I am on Windows 7 64 bit, I was able to get it to go by setting the launcher (launcher only) to XP sp 3 compatability mode. It errored out with error 5 instead of just crashing; the repair scan repaired 1 file (wasn't sure which); then it redownloaded Main Asset 120 and installed it past 8%.

Edit: I spoke too soon, at the end of the update I got error 5 again; it went through the repair scan one more time and fixed something else (english assets 123 I think) and then I got through.

Then, ensuring that you have the launcher closed and gone from your Processes list in Task Manager, delete the following files:
- "Patch" folder

- "assets_swtor_XXX_XXX" or similar folders (do not delete the folder named "Assets")
- "Patcher.version" file
- "Launcher.settings" file
- "Launcher.exe" file

It's ok if not all these files are present, just delete the ones that are.

Then run the Fixlauncher.exe found in the client installation folder.

Once this has completed, please restart your computer in Safe Mode with Networking, and run the previously mentioned setup file.
did not work =\

also, win 7 64 bits
