find out it only download up to galactic stronghold.

Very odd , I wouldn't think this is a port issue, only thing I can possibly think of is if your work runs say a transparent proxy and the cached files are out dated.

The launcher is like a web browser using the chromium framework so it is also susceptible to web http proxy caching

It can be caching the manifest file itself and that one is before 3.0 was released.

Domain address will be manifest.swtor.com that will need clearing from the cache

Exact address is http://manifest.swtor.com/patch/asse....patchmanifest a 22.3 kb file and http://manifest.swtor.com/patch/reta....patchmanifest 20.8kb file and http://manifest.swtor.com/patch/movi....patchmanifest 10.3 kb file, I think the remainder should be ok if these are the correct versions used in the launcher.

Nothing , if this is due to a proxy server the launcher will overwrite it with the cached copy, so even if you copy the updated files over it will revert to the older game files.

The Cache needs to be updated or cleared
