The launcher that was on the disks is an older version, download the setup from www.swtor.com/download and select restore, any luck this will sort it for you. This is why they say the first step is to download from the website as it eliminates that as an issue first up.

Sometimes the most less frustrating path is to download onto another computer and transfer the folder to the other machine.

- "Launcher.exe" file

Then run the Fixlauncher.exe found in the client installation folder.

Once this has completed, please restart your computer in Safe Mode with Networking, and let it patch.
