I want your opinions on most appropriate AC for each class!

Haven't seen one of these in a while, sorry if there's already one floating around, I couldn't find one. I love these threads though so I thought I'd start ANOTHER ONE!

Anyway, having played through a few class stories I'm well aware that each advanced class fits their respective class stories just fine. For example I've played a sith juggernaut, consular shadow, and and bounty hunter mercenary. I'm just interested in what other people think the "canon" advanced class of each player class might be, without any overlaps. So without further ado, here's my list:

Jedi Knight - Guardian

Jedi Consular - Sage

Smuggler - Gunslinger (but only to avoid overlap with IA, otherwise Scoundrel)

Trooper - Commando

Sith Warrior - Marauder (though juggernaut works just as well)

Sith Inquisitor - Assassin (but only to avoid overlap with Consular, otherwise Sorcerer)

Bounty Hunter - Powertech

Agent - Operative

So what do you think, with the mechanics of each advanced class, best fits the 8 player classes? In my opinion a few of them overlap, and in the end it doesn't even matter, just wondering what feels most "iconic" to you. :)

Mine is identical to yours, except Trooper should be Vanguard. BH could be either, but I'd go with Mercenary to avoid overlapping with Vanguard.

Knight can be either one,but if it was up to me ,i would chose sentinel.

Consular-ether one with a slight leaning towards Shadow.Chapter 1 is more Sage-y,but later he fits the Shadow more.

Trooper can be absolutely either one.

Smuggler -gunslinger because it just fits the character more

Warrior- Juggernaut for sure.Marauder doesn't fit a a high ranking sith and a well fleshed out character+ a protagonists.Their skill set and fighting method is too limited to be one of the most powerful sith in galactic history.

inquisitor: If there was 100% certainty regarding this issue, this is it.The inquisitor is a sorcerer hands down. His story is all about Dark Side and sith lore and Dark Side mastery. The end fight cutscene is a Force Duel and you perform various Sith Rituals in cutscenes during the story.

Hunter-Powertech,because it fit's a Mandalorian Warrior better.Mercenary fits more a hired thug working for the huts and is hands off too much. Also Mandalorian warriors are renown for their physical and melee combat prowess and the Powertech is for up close and personal battles. The protagonist doesn't strike me for someone that just stays back and launches missiles and shoots. He would kick the **** out of a jedi with his bare hands.

Agent: I like snipers more for gameplay, because i get fed up pretty quickly by the constant knife animation, despite the fact that they are badas$. But the agent fits an Operative more.Stealth Field generator is a must for his line of work, and i can't imagine someone using only a sniper rifle for EVERYTHING. The agent gives an impression for a guy superb not only in shooting but martial arts too, which is what combat with a knife actually is ,similar to the protagonist in the film Equilibrium and Neo from the Matrix.

Jedi Knight - Sent. Tank is your first companion, and your healer has +25% threat, making it difficult to tank with him.

Trooper - Commando, a unique weapons specifically for this class. So yeah.

Smuggler - Scoundrel, again a unique weapon the stealth and off-the-cuff type fighting style fits better here then the 'highly trained' IA.

Jedi Consular - Sage, often referred to as being super power-full in the force, constantly healing people/things throughout the story line. Also companion order.

Sith Warrior - Jugg. Dps first companion, healer has -25% threat.

Bounty Hunter - Power-tech, again healer first companion. Also feels awesome to take down Jedi with nothing more then a single blaster.

Imperial Agent - Sniper. It never made sense to be in close range combat and using a knife as your main weapon while hauling around a rifle.

Sith Inquisitor - Assassin.

I only know the force users.

Jedi Knight - Guardian - This is simple...the Guardian is the emodiment of the Jedi (in my opinion). Add to it that the Guardian is the only Knight class with Force Push...and this answer is even simpler.

Jedi Consular - Sage - I view the Consular as the offset to the fighting Jedi Knight.

Sith Warrior - Juggernaut - Marauder could work here...but I think the Juggernaut has the more walking bad*** feel to it that fits for the future Wrath.

Sith Inquisitor - Hard to say really. In a perfect scenario...it's technically an Assassin till the end of chapter 1, then Sorcerer. However, for one choice overall...I would go with Sorcerer.

For me

Jedi Knight- Guardian

Jedi Consular- Shadow

Trooper- Vanguard

Smuggler- Scoundrel

The Jedi Knight because I see the iconic single blade jedi hero from the movies. Shadow because they are the secret protectors of the Jedi, so it makes sense in their story. Trooper, that cannon is HEAVY so I think he'd ditch it and let Jorgen do they lifting. Smuggler, Han Solo with a shotgun ftw.

Sith Warrior- Marauder

Sith Inquisitor- Sorcerer

Bounty Hunter- Mercenary

Agent- Sniper

For the warrior, the Wrath is an embodiment of rage and power so I think the Marauder fits better, plus it is different from the Jedi hero so it makes a good contrast. The Sorc because his entire questline is about esoteric force powers and stuff. Merc, well I was thinking Cad Bane, Jango Fett, etc... but Powertech would work just as easily. Agent, I like snipers but it could go either way.

Interesting thread!

Sage feels like a spot-on fit with Chapter 1 of Consular atm.

My Smuggler, after seeing the opening movie, there was not even a question. I really loved the idea of a Dirty Fighting Tree after that, just fit my character like a glove. I have seen nothing in the story that made my choice jarring.

The way I created my IA, she was practical, deadly patient and cold-headed, so Sniper worked awesome, and a quick knife stroke added to the feel. Nothing in the story contradicted this choice.

I goofed with my Sith Warrior, she is too self-entitled, and places too much value on physical prowess to be a flashy Marauder, but I couldn't resist the 2 sabers. Just couldn't. I do think that this heavy, menacing dark presence of a Juggernaut might have worked better to create the feel. But the story so far worked for the Marauder.

For all other classes, I haven't played them, but picked their AC in a planning sheet based on their primary companion's abilities. Trooper - Vanguard, Jedi Knight - Sentinel, Inquisitor (M) Sorcerer, Inquisitor (F) - Assassin, Bounty Hunter - Mercenary

Knight - Guardian: the prototypical Jedi fighting the ultimate fight

Consular - Sage: the story just seems to suit a more "mystical" jedi not a black ops specialist

Smuggler - Scoundrel: as someone else said the off-the-cuff fighting style just seems more appropriate

Trooper - Commando: Havoc Squad is a Spec Ops "Commando" team after all :)

Inquisitor - Sorcerer: the class name implies "enhanced interrogation" and Force Lightning is a great motivator (FYI I'm playing as Assassin)

Bounty Hunter - Mercenary: You are a gun for hire. Is that not the definition of "mercenary?"

Shadows are not black ops specialists. If you check what shadows are you will notice everything the Consular does fits perfectly the Shadow, post chapter 1.

Chapter 1 is more Sage-y ,yes.

JK - Guardian

JC - Sage (you run around healing people...)

Smuggler - Scondrel. (You fight dirty XD)

SW - Marauder (whirling whirlwind of death :p)

SI - Either really works.

Agent - Either really works though I prefer sniper.

Bounty Hunter - Powertech.

  • 2 weeks later...

I made my decision based on the mindset I have while playing each character. When I play games like these, where my character can make decisions that actually "matter" for lack of a better term. Mind you, I've yet to play BH or Trooper, so I won't offer my input there.

JC: Eager to serve the Republic and follow the Jedi Code, his...... relations with a certain Sith after an encounter in Alderaan showed that being a little self-absorbed isn't a bad thing. For that reason, I chose Sage. Not only does it keep him invested in his Jedi studies, he later enjoys the praise he receives as a savior.

JK: Completely Dark Jedi here. She prefers violence to diplomacy. Rashness decisions over patience and strategy. She loves the thrill of battle and is always the first to charge in. For this reason, I naturally chose Sentinel. Rather self-explanatory.

Smuggler: This was a tough one as neither of the advanced classes really suit my characters personality. I chose 'Slinger more or less for the showboating aspect that fits the overall Smuggler theme.

SI: Absolutely sadistic and manipulative. She enjoys sneaking into any situation and wreaking havoc on friend and foe alike. Completely self-centered, I chose Assassin. She gets the satisfaction of worming into a battlefield unnoticed and once in, unleashing hell in a flurry of lightning and lightsaber massacres.

SW: Always seeking more power for himself, he realizes the strength in his allies is also important. If only slightly. After certain relations with a previously mentioned Jedi, he began to understand that protecting his allies can also bolster is own strength and ability. As such, Juggernaut was chosen.

IA: I've only started this one, so I've yet to make my decision. She is cold and calculating- fitting for a sniper. However, as a loyal member of the Empire and it's people, Operative allows her to assist those in need. I feel either one fits the classes theme and, the personality of my individual Agent.
