2 choices at the end of the day,

Toshiba driver is - http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/file/dow...17.12.6885.exe but is 268.85 and is woeful for a gaming computer they don't update drivers. You can try this first if you want to stay with the Toshiba driver

I am fairly sure you can run this http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/62795 and is 320.18 (I havnt loaded this on mine yet but have 306.97) at worst I think when you start a game it will start in 3D and you need to turn it off of 3D with the 3D button.

This was odd. I can find the modell on the Swedish Toshiba page but not the English one (I am Swedish).

Here is the link to the Swedish page, I guess/hope you can make out the stats regardless, but it seems this modell doesnt exist on the British market for some reason...

Hi again,
I tried to download the geforce, since naturally I want as good gaming experience as possible.
However, upon succesful download and install of the 320.18 we are back on Square 1. The computer crashes and reboots when I start the game.
At least now I Think we can be positively sure that it is something about the Geforce graphic that is the problem at hand.
Could it be some sort of conflict between the graphic drivers making the computer go nuts?
Can I, or rather should I, uninstall the intel drivers for the Geforce to work?

I am very grateful for this help and if you got even further ideas on what to do I am listening.

Regards

Install the Toshiba NVidia drivers and see if the same thing occurs, it is worthwhile also installing the intel driver as well from the Toshiba website just in case it is something in the handover from Intel to NVidia that is the cause, this is controlled by the intel driver itself.

Should I leave the Geforce installed or remove it again while doing the above?

First can you confirm that this runs ok ? http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ no need to run it for long just want to confirm it works.

If it works it maybe worthwhile redoing directx first - http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/downl...ils.aspx?id=35 tried to find a redistribution file but for multi all I could find was the websetup.

Steps ahead if the above doesn't work
I would uninstall the NVidia, uninstall the intel , reboot it should auto install a driver, reboot again, install intel driver from Toshiba, reboot , install GeForce driver from Toshiba, reboot ( yes I know that is a lot of reboots) this is to ensure driver install is completed at each step to stop a potential issue.

Just to clarify with furmark, intent was to see if it worked under the NVidia card.

FYI my first X770 was replaced due to shutting down randomly, they replaced the video card twice then the mainboard then replaced the entire laptop. but mine was random, sometimes it was hours other times it was seconds.

Replacement laptop has never missed a beat

Hi,

I am not sure what fixed it. But I installed the Toshiba driver: http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/file/dow...17.12.6885.exe and now the game runs.

For some reason the graphics are set to minimum but there is definately room to raise it.

Thank you very much.

Might I ask a final question: What graphic settings do you recomend. I tend to either get it too ugly or have lag when playing.

A big thank you regardless!

I wont get a chance till the weekend to look at settings for the X770 , but straight up turn off shadows and bloom.

in the NVidia control panel set pre-rendered frames to 1 or 4 and see which is best for you.

Also ensure the windows power option is set to high performance when plugged in.

See how that goes for you , send me a Pm if you like and i'll get back then , 11pm here so heading off now i'm afraid

great to hear the shutdown has stopped.

Hi,

I had a few Days of stressful work and when landing at home today wanting to play SWTOR the computer now freeze when window has started. This is not the first time this has happened in the past years with the computer and I have had it sent to be fixed several times the last year. This last time was the last time I had warranty and I thought it was fixed but everytime they send it back something has been wrong with it....

Windows starts fine and in between a few seconds to a few minutes Everything just freezez. So I have had no chance to explore your suggested settings. I guess its a long shot but since you have a X770 do you know anything about this issue? I do not own window 7 disc to reinstall windows on my own, that came with the computer so to speak.

Anyow, thank you for all the advice regardless!
